That really made me chuckle. Just don't beat yourself up toooo much over tiny things - they're really barely noticeable unless you have Baiyuan's superhuman abilities

Where are your guys based?

The Ultima Segmentum, somewhere near the Maelstrom...
Almost all of my various projects take place in the Dalthus Sector, and the nearby warp-rift known as the Howling Stars... still, interesting coincidence!
Mol - Well you generally need some sort of warp rift nearby... so the cultists actually have a chance of summoning the daemons.
We like our coincidences. My female Monodominant will make Tyrus looked like a puppy lol. Is yours going to be a level headed and fair? lol
You weren't by any chance listening to Cradle of Filth when naming the howling stars? I was going to put a link to youtube Beneath the Howling Stars (live) but the language was shocking! "Meet our new Keyboardist. The sinister minister: The loving, Monk :bleep - Lector!"
Just so we are clear I've never been into Cradle of Filth but my next door neighbour in halls was unfortunately obsessed.

Well, it all started when I created my DIY Space Marines, the Castigators (you can read about them here.) Inspired by the Badlands from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, I created the Howling Stars as a lawless area that the Castigators could watch over. Then when it came to creating a setting for my INQ28 campaign, I created the Dalthus Sector, which bordered the Howling Stars (and no, no CoF connection!) and the remote planet of Nova Castille. I envisaged it as sitting on the outskirts of the sector, and stylised the sector capital of Dalthus Prime as "Far Dalthus", spoken in an almost derisory way. Now, with The Higher Call, my DH-inspired forum roleplay, I've been fleshing out the Hyades sub, one of the Dalthus Sector's sub-sectors.
So yes, it's certainly interesting that we've had such similarities - but I see it as a good thing! Perhaps Adorno and Haxtus can go against one another one day, both after the same proscribed artefact...
I had a look at the Higher Call when you "linked" to it on your blog. It was a pain to find since it seems the ammo bunker doesn't do direct linking. It looks interesting but I've not had a proper chance to look at it. How does it work?....do you actually roll any dice?
So yes, it's certainly interesting that we've had such similarities - but I see it as a good thing! Perhaps Adorno and Haxtus can go against one another one day, both after the same proscribed artefact...
That would be a lot of fun. Maybe a story arch with both investigations taking place simultaneously gaining information from different sources leading to the same prize. Then a final show down to get the prize...depending on what happens in the initial investigations depends on who arrives first/knows what it actually is etc. This sounds like quite an interesting plan for the future...
When are you fighting over Nova Castille's spaceport?

Dalthus is in the Ultima Segmentum, as said earlier. As you seem to do too, I've left the sector floating around somewhat in order to prevent it being too locked down. Most of the fluff I tend to work on is internal - in THC we're going to be going over a number of differing worlds - to begin with, my players have been working on the Hive world of Hyades (Sub-Sector Capital) but I've figured out most of the areas of the sector (for example, the Forgeworld of Mutara and its associated worlds) and the Eldar craftworld of Kuraan-Bal. I'll be sure to keep you updated!
Although Ammobunker can be a little funny with linking, clicking on my signature should still take you there, even if you don't have a membership. Although some "pbp" (play-by-post) games do roll dice, and effectively play the same as DH, we play a more narrative style which is effectively more like working on a collaborative story (only it has a GM who has EVIL PLANS!)
The spaceport game probably won't be happening to August, alas. However, I'll try to let you know!
Mol - I totally missed the bit where you said Ultima Segmentum (I just reread what you wrote and ). If you guys come up with as much interesting background for your planets as the Dark Heresy books have for the Calixis Sector... that would be one hell of an interesting read.
THC sounds better now. Next time I cannot be bothered doing anything I'll have a proper look through. I'm really trying not to let myself procrastinate on the internet for vast periods of time these days.

Don't tell me about it....it'll be more fun logging into Dakka or Inq28 to find a battle report. Good luck with the terrain.

Heh, I could potentially do so; the players on Ammobunker are playing Septimus Cell, belonging to the Lady Amaranthe. Theoretically, it means that there are seven of them (at least!) so I did previously entertain thoughts of running a concurrent thread on a separate forum and having the actions in one game impact on the actions of another. At the moment, my players are in the midst of their second investigation - they're going to be heading off-world soon and getting embroiled in a sector-wide plot involving a dead Rogue Trader. We've been playing since January, and are on Episode 2 - and I have plans for 14(!) more.
At the moment, however, I'm in the midst of my teacher training, and SWMBO keeps me on a very tight leash. As much as I would love to run two games, I think it would be almost impossible. I'll think about it, though!
neil101 - Jack away...especially if you're going to leave ever so flattering comments.
Tortured-Robot - LOL. I don't even remember ever actually playing Space Crusade. I remember playing Hero Quest and Advanced Hero Quest and having fun with them. But I must have played it, I owned it. I remember playing the Space Crusade computer game though nostalgia trip. Jesus I'd forgotten just how slow computer games were.....ha ha ha multiple disks ha ha ha ha . I had such fond memories of that game and Youtube has stolen them from me forever.....ahem. Yeah Space Crusade dreadnought legs glad I kept hold of them!
Molotov - Talking of SWMBO how is the ring fund going (its vanished form your blog (or it could just be Opera))?

Oh yeah, the glorification of the past. Sometimes being able to go back and do it again brings just huge disappointment. That holds true for MOST old cartoons, video games and ex-girlfriends.

Baiyuan - While I think that holds true to cartoons (except MASK) and video games (except Toejam and Earl)... the two ex girlfriends (not at the same time) I.... errrr.... caught up with was a glorious reminder of the past.

xXH0LYCRUSAD3Xx - I'll bare that in mind but I'm rather fond of the dark grimy/grubby colours themes running through my models. I envisage the 40k universe to be dark and dirty so that comes across into the painting. Do you have any particular detail areas you think need brightening up and what colours do you suggest? I've always been tempted to try and paint a "Red Era" chaos warrior for fun...now that would involve shockingly bright colours.
The Good Green - Ha it is amazing and the only reason I still own a Mega Drive. My sister and I still get together to play Toejam and Earl occasionally. When we finally completed it we were kinda disappointed and elated at the same time. We also did Toejam and Earl 3 on the Xbox which was fun but not quite the same.

I'm well and truly stumped on legs for my mech gladiator. So I've vaguely started a Pit Slave for the Mechanicus Warband, instead of the female ganger I was thinking about. I'll probably be using this guy in Nercomunda too. WIP pics later in the week.
Baiyuan - I was always playing on my friends mega drive. Then I remember getting a second hand one in about 1994ish for my birthday Funny thing is my family never had the money for new games so I was still always using my friends one.
Knobibrot - Thanks. The trousers on the nob go a little something like this...
Base coat 1:1 Scorched Brown and Khemri Brown. Followed by Badab black wash.
2:2:1 Scorched, Khemri and Kommando Khaki applied to the raised areas.
Add more Kommando Khaki for next layer and onwards.
Vitruvian XVII - Indeed. I'm going to visit my sister today and we're going to get it out for some two player Sonic 2.
neil101 - LOL. Yeah I don't remember the Musak at all. Ah so you'd have played that arcade game with the little cave man who used to go very fast. Cannot remember his name for the like of me. Ex Parlays - Great phrase and you missed out... always a pleasure.

I think I know the game with the caveman, I played that on my aunt's pc all day long whenever I visited. It's "Prehistoric Man", isn't it. Great game from what I remember.
About megadrives, my parents had allowed me just one console and that happened to be a NES which I got for christmas. So before buying my own PSX I only owned a NES and a GB. I loved Golden Axe on Sega and I was so jealous of anybody who had a Mega Drive or SNES. I actually only kept on visiting and staying over night at my very first girlfriend's place because she had that Mario game with Yoshi in it, little did I know that she was interested in playing with other things, while that was completely lost on me and only got on my nerves. Such innocence... (In my defense, I was three years younger than her.)

In the post, when I got home, was a head for my scavvy project - Thanks monkeytroll.
I'd already used the one I had on another model, I added the horns. I think I painted it early 2009ish. I thought I may as well put a photo up.
Champion of Nurgle:
Possibly the most unphotogenic model I've ever had the displeasure of photographing....the glossy finish works for the slimy nurgle look but not for photography.

Don't really know what you mean there, Peter, he looks ace! The faces are fantastic - the change from greenish rot to the pink protrusions is seamless, and I love his eyes! The other face (the one hanging from his belt!) is great too.
I always find my models look one hell of a lot better in person than under a macro lens, but that may just be self-delusion on my part
