He's put all the rear bits on the back though.

I think it looks amazing at the moment

LordRogalDorn, I did initially try the torso the other way around and I really didn't like it. I like how this way it almost looks like it has a chest. thanks for the suggestion though.

Progreen10 Cheers mate.

Although I hope that Biohazard maybe came up with just the perfect idea for the head in his drunken stupor If so, let us hope he wrote it down

Only works if you're building orky stuff: no straight edges, no 90 degree angles, etc.

One thing you might find amusing when you've sobered up again: Remember when you used those Defiler fingers as ears to make that over the top doggy head just for fun? Looky here:

Ooook, it took me a while to see where I was going with that last post but I see now.
Thanks Kraut Ive seen that titan before in fact it was that very model that inspired my one. If you look back up a few posts you'll see bobpanda is a member here as well and hes commented on this thread ( )

I went into my LGS today and picked up a couple of paints/washes for the Star Phantoms im doing for the Badab War challenge over on Bolter and Chainsword. I also picked up something else that I didnt intend to.

The good thing is it means I can now make both of my chaos dreads claws the same. The bad is do I paint him up as a Worldeater or a Star Phantom?????

I blame Guitarasmus. Ive had a couple of ideas in my head for at least two more Chaos Dreads and was happy enough to wait and see what the new dreads might be like, but when he posted his Nurgle one last night it just blew me away and I wanted another dread now! Lol.

Star Phantoms? Nice. I've thought of doing some of those guys, too, but I keep telling myself to focus on the Fire Hawks. Good luck in the competition. Will you be posting pics here as well? I'd really love to see how they come out.

I never actually thought to post pics here as well. I might start another thread so they dont get absorbed into the WE though. Im working on the test marine paint scheme at the moment. Painting white is bloody hard lol

You know in your heart that there can only be one answer to this question. *cough* Jugger head *cough*

In all fairness though, it'll probably be a fantastic conversion no matter what colour you paint it

Oh, and concerning GuitaRasmus: Don't go there, mate! The stuff that guy builds is off the charts

Any news of the Titan head, btw?

Tell me about it! The really spooky thing is that he managed to have exactly the same modelling idea as me not once, not twice but THRICE already! That wourlnd't be so bad in itself, but my models always end up looking kinda okay while his...well, you get the picture

Bitter? I'm not bitter?

Oh, did I mention you need to paint that Dread as a World Eater? In case I didn't: You totally need to paint that Dread as a World Eater!

Ok so Krautscientist votes Star Phantoms
Any other votes? It will be converted to have a similar head as the WE one but I think I might have a go at building a shooty Dread this time.

If you're going for a shooty dread, then it should be Star Phantoms. The fluff for Star Phantoms suggests they leg long-range heavy-weapon devastators, so that would fit well.

Thanks guys Ive been away messing about and as I was cutting it from the sprue Id decided it would be Star Phantoms (sorry Krautscientist next month! ) and Yellowbeard youre right they prefer melta/plasma weaponry as well which could be fun. Im thinking of making it a kinda twin of the Chaos one. Ill use the CCW that I take off the Chaos one and may use the skull plate again but have it posed differently and obviously it will be covered in Aquilas and purity seals. The black/white looks good too.

Oh well, you can't win them all, I guess

Building a loyal Dread has one big advantage though: You're allowed to use all those fantastically detailed armour plates with all the names of the different campaigns, since it's a loyal Dread. It does even say Badab somewhere on there, right? When I had to cover up that detail when building my Chaos Dread, I died a little inside, since it looks so cool.

So there's a good side to your decision after all I'm sure the blood god will understand...
