I say the Imperium is the most evil of all the races. We have the light of the Emperor. Through His suffering we are cleansed. Through His power we are defended. Through His sacrifice we live.

Yet, daily countless citizens of the Imperium turn their backs on our Holy Emperor! Oh, the horror and shame of it! Little more than beasts they prize their comfort and the brief length of their days more than our God Emperor.

No matter how many we burn, we judge, we persecute, our race is never clean. Every new generation a new brood of vipers and traitors is spawned. Oh Emperor...forgive us!

By all means dark eldar and chaos are evil too, but atleast they are honest about it.

True, Chaos at least is being evil for some kind of twisted good reason (preservation of the Immaterium). DE are just plain bad. (They get their jollies from torture, real S & M garbage stuff there.)

The only people who are not evil are the Necrons and Nids, simply because they dont have feelings at all. Orks Might be malicious, which could be construed as evil i guess.

And to get back onto the Tau, oh yeah, they are all sunshine and rainbows untill you look into what they actually do:

He never said good, just the least evil. It is the difference between a corporate trial lawyer and a bureaucrat. They are both evil, just the bureaucrat almost serves a purpose.

But he did finish with least evil. At least he acknowledged it was there.

How can Chaos be winning for most evil?!?

Chaos represents wild abandon of the individual (albeit in perverted and oppressive ways) and each Chaos god actually represents functions of the natural world (again perverted to the extreme).

The Empire represents ignorance, repression and racism (true racism not our earthbound ethnocentrism). There is no identity. You are born to die for a catatonic zombie on a toilet and taught to fear anything and everything which you don't understand.

Better free in hell than a slave in heaven. I can understand why so many go to Chaos. Of course, maybe it is just two different sides of the same coin, two extreme swings of the pendulum, two.... Okay, enough cliches'. Just some thoughts, I don't really know if I had a point to make.

This is how I view it all:
Tyranids: Animalistic instincts following a hive mind. Nothing terrible.
Necrons: Kind of Borg-esque from what I understand.
Orks: Give in to their desires, which happens to be killing.
Chaos: Desire and instinct embodied, though the Chaos Marines are evil, considering they are traitors.
Eldar: A dying race trying to cling to survival.
Imperium: An empire run off of ignorance, which while bad, unifies them in a certain way.
Tau: Evil, as Gwar said.

Most of them are evil but the most evil are Dark Eldar, and here is why:

Firstly ill start with Chaos, THEY ARE NOT THE MOST EVIL! they are beyond evil hence the name Chaos! for good and/or evil to exist there needs to be some sort of order in order to carry out the good or evil. Chaos is just random madness influenced by either the Chaos gods or impulse of the individuals themselves. But yes there are ordered attacks directed by the Chaos Lords and/or Gods but not enough to be actually evil.

Tyranids, well they are mindless really. They do things that are considered evil but they dont have a consious mind or an intention of doing evil so therefore are not 'evil'.

Tau, hehehe well there is a thought. Now I have collected Tau on the side and have the latest codex so here is my statement about them: FOR THE GREATER GOOD!! [sarcastic cough], if by greater good they mean from the day you are born you are put into a 'job' wheither it be Fire, water, air or earth and then work in that job for the rest of your life untill either you die or you die! simple as that.

Necrons, pretty much like Tyranids but are evil because the Lords still have a mind and a personality so THEY are evil but as a whole not much.

Orks, hey what can i say they're Orks

Imperium, well......they gotta survive so if this is the system they got [even though it could be improved] then it needs to be done and enforced.

Eldar, same as the imperium, they dont have much choice.

Now Dark Eldar well........there is evil! Torture for fun, practically living of it! Pirate attacks to enslave beings to build torture chambers in which they will be tortured in untill they die, be rescued or some other third thing. I've read that they tear out the victims heart and let it hang infront of them while keeping them alive for 12days! Seriously not even Chaos does that [and they do some nasty S%&t] so yeah Dark Eldar = Most Evil race!

Now I think of it, I would argue that Chaos itself may not be evil, but the followers of evil themselves are, such as the CSM.

Most game-universe have a divide, one side good, one side evil. In all of them chaos plays the evil part.
So its always Evil = chaos.

Those loosers of the great war? needing to ambush to win because they can't fight 1 on 1 and succeed?

I think that there was a mention in some fluff that the DE torture to survive.

Well it's all a matter of perception,but I think the DE take the cake because of their weird,erotic,I like touching myself with that severed head,kind of fluff.

When you look at it really, the Imperium are the worst. Externally they seem no worse then the Tau or Eldar, they do some mean stuff, but are good.

However, they are the complete opposite. They may not be the sadistic evil of DE, or the horror of Chaos, but they are trying to eradicate all other races...COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY. They are like the Nazi's of the 41st millenium.

Without them, the whole thing wouldn't be in such a ferocious war.

are we talking about evil as an abstract trait used as an adjective? if so id say chaos because they CHOSE to betray our immortal Emperor. if we are talking about something that is evil because it is a threat to the galaxy, nids for sure.
