Eh, I admit most of my contempt for EoE comes from repressed childhood memories. That and the aforementioned nastiness and confusing finale.
The series is fine though. Except for the parts where they begin to run out of money, and start doing things like 5 minute elevator rides.

Well, I started rewatching my first anime ever...Cardcaptor Sakura! Only this time I'm watching the subbed version that leaves in all the hilarious psuedo-lesbian larking between Sakura and her insane friend Tomoyo, who is like a slightly less batgak insane version of Sanae. Also, Kero! I loved the little fella when I was a kid, and now I'm watching him as CLAMP intended he's even better! It also stars the ever likeable Shinji-sorry, Yukito, whom Sakura has a crush on and is voiced by Megumi Ogata, one of my favourite voice actors (or in her case, actresses) ever, tied with Chris Latta and Peter Cullen.

Another anime I simply must watch is Code Geass. The mech designs are awesome, the animation looks good, the story seems interesting (WW3 with giant robots) and the characters are cool.

One anime I will NOT be watching is Getter Robo, the epitome of dreadful 70's robot shows. By Miyazaki's left nostril it looks bad. Bad, bad, BAD. Yes, it's a 70's series, yes it was great for the time, but still...just no.

Oh, and I will also be watching the first 2 Rebuild of Evangelion movies. Sadly I have no idea where to get the DVDs so I'm going to cheat and watch them on AnimeUltima. 3 isn't on there at the moment (it hasn't even been translated yet) but it looks awesome.

Also, Unit 05 is now officially my favourite mecha ever.

I'm personally waiting till all of the rebuild movies are finished, so I can settle down and have a marathon.

I've heard good things about Code Geass. Its the second anime to win 3 consecutive awards. I forgot what for exactly; something like "most loved anime" or something.
I have yet to watch it though

Overall I would rate Code Geass as a pretty good series, above average but not super great. The ending of the series however is Amazing, one of my favorites ever.

I should get around to watching Sakura with the subs. Watched most but not all of it when it was on Cartoon Network dubbed I think.

I've tried a couple times and I've never been able to get more than a couple episodes into Code Geass.

Sorry if this has been discussed previously, but what are the sites everybody reccomends for watching Anime? I've been using Animeplus, but lately I've been having streaming issues and they are definitly not related to my internet connection.

Also sites with good English Dubs would be nice too. Although I have gotten used to Subs, and may be picking up some Japanese by osmosis , I would like to watch some stuff in English for once.

I've been using PinoyAnime.tv primarily for the reason most of their streams will work on my iPhone where most other sites do not.

Speaking of Code Geass, i picked it up again the other day, watched season 1 over a few days, but yesterday i powered through all 25 episodes of season 2, my god, the ending is awesome, well, the last 5 or so episodes, the rest of it is pretty good, above average i would say.

On another note, the main site i use for watching anime is Justdubs.net, yeah i know what you must be thinking, "you watch it dubbed?" yes, for the most part i do, but for the odd series or two i have watched subbed, for example Angel Beats!, the sub is better IMHO, and TK is much more hilarious, his few lines sound kind of rediculous in the sub

I have been watching Tiger and Bunny on Hulu. Its a great premise: Add super heroes, reality tv, and crazy antics and you got something real engaging.

Watched Tiger and Bunny recent and it was indeed pretty good.

Vampire Hunter D and its sequel, Bloodlust. First one isn't that great, but Bloodlust is fantastic.

Can I just say I have become addicted to the extended version of Credens Justitiam, Mami's battle theme from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. All the music from that show was beautiful, but this...It sends shivers up my spine (in a good way!).

Also, who was your favourite of the Magical Girls from PMMM? Mine was Kyoko Sakura, as she has an awesome weapon, she is a feisty redhead, she looks cute, she can fight, and she really appreciates food!

Not that I dislike any of the girls (even yandere Homura).

Ha, I liked Kyoko best too, That badarce long-coat! I think my favorite song from that series was And I'm home, Kyoko's and Sayaka's theme followed by Decretum. Some of the music in that series is really really sad and I always get into music that makes me feel its message.

Looking more and more like that Cowboy bebop live action film is gonna be comin out. Knocking on heavens door was really good.
Also i think its been like 5 or 6 months now since I played katawa shoujo? But on the way back from a cabin trip the soundtrack came on...followed by the feels-THE FEELS

OK, I just found out that End of EVangelion got a 15 rating.

FIFTEEN. FIF-FETHING-TEEN.

Inside I was screaming like Shinji. And not Spike Spencer's "OH MY GOD! A FLOATING SHOPPING LIST!" scream (bonus points if you get the reference). Megumi Ogata's soul piercing, spine-tingling, blood-curdling, sanity shredding, HIDEOUS (but extremely good) scream of utter mental ruin.

I mean, seriously. End of Evangelion was the most disturbing thing I have ever watched. Ever. It featured graphic extreme violence, less graphic but still horrific domestic violence, creepy psycho-sexual imagery, rape allusions, nudity, psychological horror, body horror, surreal juxtaposition, and some of the most terrifying sequences in history...

And they rated it 15.

Seriously, what the feth was wrong with them? If there was a rating above 18, I would give it to End of Evangelion. Not because it was tasteless (in fact the thing that creeped me out the most was how awfully non-gratuitous and justified it seemed) but simply because it is utterly grotesque.

There is absolutely no way I would let a 15 year old watch it. I think there should be a warning on it saying "do not watch if you suffer from emotional trauma". If it had been live action it would have been banned.

I deeply pity Hideaki Anno, simply because I wonder just how depressed and broken he must have been feeling to come up with this monument of horror. Fortunately he is now happily married and from what I know the Rebuild movies are a lot less depressing.

Also, one thing I must ask is: how many people who said Shinji was "a whiny emo bitch" watched the dub rather than the sub? Because I must admit that Spike Spencer, talented though he is, didn't do a very good job with Shinji (aside from the hilarious end of series rant, which I would love to see Megumi Ogata read in Shinji's voice in Japanese), and no matter how good he was, he didn't stand a chance against the Japanese voice for him. Seriously. I know I'm gonna sound like a bit of a dick when I say this, but Japanese Shinji is a million times better than English Shinji. He really does sound like a broken little boy in the Japanese original.

Yeah, the english dub of Eva is a bit shaky. It gets better later on, but some performances are a tad...aggravating.
I have to say though that I have an odd fondness of Tiffany Grant's portrayal of Asuka.

I have seen a few accidentially hilarious subs. Like for My Bride is a Mermaid. It seemed like they tried to get southern accents into the subtitles.

Ruddy hell the second season of Black Butler is messed up.

And my favorite Song is the ending. It just sounds like something you will run into battle while playing.

Just got done watching Scientific Railgun, side story to the main Railgun anime, which I'll probably watch next. Was pretty good.

Anime like that is better to watch when the hype dies down. I just started watching it a few months ago.

Moribito: guardian of the spirit. Pretty good so far

I liked Moribito. Starts out good, gets kind of slow towards the middle, but the last half/third gets really good.

Both Railgun and Index are quite good. You will notice that railgun's geared towards girls more though with teamwork and friendship being important more than they are in index. Index is much closer to the more traditional shonen series. I'm enjoying the light novels since they continue after the anime has finished.

Yeah, Tiffany Grant is excellent as Asuka. Doomkopf! Amanda Winn Lee isn't bad either, although she is to blame for the Commentary of Evil. The guy who played Gendo was a bit meh, as were Ritsuko and Misato. Shinji, as I said earlier, was rather irritating sounding, and sounded too old, but poor Spike had a hell of a job trying to compete with the original performance. To be honest, the whole dub cast had their work cut out, as the original voice acting was nothing short of stellar.

Still, the NGE dub was merely mediocre. It had nothing on the awfulness of the original dub for Sailor Moon. That dub made my ears bleed. Some dubs suffer from underacting. Others suffer from overacting. The Sailor Moon dub suffered from both at the EXACT SAME TIME.

Also, Misato as the Demoman, and Asuka as the Medic. Make it happen. Now.
