Subject: Gundam, Mecha and other SF Kits for possible use in 40K.
The Lunadiver and Nutcracker both came with 1/35 SAFS units, and there are several by Aquamarine (Racoon). I think there were some Fireballs released in 1/35 as well. Wish I had time to follow more of the MaK series...was a fan since the mid-1980s...
Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?
Thanks for the replies. It looks like then in my niche case (something useable in 32mm figure tabletop gaming) that 3d printing would probably be the best bet.

I don't think they ever actually released them. I remember them claiming that part of the rules regarding the files was an NDA, which someone supposedly broke immediately.
Defiance Games gave us so, so much hobby douchery . I can’t think of a current company that is so amusing in its petty “can’t help myself” sleaziness.
I wouldn't look up Palladium Games then.
I got suckered into the Defiance egg suits. I found out what they had done to the Torn Asunder folks and e-mailed them to see if they could help when Defiance went silent. They essentially e-mailed me back to notify that Defiance was being liquidated and the sharks were already nibbling at the corpse. Then Defiance pulled that stunt with the "We'll give you the STLs", "then nuh-uh, someone spilled the beans!" They never did pay the 3D modeler for his work, though.
Been looking for a good egg suit model ever since, and don't have access to a 3D printer to print them myself.

Where did you find this guy? Might just be the model that pushes me over the ledge into getting a resin printer.

I p,edged for both those kickstarters! Kevin got into some pretty deep sleaze, but came across more pathetic and desperate. Anyway, I'm surprised no one has made a "close enough" version of the hard suit in all this time. It seems like it would be right up Impact!'s alley.

I found them on cults 3d for purchase and they're what prompted me to ask here about official models. The modeller has some FDM larger scale print samples of various designs but I'm not familiar with the universe to know about them.

I second the overall shittiness of Palladium. Sorry to hear you were in on both as well. I followed the Defiance drama peripherally as I liked the egg suit design as well as some of their marines iirc.

I talked to the guy from Impact miniatures about potentially picking up the license for them. No idea how that is progressing though.
Also, thank you very much for the review, Orlando. It's exactly how I hoped it would be, and will require only a wheel and track addition from myself to get it looking the way I want it to. Cheers!

More for humor but, given my earlier question about Ma.K models, I thought I might post this probably old image that I first came across today. Maschinen Katzen.

What is the backstory with Palladium? I used to play Rifts and Beyond the Supernatural back in the late 80's - early 90's but haven't even thought of them in ages.

I love to kvetch/whinge about Palladium but I don't think this Gundam in 40k thread is the proper place for that. If you start a new one over in the RPG subforum, I guarantee you'll get more than a virtual earful likely from lots of people.
