Anyways, I'm gotten a little more accomplished on the dread conversion. No head as of yet but reworking the hand and the legs is a ton of work in itself. This one Dread is turning into more of a project than I had intended Seems to be the way all of my projects end up.

Deep down I knew this was going to happen... Either way I need your help (all of you) I need to make some knee joints for a walker and I am having a hell of a time trying to come up with something suitable. Any help?

What kind of walker?

The kind that requires longer legs

Go buy a transformer and hack it up for ball joints. The new Red Alert figure has good knees.

hahaha you can goto the dollar General store if you have one near by and buy transformers preety freaking cheap i got my undermine figure for about 2 dollars about a month ago and also you could try using lego brand bionicles or the knights kingdom joints and maybe the hero factory thing they have going on

And also Mr.Nids ive got a small question are you going to paint the lenses on the helmets red? cause i think it would look wicked with Green lenses to go with the red and golds kind of like a patina you get on bronze and cooper when it corrodes

The lenses I'm still up in the air about. I think I'll do tests a few ways and see how it looks.

And no, I had no idea!

You can pick TFs up cheap at old lots or other closeout store. Depending on the size, a new one at wal-mart will run ya 8-65 bucks. I like the 12 and 21 dollar sizes myself.

Why not just make a joint out of plastic tubes. You'd have to glue it together after you got the pose, but it would be cheap and easy really.

I stayed up for a few hours last night to work on my dread. I made the "arms" wider and pretty much completely re-did the legs from the ground up Needless to say I used up a good amount of the GF9 plastic tubes I picked up. Still trying to work out what to do for the CC arm. Am I going to go with a hand? Chain spear? Hmmm....

Go with a hand with a removable chain spear.... Mr.nids do you have a pin drill

I do indeed have a pin drill! I may do that idea but I'm rethinking the legs I had worked on also.

well you could always sculpt and cast your legs in two pieces then you could use the bone saw to cut out some joints then use the pin drill and hollow a joint get a pieces of wire to join the two...i hope i made sense

It would be helpful to see it side-by-side with a normal dread or dread parts so the modifications you've made can be fully appreciated.

I like the dread so far..But one of those legs is on backwards!

I would but there is one small issue... I have no reg dread legs! These are from an AoBR dread so I wasn't too heartbroken to dive right in to the process. I'll try to hunt some regular ones down though.

They arent glued! They are just sitting there for comparison purposes.

Lower leg mods look great so far. Not sure on the torso, but I have faith.

Looking good! But IMO most dread conversions to make 'em "proper" end badly and they look too "un-dready"

Man that looks like a linebacker of a dread but with legs like a supermodel....but my only bit o criticism i have its got some T-rex looking arms though it might just be where its not assembled that makes the CC arm look short...

@Darkvoid- The lower legs are bulked out already. The upper legs are still being worked on. There will be wires and tubes abound.

@Vignor- The width of the shoulders on said linebacker are going to get trimmed. Right now they are just for shape. I just always hated how the dreads look like walking refridgerators (sp?) Also i use the term "walking" loosely since they seem like they might waddle like penguins or pregnant women. I may scrap the legs all together and make mr. dread- not to be confused with the judge of the same name- into a tracked unit... Maybe. Thoughts?

The thunderfire cannon treads would be perfectly sized. That'd be expensive though, so I'd try to find another base.

Necron tomb spider for the legs.....this would be cool....Honestly i think it would be.....ill post something on the origin page for review if youll go with that idea...
