Krautscientist I will be building another Khorne dread whos has been coaxed from the 4th. And youre right there is a lot of cool detail on the Ven Dread.

Tipios, if youre asking if the skull plate fits between the shoulders it does but only in limited positions. I will be building the torso and neck up like the chaos one. Ill start carving out the marine torso in the morning.

Thanks for the shout out, mate!

tipios, I really didn't do anything to the torso of the Ven Dread: I only added the skull mask on top, and it fit perfectly. For a time, I had considered one of the armour plates that come with the kit (especially the one that looks like an armoured gorget), but in the end I discarded those because the Marine torso in the middle of the sarcophagus is just too awesome.

If you do want to combine one of the armour plates with a Defiler mask, though, you'll have to do a bit of cutting to make it work - or you'll have to build up some kind of neck, like Biohazard said.

Hope this helps!

Heres where Im at just now and calling it quits for tonight. Ive dug out the marine torso it aint pretty under there and just tacked the front plate of the Sarcophogus on at the moment. Like I say Im trying for an almost Imperial mirror image of the Chaos Dread (who Im now going to be naming Krueger the Undying ) Let me know what you think.

Great looking dread, and I love those powerclaws!

My only CC is that it doesn't really look imperial. With the Skull helm and power claw it looks like a Chaos mirror image of the Chaos dread Have you thought about doing a bit of sculpting on the helmet? I think you could make it look like an oversized marine helmet quite easily...

In other news, when do we get to see the final version of the head for your titan?

Keep up the good work!

I see what you're saying buddy but if you check out the Star Phantoms newer scheme that have skulls everywhere. Once its blinged up a little more and painted it should be fairly clear......hopefully. Or I could just say that it's Kreuger before he fell to Chaos?

As for the Titan........you'll just have to wait and see lol :p

If you cover up a bit more of the lower half of the face, so it's just showing the nose and eyes, I think it might look better. The skulls on their badge do look sinister like the mask Or even cut out the parts below the cheeks, and just leave the teeth.

Dread's coming along nicely, mate! The strange part is that I had just decided to use the epithet "The Undying" for my new Dread too. I mean it's quite fitting for a Dread, but that's almost too much of a coincidence.

WHY do I always have exactly the same idea as another person at the same time?

Oops. There goes Elias. Lol.
I need to work on the position of the head on the imperial one and I'm also thinking of converting his legs to a similar pose to Kreuger. I quite like the idea of him stepping down from a step/ debri eyeing up his next victim and sparking his claw.

I've also decided the Imperial Dread shall be known as Valerius the Elder. Guess what I've been watching?

Dude, and I even double checked on the Spartacus-Wiki! There actually IS a character of that name, even though his role mainly seems to consists of dying in a spectacular fashion

Anyway, that's what I get for trying to be smart, I guess

I think that some of the skulls on the Temple of Skulls are seperate pieces, which could be nifty for your titan. Plus, the Temple of Skulls is awesome.

Agreed I do like the look of the Temple of Skulls. I have an idea for a display board for the WE that I may look at implementing in the future. As for the skull head it is still a possibility but I'm still looking at a couple of other options.

hey Bio, I love what you're doing in your thread. I've tried to duplicate some of the front mask swaps you've done on your berserkers, but due to "shaky" hands from some bad nerves, I haven't had much success.

Do you have any particular little tricks you use to do them? I really like the fact you have more than the same 4 face plates being repeated over and over lol.

Chaplain Cy Im really sorry man I didnt realise you had posted in here. I dont realy have any tips rerally apart from take your time and keep a file handy. My first attempts were not always successful and some of them were just terrible. But if you really take your time with it and file it down right you can get away with very little GS work.

Right guys, not much of an update more of an 'Im still alive' post. Long story short Ive been pretty ill lately but starting to get over it now and itching to get working on the WE again.

Here are a few pics of the Gorehound let me know what you think.

I think I may have squared it off a bit too much and obviously there is still loads of gap filling/detailing etc to be done. Im waiting on a Stormtalon cockpit coming my way from the US and that will hopefully be the base of the final head.

And an older picture that I wish was better quality as I love the pose of the Titan

Good to have you back, Biohazard!

I was looking at the above pic and had an idea (the worth of which will be determined by you )

What about:
Spoiler:

I think it gives a more predatory, fast feel than the other way. This theory is proven by the number of people running away with this version compared to the old one I realize that it would probably be a lot of work (at least more than my MSPaint time investment) but I thought I should at least pass it on. Let me know what you think!

Also, love the new name: "Gorehound"!

Keep up the great work!

Hey Biohazard! I hope you're recovering well.

I' curious to see how you're going to work an the stormtalon cockpit

I agree with Rawson's suggestion. Your hull is fine but turning it this way would make the neck junction look better and -more important- stronger.

Thanks for the well wishes and suggestion guys, I've looked at turning the hull round a few times during the build but I have to say I just can't get it to something I'm happy with. The neck joint on the existing build will be bulked up a lot as well once I settle on a head.

Ps Rawson, the little dudes running away just made my day Brilliant

One thing that could help would be a "cowl" made from plasticard or something, to add bulk and shield the neck.

Also, it NEEDS a giant clawed skeletal fist.
