The look like an excellent gang, hopefully you get lots of playtime with them.

As for a day off......you now need to paint up enough for a small 40k add on unit. Then to have them as the main 40k army......then to have enough for an apocalypse sized game. that's usually my mindset.

First update of June, but it's a small one.

I finally got around to finishing up my second Martian Orbital Fusilier.

I've also been working on the next batch of civvie astronauts from Ground Zero Games. This time, it's the guys in the light-duty spacesuits. Currently, only 2 are done, but the other 6 are nearly finished. I should have the whole batch done by tomorrow.

I also painted up some of those Ion Age movement trays, which you see them in. I did two in black, like that one, and two in brown.

Also painted up a Xin hero character from Ion Age. This is Commander Gongji.

He was the freebie back in February. I figured I'd use actual metallics on him since he's a named hero. might as well have him stand out.

Here he is on one of the brown bases I did, alongside the unnamed female Yoaxie they did as a freebie a while back.

I got the final two of my old metal Catachans finished today. As you can see, I even tried painting their eyes this time.

I feel like I should be re-enacting Contra with these guys.

And the whole bunch.

More importantly though, I painted more astronauts. These are the last of my civillian ones, but definitely not the last of my astronauts.

These guys are from Alternative Armies. They're supposed to be space fighter pilots, but yeah, they're just astronauts. Their sculpts are a bit crude, as I think they may be from the old Laserburn line. But, at this scale, that crudeness isn't really noticeable at tabletop level.

And here's my full set of 8 astronauts in light-duty spacesuits.

They kind of remind me of the old Action Force Space Force guys. Now, if only there were more games that had combat in a vacuum.

I love your work on the Catachans. Those original metal sculpts were nifty; it's a shame the plastics turned out so weird.

Both types of guardsmen recently look awesome. I also like the wee spacemen with the fishbowl helmets from last page.

Some really good looking minis here Barzam. Even though I am mainly into 28mm figs. Well done!

Yeah, I don't think my 15mm stuff is particularly popular. Still, I enjoy painting them, and that's all that matters. Besides, it's not like I've stopped painting 28mm figures.

Speaking of, I agree, those old metal GW figures have way more personality to them than a lot of the plastics. I think GW's improved a lot recently with the plastics though and they are starting to approach the level of character the old metals had.

And since we're on the topic of 28mm minis, I did paint another. Tonight I finished my Menoth Reclaimer. I'm not entirely sure what he does in Warmachine, I think it has something to do with mana generation or something, but for Frostgrave, I think he'll make a hell of an apothecary!

And yes, I did paint more 15mm figures. I finished another squad of not-Space Marines.

Those are those Splat or Slap or some other 4 letter word that starts with an S, right? The Space Knights?

Can't wait to put that zealot Reclaimer out of his misery. You and your dirty Mennoth cult...

Good stuff. 15mm is valid, just less common sadly. I'd like to do some myself.

15mm has such a huuuuuuuuuuge variety of stuff. You could probably find a wider variety of minis in 15mm than 28mm.

Yeah, these are the Slap Minis guys. Actually, I just took a look at the freebie figures they sent me, I thought it was just a squad or two. No, it's a full platoon with more of the Terminator guys. I might have to paint them up as an opfor.

Ahh perhaps I was mistaken. I guess for those things I've been into, 15mm hasn't come up.

15mm fantasy would be neat for dnd, half inch grid, take up less space. Never happen though, too much reaper in my house

Alright! I got these habs finished, finally! These things took way longer than they should've.

Next step, get the passageways I've got finished. For now, the buildings can connect up to the Block House without them. So, here's my colony buildings all together, along with the comms antennae that I haven't posted before.

Those are sweet. I can't help but want them in 28mm, out of habit

Neither I nor anyone else I know game in 15mm, which is a shame because vehicles and buildings in that scale are cheaper and have a lot of variety.

Yeah, there's no 15mm gaming community here, either. Hell, not much of a 28mm one, for that matter. Until I have enough to force others into playing some 15mm rulesets, I'm going to have to stick to solo rules. They are really fun to paint though.

I painted some Shia Khan Empire figures this week. A few from the Maia squad set. Two males, one female. The unhelmetted one is the female, obviously. She was actually a montly freebie. I figured if I was getting her as a freebie anyway, I might as well buy the squad. I'll have to paint up a few more of those guys soon.

The guns they're armed with are called a Maia MPI. It's a high caliber SMG, supposed to have a high rate of fire and is best used in urban operations. I figured since they're more for street combat, I ought to go for more of an urban scheme on them. I'll paint the rest up to match.

Another Khanate unit I painted up is the newly released Psychoborg.

These guys are robot heavy support troops for the Khanate Legions. They're supposed to be armed with some kind of psychic weapon that causes crippling fear in humans. The Khanate has a habit of letting them loose into urban areas where they act as terror weapons. Because of that, they can actually be fielded in-game singly, but they can also be deployed in squads.

Lastly, I got my Chinese Lunar Troops from Moongrunt painted.

I really like these figures. Gonna need to buy at least another pack of them.

Terrain , vehicles and troops, all needed stuff assembled and painted, well done Barzam! I am wondering what to adapt for my Morat collection, and decided on the Nussrocker 1/35scale tanks which will be modified of course.

ShasO, those are the odd hover tanks from Maschinen Krieger, right? You can get some pretty close approximations of those in 15mm, too! Because, of course you can.

Grim, the astronauts are favorites of mine, too. I think they might be my favorites from GZG. Unfortunately, I'm starting to run low on 1-yen coins, so I may have to hold off for a while before I can get to the rest of them. Too bad there aren't many similar figures in 28mm. only ones I can think of are from Victory Force, and those don't look nearly as cool.

I'm pretty sure they're based on the spacesuits Picard and crew wore in First Contact.

I've got a few more 15mm figures I'm working on before I get to some 28mm stuff. Fear not! I will be painting 28mm miniatures in the very near future.

for now, I finished my third Duxis battlesuit tonight.

This one is equipped for anti-infantry, armed with a dual machine-gun. The power fist is standard. I actually included the heraldic shield on this one.

I also got around to painting an alien I've had for way too long. This guy was yet another of Ion Age's monthly freebies. He's supposed to be a Prang Ambassador.

He's also supposed to be a good guy and a named character, but I don't remember what his name is. Personally, I think he makes a better mob boss or gangster than he does an ambassador. Even moreso when I have him hang out with my only other Prang, the Raider machingunner.

Looks like he's out to collect some "protection" money with his bodyguard.

I said I was going to paint a 28mm figure today, and I meant it. This is one of the Deep Ones from Bones III. Naturally, none of the color changes or shading detail I did came out in the photo though.

I also am nearly finished painting the Dark Young from the set. I should have him done by tomorrow.

Red Harvest, I don't have any Shoggoths, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Grimdork, that actually sounds pretty cool. Did you get Dagon? The only reason I didn't was because of my lack of space.

Tamburlaine, that sounds like a challenge. I'll take you up on that, too. I bet I can get them both done by this weekend.

I actually really like that sea captain figure, too. His casting turned out really good. Very sharp, crisp details on him.
