Well here is my dilema wheter to use a daemon prince with mo slaanesh and lash or a sorcerer with mo slaanesh. I understand that dp are very tough and I would probably give him wings as well. On the other hand a chaos sorcerer is also a dead killy option something about I 6 with lash a familiar and warp time, add a daemon weapon to this with a possible D6 instant death attacks this has potential to be very, very bad. I really have three questions: 1. which should I choose?, 2. If I do take the sorceror should I give him a jump pack, bike, mount or termi armor?, and 3. I plan to have typhus as the other HQ due to lore reasons and I love the model, is he worth taking and would he work well with one of the others.
Nothings Finalized but the list will go as follows:
HQ:Typhus and one of the 2 previous options
Elites: Nurgle Termies DS squad of ten and 4 to go in LR with Typhus, and in larger point games chosen with mo Khorne.
Troops: Mostly plague marines in rhinos, but also some berzerker squads in rhinos too.
Fast Attack: Big Nurgle bike squad T6 awesome!!, possibly some raptors with mo slaanesh depending on the 2nd HQ choice.
Heavey Support: Defiler, LR for termies and Typhus, and 3 oblits.
I want a good list but am also trying to avoid cookie cutter cheese list (my term for which is pizza slice list) and also Include what I like. I'm relatively new to chaos and have been playing around with several lists based on what I like and have come up with this list, thanks for any help or advice.

Well, a Sorc can't take a Daemon Wep.
You are basically down to having a DP as a big tough threat that can kill anything, or having a Sorc which you can hide and will kill munch foolish character models for the sheer lulz.
The DP is generally the better option, but a Sorc can be just as useful with a bike and a large squad of bikes with MoN (so he gets the protected with the majority toughness).
Also, don't take a famliar and a second power. You can't cast both, so you're wasting points (generally).
Another thing, the LR can be taken as a dedicated transport for the termies and not take a heavy slot.
It looks like a big list, and you're going to have to slim it down tons. Proxxy the models and play to see what you like before you buy anything. One thing to keep in mind, a Defiler will be shot off the board unless you have something absolutly terrifing to draw fire. People are just unreasonably afraid of it for some reason.

Doh, I misread the thing about the daemon weapon thought it said both lords and sorcerers, but sorcerer still has a force weapon, I knew about the LR not takeing up a heavey slot.
My reason for taking the familiar for warp time in addition to lash was to drive up with bikes lash a unit out of the way one turn and then the next turn assault another unit and use warp time to reroll those to hit and wounds and with the high Initiative force everyone to death and clean up with the rest of the squad.
I would highly regret getting rid of Typhus and therefor landraider with termies, but might lash prince with wings and lord with mo slaanesh and daemon weapon on a bike with same squad be worth it as compared to the previous alternative.
I'm going to be sticking with the defiler regardless I know it will likely get blown away but it has no upgrades so it's reasonably cheap on points, and the biggest factor is it is the only model I have currently and I got it for free, plus I like the look of it.
Thanks for the tips Darkhound and I know the list needs slimming and I will as soon as I have my HQ's in order the stuff that isn't going anywhere though are the plague marines, nurgle termies and bikes, defiler and 3 oblits.

The Familiar with Warptime is still a bad idea, as you can't use your Force Weaps power then. If you take a Lash HQ, take him as cheap as you can. Defiler is a sexy choice, I was just warning you of the death that awaits him. Bikes are VERY expensive. If you take Nurgle Bikes, give them meltas guns in a squad of 5 or 7, depending on the points, and don't take a Champ. They should be kept zooming around as a threat to tanks. Alternatively, you can give them Flamers, kit out the Champ and make them CC units though. At lower points levels (~1000), I'd just take the Lash whatever with the Defiler, 2 Oblits and fill the rest of the points with Plague Marines. That'll kinda avoid cheese and win like crazy. Just fill in the bikes and termies as the points go up, but I wouldn't take the Landraider for them untill you can take Typhus as well without screwing up the balance (at about 2k). EDIT: I was just looking, and adding a Champ with a Plasmapistol to the tank hunting bikers might help, but only if you have points to spare.

The Tzeentch sorcerer on disc with warp time and breath can also be a real powerhouse, too, especially if you're going to use raptors.
Edit: Oops, didn't see that you already had the other slot dedicated to Typhus.

Oh, well I thought you could use force weapons as well as power, then that throws that idea out the window (you can tell I really don't use psykers that often lol). I'm actually really glad that you pointed out the bit about people being threatened and going after the defiler as since i have it at base cost and options they'll shoot at that and possibly not worry about the more killy stuff. I think I'm going to start the list with what you recommended and work towards 2000, thanks again your suggestions and corrections lol have really helped a lot.

Thanks, but the reason i'm trying to go with more khorne or slaanesh rather than tzzench is because it's mostly nurgle and i wanted some units with cheaper marks so tzeench with expensive marks would kill me on pts which i'm hurting on already, but yes I had considered him and he is very killy.

Depending on the points cost you're playing, the DP can be better, or the sorcerer can be better. At 1500+ points, a T5 3/5+ DP is really not very durable at all, they actually die to small-arms fire quite easily.
Since you've only got one source of lash, the user is going to be priority #1 for your opponent, so the sorc is probably the better option in most games.

Typhus isn't great, 2x DP is the way to go.
I'd rather have 1x Sorc, MoS, Lash than 1x DP, Mos, Wings, Lash because I can bury the sorc in a unit.

Doing this you gain utility at the cost of power. More often than not it is not a good trade. Being able to lash a couple of extra times in a game does not make up for the lack of a WS7 S6 A4 winged nasty. Its the difference between being able to get rid of a threat and just being able to move it.
Of course if your army has a higher than usual amount of templates (maxed out oblits + NMs with blastmasters) then being able to use lash a few more times may well win you the game, but this is the exception rather than the rule.

Heres the list I'm considering
DP mos
Typhus with 4 termies w/ lc's in a possessed lr.
10 termies
(possibly a unit of chosen with moc, lightnig claws and i'll summon a blood thirster through them at bigger pts.)
3X 10 man plague marines with 2 plasma, 2 flamers, and 2 meltas spred through the squad (this may change) in a rhino with combi melta
1X 10 man khorne berzerkers in rhino with combi melta
7-10 bikes w/ mon
1 defiler, base cost
3 oblits (more points then more oblits)
what I want to know is is their another lord opition, sorcerer or character that is better for the landraideri really only want 1 dp to avoid cheese, and I would like another hq so are any other non dp hq's a better option to put in the lr than typhus

DP's gonna get gunned down in that list. IMO take a sorcerer and put it in a rhino with the berzerkers. He can use Lash out of the top hatch.

Right, I'm back!
That list is huge. You're going to have to figure out at what points levels you take whichever. I have to disagree with Willy though, the DP should be fine between a Landraider with Typhus and a Defiler.
Using the Chosen for a Greater Daemon is close to what I do with my list. At 1500pts, fielding that a Lash Prince, a Defiler, a couple oblits and a solid core of Plague Marines and maybe a Karmoon Special (if you have the points) should be enough threats.
Like I said though, Typhus shouldn't really show up until 2k. Either that, or take him instead of the Lash (until both at 2k). He'll basically always need a Landraider to get anywhere though, which will destabilize your list.
Oh, also consider Lesser Daemons instead of Khorne Berserkers if you take a DP and take the Chosen with IoCG. They don't get bogged down like Berserkers and perform basically the same roll and can be a threat from anywhere with a personal icon.

I think your right about making the chosen IoCG instead of khorne, i'm going to have to pass on the lesser daemons though.
What do you mean by Karmoon special? (sry if it's really obvious I just couldn't firgure it out.)
I'll definately be slimming down the list until i get to the 2k-3k range, it will prlly be:
Lash Prince
10 termies (mon)
3X 10 plague marines in rhinos
defiler
and 3 oblits
any ideas on the weapons for termies I know reaper auto canon is ruled (sadly) out so i was thinking heavey flamer, chain fist, and some combi meltas and lightning claws thrown in would be could, but what ammounts of each in the squad?

Well, a Karmoon Special is 5 or so deepstriking termies all with combi-plas. They drop in, waste a squad/light tank and take a ton of fire to kill before the next turn. As for the termy builds, I only really use them as a vanguard for my Sorc. Some general rules I've picked up are: if you give someone dual lightning claws make him a Champ too, only give them Icons at larger numbers (which you have), combi-weps are sexy, but don't go overboard, and if your list is lacking anti-tank a Reaper Autocannon may be permitted. Combi-weps work best in a suicide squad as they will only get 1 shot anyway, so you should probably only take a couple combi-melts as a just-in-case. See what you have the squad end up doing as you play your list and tailor it for that. 3x10 plague marines is generally overkill. You can run them in 7's and buy the base of that Chosen squad. Cut out a some termies and make them deepstrikers, get a greater daemon and you'll have 4 threats on the board. The Chosen, the Lash Prince, the Plague Marines and the heavy support. If you want to run the list the way it is (and it isn't by any means bad) I would certainly take the Reaper Autocannon. It would take so long to get in flamer range you'd be justified spending the extra 20 points.

I was going to go with 7 man squads of pm but everyone told me no ten man ten man, I'll start with the 7 cheaper anyway on points and models.
I was also going to go with wings on the dp, is this a good option or not worth the points, i've seen most take the wings, but I figured I should check.
Again thanks to everyone for the help especially Darkhound, btw love your avatar lol.

Thanks, no problem and yes, Wings are basically manditory. 7 man squads will suffice until 2k. I run them in 5's at under 1000pts and they've shrugged off a Fire Warrior rapid fire with average rolls. Their save is the same as a terminator's (83%), not to mention MoN. They get expensive to run at 10 mans. With 2 10 mans you could have 3 7 mans that look just as menacing, if not more so, for a little more. Something I should mention though: I don't use champs upgraded for them, because I use the Greater Daemon in basically all of my lists, but you should really give him a Power Fist, incase a tank tries to contest the objective or a MC tries to kill your expensive dudes. If you add your bikes, then Typhus and his friends on your way up to 2k points, you shouldn't need to 10 man them.
