Yeah, it's out in a week, but in order to give us something to talk about other than the Guard summary sheet, I'm stealing these from Warseer and posting them here:

Enjoy!

As someone who has gone through the pain and horror of assembling a 100% resin Stormblade kit, let me say that the turret/superstructure assembly in that first sprue fills my heart with equal parts joy and sorrow.

Joy that'll be so easy to put together, and sorrow that even after all this time the Stormblade still isn't put together correctly (because it can't be - it's physically impossible).

Sad to see there's no Sensors option on the sprues for the Shadowsword. Hopefully FW will remedy that quickly.

Different Forgeworld, different weapons.

I quite like the idea of the Lascannons. Strip the shields for the killing blow.

Wouldn't you rather have a pair of Lascannons rather than sensors? Besides, GW will update the Datasheet to include the Lascannons.

Yes, but the updated Shadowsword still allows you to swap lascannons for Targeters to make it BS4. And honestly, I'd prefer my Supah Lazah Cannon!!! to be BS4.

Hrm, i wonder if it's worth picking one up and a standard baneblade to see how magnetizing the top halves would work out. I've already done a magnetic barrell swap on the vanilla baneblade, could be possible to get both interchangeable...?

Have you been on a real tank? Most of the hatches are small (except the M1 loader's hatch, that thing is huge).

I actually love these models but I don't like that the turret is static, which doesn't make it a turret at all now that I think about it.

Hmmmmmm. Tasty. Since I wasn't home for valentines, and I bought my wife a toxic amount of chocolates, she decided to pre-order 3 of these for me. They should be there when I get home. Have rules been published for all the different models on this chassis?

Oh, extrememnmnmnm(54), prepare your entry into Apoc. I have 3 of these headin for my house, which means you will need to be stepping up your game. I will need proper opponents who can throw down an Apoc game in an appropriate amount of time.

That BT of yours will be a great start.

I still think the front heavy bolter mount looks sloppily done. It's like they just slapped two guns there.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

They might as well go ahead and put the bits for the second set of sponsons in there, because it's the ultimate no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.

Ok, I was at GW today picking up some superglue and a box'O'Cadians before the 20-man boxes vanish for good, and I saw the Stompa and the Shadowsword kit.

The Stompa was built and painted, and I got to hold it and look at it all over. Very cool kit. Huge amounts of detail - the plastic panneling is just crazy in the variations of different types of metal bolted onto the hull. The Grot riggers are great, and it's just a very nice kit.

The Shadowsword wasn't build yet, but I held the sprues that I posted pics of above. The Vulcan Mega Bolter barrels were smaller than expected, but then again I said the same thing when I got my Macharius so really I shouldn't be surprised. It looks so incredibly simple to put together and will be such a relief, as I said, to anyone who's ever had the misfortune of trying to force a Forgeworld Shadowsword/Stormblade/Stormsword together.

They also had the 'Stompa' issue of White Dwarf there, and I had a look through. There's a big poster with a cutaway diagram of a Stompa, which was cute. There are Grots shovelling coal inside it! LOL!

The issue doesn't have datasheets for the new Baneblade variants (except the Shadowsword and Stormlord - I didn't remember to check the Shadowsword's options, but I can say that the Stormlord has no option for two Heavy Stubbers - thanks FailWorkshop. The cool part was the other four tanks are at least explained.

I can't remember which one is which (Banehammer, Doomhammer, Banesword), but I do remember the guns.

There's the Stormsword (the existing Forge World one) is S10 AP1 10" blast 36" range. Usual story.

The Banehammer - I think - has a Quake Cannon (!!!!), which is Range "Stupid", Strength "Lots" and AP "NO SAVE FOR YOU". S10 AP2 or 1, huge range, scary tank.

Another... the Doomhammer I think... fires mole-mortar-ish shells. It wasn't specific about the rules, other than high strength low AP big blast, but troops hit by it 'have trouble moving next turn'. So diff or dangerous terrain. It does mention transport capacity on this one.

And the final one Banesword (whatever) has a 'Magma' Cannon. It's R60 S10 AP1 5" blast. It's probably Melta, or Ignores Cover, or both. Not 100% on that. The Banesword and Doom Hammer look so alike that it'd be easy to mix the two up. This one could have transport capacity.

The BatRep in that game is huge - might buy it for that alone - atonishingly huge Marine/Guard army with a Reaver, Warhound, 6 or so Baneblades (and variants), more Marines and Guard tanks than you can shake a stick at. Maybe even a Thunderbolt.

The Ork army has 16 Stompaz, including the Deff Kopta one that Taco Bell just reported, the one with the big rollawheel we saw posted a few days ago, and loads of others. Really shows off what you can do with the kit. The make the Giant Squiggoth look small.

The cool part about the battle, and I like this idea for an Apoc mission, is that rather than having JohnHwang-Pattern Generic Objectives, each commander has their own objective, and only they can score that objective, no one else can do it for them. Great for multi-player Apoc games.

That's all I have to report.

Nice find H.
I'll probably use the the shadowsword as base for my Pleaguereaper tank instead of a baneblade, as soon as I've figured out how I can attach a demolisher gun where the heavy bolters are right now.

I read the WD too. The new Stompa rules are ridicously awesome, especially the one with the deff-rolla.

So we're getting new tank variants and no indication of when the rules for those variants might be released.

That's rather refreshing.

Fingers crossed that they'll have it up around the 7th then.

Other than that, I've seen the Stormlord assembled and sprayed in my store, it looked brutal enough. Especially now that I've seen the rear deck, which thankfully isn't a large open space where the engine is supposed to be.

Did a magnet swap on the original Baneblade from GW. Looking at this one I would say that swapping between both is not a good idea, but you could magnetize this baby in a way that you can swap between the different options this kit offers.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.
