Thanks guys.

Oh well, while waiting for GS to dry on the other dreads, I could no longer resist starting another dread

It's gona be an Iron Warrior. So I've used an Ironclad torso, and I'm gona beef up armour where I can.

I've started with a drop pod missile launcher, and armoured it up with defiler parts. When it's finished it's gona be a missile launcher on legs

See if you can give it a larger vox for the body, and I am thinking a plasma cannon for this guy. Then again I may be referring to a story of a Iron Warriors dread that I read in a BL book.

Hi btemple0, what do you mean by larger vox? Plasma cannon sounds good, I will see if I can make something big, that would count as plasma.

IIRC on the underside of the sarcoughagus and whatnot there is a vox so the dread can communicate with others, bossibly make something like a large speaker or something, I am running off of the idea of "the wailer" from one of the short stories in a BL novel. "The Wailer" is an Iron Warriors dreadnought that was nost noted for the wailing and shreiking that its victims heard before their death, and the thing it most loved hunting and killing was loyalist astartes.

http://www.modelbits.co.uk/Warhammer+40k/Space+Marines/Venerable+Dreadnought/Space+Marine+Venerable+Dreadnought+Plasma+Cannon.html

that bit should cover it, should you find a shoulder piece you could mount it in, then just cover the shoulder with a nice thick piece of plasticard, calling it a thick armour plate.

And for the CCW see if you could fabricate some sort of battering ram, seeing as the Iron Warriors specialise in seige warfare.

Nice one Btemp. Thats given me a great idea. The space either side of the missile launcher I can put megaphone type speakers that will represent what you have just explained. Battering ram is also on the list now.

I am planning to do all yes, I already have some bits ready for the nightlord, but I have run out of torsos and legs, so I will have to do a big bitz order soon.

Well, it seems someone's been busy during last days!

Great job on the lips, your leg plate is now 100% awesome! As for the pus tank, pva glue is a good idea.
The mouth on your Slaanesh dread is great too!

For the leg plates, since you've used the same Venerable leg plates as I did, I encourage you to work them like I did on the iconless one before to add the shield and defiler head:

Your Iron Warriors dread is on the good way (and the missile launcher on the top fits better than on the Khorne dread).

I'd like to make a Night Lords dread myself, but I already have a lot to do with my ongoing projects (and I'm trying to reduce my modeling budget this year )

Anyway, I'll be following your new projects closely.

By the way, any news of your Khorne Dread? Is the autocanon done?

Thanks Hyena.

I'm getting really bold with the GS now. On the Slaanesh leg plates I am blending in the defiler face, so it looks like it is stretching out of the plate(warboss's suggestion), I gona try with the skull face too but it might look silly, so may end up taking it off, and doing as you say.

I really wanted to do a dread with a missile launcher on the top, so the Iron warriors was the perfect start.

Auto cannon, I've only added a daemon head to the top barrel. I have not done anymore work on the ammo drums, because I have not been able to cut the tube straight enough.

Impressive work man! To be totally honest I didn't like your first one at all, but imho your work has improved a lot from dread to dread. The nurgle dread kicks ass. And my absolute favorite part is the melee weapon of the khorne dread. It looks like it is a little deamon itself, with the face and chainsaws as arms, can picture it screaming and buzzing. I'm really picky when it comes to cc weapons on dreads, hardly ever found a credible and stylish one. Yours is ACE!
(Actually reminds me of Khorn-E the evil brother of Wall-E, a conversion a mate started to show how all the skulls are being cleaned and polished for the mighty skull throne)

Thanks Baiyuan, yes I feel I'm improving alot as I go, helped alot by fellow dakkite tuts and blogs. do you have pics of the skull clearner?

On the Khorne dread I am considering putting the chainsaws on the autocannon too, for ultra chainsaw madness. I've already put the same daemon head over the top barrel of the cannon, so it mirrors the other arm.

Should I go for the extra chainsaws everyone

Maybe you should do one combat blade shaped like an axe head at the bottom on the lower barrel.

You think chainsaws either side of the autocannon is a bit OTT?

Chainsaws FTW!!! Are you going to paint the God specific dreads in the colours of a matching legion, i.e Khorne= World Eaters, Slaanesh = Emperor's Children?
