I hope this is sarcasm. No one should feel any obligation to buy things they don't want on the off-chance they might get tossed some scraps in the future.
If that's legitimately how some customers feel, its way past time to walk away, because that isn't healthy or rational.

And what happened with that? When solo boxes came out eldar players were saying "should have bought that after all and sell stuff what I didn't need". Funny thing about discount boxes is you can sell what you don't need and get what you want cheaper than if you buy just what you need.

But it's a hassle to buy mostly things you don't want to get 1 or 2 things you do. Surely you can understand that?

I want Ghaz. I don't want everything else in that box. Selling it all is a waste of time.

It depends. I got my Incubi very cheap, but then again people didn't think that Incubi/Banshees would have that fething insane price tag.

Now the people selling these things know better, and I imagine Ghaz won't be cheap.

There’ll be solo releases down the line. eBay exists. It’s a sucky release model but it’s not the only way to get the toys you want.

GW highlighted them being available on their news email last week.

If this is a £90 box then maybe it's okay but any higher...... unless you're a rare person that wants all the content.

Really feels like GW has a bunch of incursers lying in a heap that no one will buy. Neither faction has anything representing what the army is about : Ork hordes vs elite assault troops has turned into elite orks vs marine light infantry...... literally would have been better to dump both respective start collecting in the box with the characters and charge more.

Oh yeah, 'cause eBay is known for its fantastic deals and thrifty prices on models that aren't on general release.

BrianDavion wrote:

Yeah. Gulliman came out years ago, and GW tends to increase prices on new things rather than all the things. That's why single clam-pack plastic characters have steadily increased in price since they came out. AUD$70 is the new normal for something I could once buy for less than $30. Remember the days when the Blood Angel Jump Pack Chaplain was considered overpriced compared to normal clampack characters? What naive children we were back then...

Why snip the bit where I said it’s a sucky release model? Because it is. There’s no denying that.

Equally it’s futile to spend days gnashing and raging about this online. I get that people want to buy e.g. Ghaz immediately solo but that isn’t an option. Simply pointing out that the sky isn’t falling and the kit will be along in other ways eventually. There are quite literally bigger issues in the world right now.

You don't need to want all. Just your side of faction. Getting rid of the other side is dirt easy.

And if you don't want all of your faction get the solo release for higher price than with discount. That's the bloody point of discount boxes. You expect to get ghaz+rest for price of ghaz? lol

You want discount, you buy discount box. You don't want all the stuff in discount box for your faction, you pay higher price for solo box.

This way you get both option to get stuff for discount AND only what you want for higher price but guess some people just want everybody to pay full price and nobody should be allowed to get stuff for discount...

And then people have guts to complain about GW price. Look. If you don't want discount boxes don't even DARE to complain about prices then. If you complain about discount boxes AND prices then you are just hypocrite with zero internal logic.

I don't want to speak for him or anything but I assume his point is thus; 'if you only want Ghaz' and no other units in the boxed set (what Ork player doesn't want more Meganobz or Makari?) then you either buy and sell this set or you have to wait until the separate release in 3-6 months.'

Such is life I guess. At least the box set route can save money if you manage to flog all the other units.

While I like the idea of start collecting contents in there you'd only get people going "but I already have all that stuff and don't want more it's a worthless box". I think the idea is the contents in here are a natural expansion to the start collecting boxes, where the sneaky primaris are padded out and the orks get the elite nobz bodyguard thing going on.

Well, this guy is also a thing, so I guess it's not impossible.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Can't for the life of me find a product on the GW webstore that's in the 140€ price bracket. Lot of 145€ and 120€ though.

Found a 40€ and a 100€ item though, giving us an Oz equivalency of AUD$234. That's mighty expensive, but far below the $350-$390 I was expecting. Maybe they did learn something from that absurd Blood of the Phoenix Box.

Or they'll use the Kungflu as an excuse to go "Uhh! Fluctuating exchange rates!" and release it at AUD$390 anyway...

Though that one you can have as many as you have plague marine squads so limited mostly just points.

Pretty sure Makari is unique so max 1 of those.

It would be pretty unreasonable to have plague marine icon bearer in combo box with expensive special character. For Makari it makes perfect sense.

Though separate allows GW charge 20£ for gobbo model so guess that's where GW will go...

Hate to burst your bubble but the €145 battleforces are $310 in Australia. A $300 price point seems likely.

yeh combining prices of different products don't work well either with GW exchange rate systems.

But 140e is lot more reasonable than I was expecting. Good good. 70e for ork half isn't too bad

edit: Actually it's suspiciously cheap. I would get ghaz for free and tiny discount on the rest of orks...

The value split isn't 50/50 though Tneva. The SM part is 45 euro + like 32.5 euro (that's mephistons cost, so probably same for Ragnar) so that's not a bargain at all for SM players really. I'm sure you could sell them those parts for 70euro but I'd feel bad if it's someone I know seeing as the ork side is where the bargain is at..

Orks is 49 (MANZ) + 22.5 (Nobz) + easily 50 (Ghaz)

Because the Marine side is 45e for the Infiltrators, and 32.5e for the character. The Orks are well over half of the box. Add to that I don't think the Infiltrators will sell as well as many others seem to think. And while Ragnar will get snapped up by quite a few SW players, not many other Marine players will want him.

This is why I keep saying this looks like a huge miss from my perspective.
