I am human, I did miss you, despite popular opinion

[Stares ahead] I would... do my duty. But that doesn't mean I'd agree with it.

I don't hold one life above others. But to say we could lose humanity, I very much doubt we still have it at all.

Say we win, we stand victorious, who were we even fighting for at this point? The citizens who man the factories and administration that fuel the crusades? The men dying in their millions for an end goal they won't see? Children scrubbed of childhood, like I was?

What if this was the momment hopeis rekindled. Long since we had hope, just trying to lose less than it cost to save the empire. Carry that on, we may last 10,000 years more but will die in the end.

I am not utilizing primitive Inquisition memory wipe techniques. Amnestics erase recent memories, and the brain fills in false memories. The side effects are very rare, trust me.

Thank you, Miss. And I had a run in with an old running partner. We had lost touch when a job went wrong and some of us were caught and imprisoned, while the rest of us escaped. I had tried to keep an idea of their whereabouts and free them someday, but it wasn't a task a young Kroot could do. Now, she had managed to escape as the sole survivor of the group and and blamed those who escaped, and me being a Shaper hasn't improved her mood.

To put things simply, she had some frustration to vent, and I felt like I had owed her something for all of her problems. I've got a few bruised bones and sores to show for it, but I hope she's a bit less angry at the others for what happened. It's a shame, really, but at least she's alive.
