Not necessarily.
You can find most things GW sell at a 20% discount elsewhere on the internet. So a £10 voucher on something that costs £50 is at 20% discount. For anything over £50, if I can get 20% off I'm doing better with that than using a £10 voucher. You only come out ahead if the thing you want costs less than £50. And you want it this month. And it's in stock.
It's easy to envisage someone doesn't meet those requirements.
I guess technically you could buy this dice set - https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Citadel-Dice-Bone for £6.50 plus £3.50 postage and packing and therefore get it for completely free? Don't know if anyone has tried that.

I would say that infers that they don't buy from the GW store. The reasons, if you imagine any, will usually say more about you than about them.

Just to clear things up a bit more, my initial statement was really just that: a statement of fact. I don't order directly from GW.
It was meant to explain why I have no use for the voucher, not to disparage people who do it differently. Everyone is of course welcome to order where they please, and I suspect that for some countries or more secluded areas there is likely no better alternative anyway. There will also be people who order from GW out of principle to support their favourite hobby company in the best way possible, which is also fine with me. I don't care either way and I certainly don't want to steer people towards one or the other. If anything, my giving away GW store credit is enabling the latter group of people.
I do acknowledge that my matter-of-fact explanation could be misconstrued, so I just want to make sure people understand what was actually meant.

Any reasonable person reading your original post can understand this. Personally I think the best way to do it would have been to find a homeless guy, use your phone to record yourself giving him the voucher and then upload the video to Youtube, but the way you did it was completely acceptable and needs no explanation.

I understood, I just saw an angle where someone was maybe feeling like they shouldn't have used a voucher or should feel bad for ordering direct, not through your own intent, just as a passive side effect.
Again, much praise for supporting your locals and helping someone else.

Yeah this is something the company I work for does as well with our subscription service. If a trial requires a customer to put in their CC creds, you'll retain the majority of them as paying customers simply because they won't remember to cancel.
Yep, Amazon and others often do the same thing. Though sometimes people don't notice that they do it. For example many people already have card data stored on somewhere like Amazon. So when you get your "free, opt out at end, trial" of something like Amazon Prime you don't have to think to opt out and you don't have to "worry" about giving them any more data.
Or you know, a promotion. What a weird hate boner you have.
GW almost never does promotions tho.
They had a promotion at the start and they're literally having a sale right now for Warhammer Day. It doesn't take a lot of mental gymnastics to realise you do promotions to tie in with events.
Sure, but also, WH+ is basically the ONLY thing they had a promotion on in forever, and the warhammer day discounts are also the first time in I think literal two decades they did that (not counting christmas bundles, it's definitely not christmas yet) It's easy to see how running two promos on a product when they used to have no promos never policy can be construed as trying to get more customers for the product.

But of course they are trying to get more customers. Everything GW does is to try to get people to buy their stuff. That was never disputed?
They're not advertised as a "promotion" or "discount", they're just "best way to start OMG!!!".
And yes, obviously GW, like any company, wants people to spend all of their money with them if possible, but they very, VERY rarely do so via discounts at all. Especially not discounts of brand-new products.
I am not saying it IS desperation or anything like that, but to an outside observer it may look like it based on GW's previous behavior.

What about promos like:
The Sgt figure when you spend XXX you get him free.
Get a subscription to White Dwarf and get a free exclusive miniature.
Buy XXX get free delivery.
Buy XXX get a store credit.
They do plenty of promotions.
The fact they never did promotions on Warhammer + is because it’s new.... oh wait...the promoted it’s start up with get a free miniature if you stay with us for a year, plus a gift certificate and a couple months free on top of that.
