I'm assembling a chimera and I thought about it and I really don't like the Lasgun hanging out of the back of the chimera so I wanted to see if this would look ok? Just a slip of patterned plasticard over the hole so the riders if they want to can simply slide the armor aside and fire out.



Yes to the plasticard or stick to the guns out the back?

That's what I did, the guns are ugly. It's fine in gaming terms, I should guess.

from what i understand the new rules for the chimera state that "any" 5 weapons can shoot from it. So it looks like those lasguns are meaningless anyway.

looks like an improvement to me. Is it textured like a metal rolldown gate? like on the front of a liquer store?

Yeah the glare didn't show it well but they are small 1 mm square cubes like tile.

this is the same tile I used for my extra armor shown here.

thats cool too, basically anything is better than those weedy little flashlights. In My opinion of course

Im on the bandwagon man. Those lasguns sticking out always looked tacky to me. Nice fix lol

I did that too. If you paint it like glass, it also looks pretty good.


Edit: Funnily enough, when I did this, I didn't have any super glue. So, to put the card there, I cut it out so that the frame usually used to keep the lasguns in place is holding it in place.

Those lasguns sucked anyway.... so a major improvement for the tank!

you can also run spare track links over the holes to hide them. I do like the glazed effect though. Nice one!

I think I prefer the windows but the sliding shutter fits the rules better...

I like the glass , but since mine are built iam going to shave down the circle frames and add hatches 2 on each side and use the double doors as the 5 fire points .

On my recent Hellhounds, I ground down the portholes and armored over the area with a single plate. On the Chimeras I'm doing soon, I plan on doing some SoB Repressor-esque rectangular ports.

This post got me inspired to sit at the painting table and get some work done . Almost got the whole chimera done ! , but more on topic here is what I did with the fire points since it was built i shaved down the holes like I posted earlier and made these hatches 2 on each side 5th fire point is the hatch on the rear top center .

Yeah. I never liked the standard Russ models. More here.

Flinty your tanks look awsome ! , with that said I still happen to like the chunkieness of the russes . I will be starting a blog soon on my take of the cadians I have alot of guard ( steel , legion , cadians , a drop troop force , and the beginings of dkok ) but I love the fluff and books on cadia and am doing my take on them should be fun .
