The whole army has now been modelled and I will be blogging it's painting progress
here. Look out for it if you are interested!

It is going to be a Slannesh and Fast attack themed army.
It needs fluff and a name.
But something like........
Winged daemon prince wants to get to a picnic on time, minions try to keep up.

It currently contains

20 Raptors
10 Bikes
20 Marines w/ rhino transports
Winged DP
Winged Chaos Lord
5 Termies in Land Raider
20 Something lesser daemons
And a couple o' spawn

Time to get painting!!!!!

You can see my raptors in this thread......
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/224198.page

I am going to get all of this army half painted By just concentrating on the focal points
of the model they can be played with sooner and the task should seem less daunting.
I can then revisit them at my leisure and finish small details.

Okay first up my daemon prince and some bloodletters, pip.

The slaanesh bloodletters look great. And something about that demon prince really works well, too -- even though the paint scheme is as basic as it is.
This army's off to a great start!

Oh, here and there.

What did you use as the generic Daemons? I don't recognize the models.

What did you use for the arms of the bloodletters? They look really cool!

Are you finished with the prince and the marine(ie are these WIP shots)? From you other pictures it looks like you have the basics of painting down well and when looked at together it leaves the all metal prince and marine looking like they are lacking/unfinished.

EDIT: Of course, right after posting I re-read your post and see that you are just doing the focal points for now. A good idea to get a colorful army on the table as soon as possible.

I really like the paintjob on the bloodletters and I think you should go all the way with the prince and the marines. They are off to a great start and I think they will look spectacular when you finish them.

Bloodletters for Slaanesh?

The Daemon Prince is really good by the way.

I can't take full credit for these! Someone on dakka had done heads like this before, I just loved them and
shamelessly stole the idea!
I take full credit for the claws!

They are the old dark elf harpy models without wings. (Yeah, I've been around the block)
The wings are on the raptors!

A mix of possessed csm, daemonettes and spawn bits

The Thousandth Son wrote:Bloodletters for Slaanesh?

They are not actually Bloodletters!
I haven't named them yet but they have been cursed with blindness by the warp
as punnishment for their narcissistic tendencies or summat! They are used as lesser
daemons in a csm army so it shouldn't matter.

I like the Bloodletter conversions I've been meaning to do something similar with tentacle Genestealer heads to make Cthulhu monsters.

But still, those Bloodletters are really, really nice!

Just a quick update.
Been busy with xmas and all that.

I've painted my first five standard marines and will post when I have pics.

Also fixed the poor join on the DP's wings and given him a little more paint.

Cheers Deadly Chicken

All GW paints.

Liche purple base coat,
blend to Warlock purple,
blend to Tentacle pink.
Highlight with tentacle pink.
Use a bit of Leviathan purple wash between stages as appropriate.
Hope this helps!

I really need to get back on track with this project. It's kinda fallen asleep!

You could mix white and warlock purple - I think that yields pink. Red & White is a traditional mix for pink too. Use a little, see if you like the result, and if so, buy an empty pot and mix up a big batch.

Thanks alot guys, with a little more motivation like this I might even get back on it and get some more done!
deadly chicken wrote:can you direct me to the thread where it tells you how to make them???

Sorry dude. No thread on the making of these at all. I don't even have any wip or unpainted photos. If I ever make
any more I will be sure to blog them as I do get asked about them quite alot.
They really aren't that hard to make.
A simple hand swap for the sword arm to a mix of possessed csm, daemonette and spawn claws.
The heads are shaped roughly with clippers then filed smooth to shape. I haven't used any
greenstuff but I think I could probably improve the heads a bit if I did.

Hope this helps.

They are very nice, I especially like the complementing pink and silver on the DP, although perhaps an even lighter shade to highlight the brow and cheeks?

Thanks for the name suggestions guys. I'm not sold but still thinking.

Right then, update time.
I've been kinda busy with allsorts lately so haven't had much time for proper painting.
I've managed to paint some ultramarines: 20 marines, 5 terminators, and 2 dreads.
"Heretic!", I hear you cry. True, but I can paint Ultramarines standing on my head in bad
light whilst watching TV. I had spent little money on them and care even less about the
results. Pics of those to come in another thread when the army is finished!

OK on to the main event!!!
5 whole CSMs and a couple of daemonettes!
Not much really but work is getting quieter and I should find more time to paint soon!

That's 5 more marines done with a rhino transport.
Almost all of my Daemons done. Just 5 more Daemonettes PIP.
I've also done all of the bases so far! Woo Hoo! Static grass to come later!

I'm starting to feel like i'm getting somewhere now and i'm fairly pleased
at how the army looks as a whole.

Next up: more marines and another rhino just to give me a slightly more
useable force!

C+C welcome as always.
