smallish addition here for you to oggle on... made as suggested by dantay a airrecognition sign on the two sponsons... the paintjob will be alternated as it is currently... so red will switch with white...used paper cut to pattern and thus i hope to get some raised detail too there...will keep you updated on this hopefully tonight... Automatically Appended Next Post: well this is the possible automatic attached update as promised...
the aerial recognition completed and also i detailed the turret in every space between the fretworks... all additions aren´t completed this is the task for tomorrow...

Sweet work indeedy
Love the shields/crests on the turrets
The only thing am not sure of are the kill markings Vik
This is prolly just a hangover from typical scale modelling pedantry, but they are over scale.
In real life they would be no bigger than a couple of inches.

chibi do you mtalk about those big "templar" crosses? they are there for the campaings the tank fought in... the kill markings are on the other side with a small tank and a small plane...but i see where you are coming from... i have to rethink about these campaingsigns...

No the campaign signs are fine Vik
Scratch what I said matey, I was being dense. Just seen a pic of an artillery piece using a Kill Marking system like you have used, with tank and plane symbols.
The kill markings may still be a bit over scale but is not a big deal.

i still know where your coming from, you have a point nevertheless...the thing is the marks on the tank killpoints is from the Leman russ decal set, so thought myself secure in the realms of the justified^^ the campaign signs are a bit too german looking for my taste atm but one day maybe they will make more sense as i would like to make a chaosy IG army based on the warzone minis...got quite a few of them and they will be more of a WWI style of german troops then so the iron cross is rather a mocking of the arch enemy...
also about the size one more thought... they are for pure show off effect... so i guess any good crew would love to make thema s big as possible to show friends and foes alike how good they are...^^

have you got any ideas as to what models it will involve and what will they be doing?
I was thinking maybe "connor", the scout with the pistol, could feature

oh the major idea behind this is to make a two walled and ground diorama that can feature any model i make in the future... i am sick of the white background and need some stimulus when making pics....so a basic landscape and such things... funny you should mention connor the scouting pistol wielder, had him in my hands this very day and thought it was high time he got a treatment ^^

thaanks mates, i dreamed abou one day making scenic pics with the minis... that is of course if i have one day enough painted minis, models and terrain to go... as for the foam carving tho it was quite tedious it should have been even more tedious as when i do it next time i try to make the indvidual stones smaller...or what do you think? currently the bricks are about 1.5 times as big as a cadian torso...too big? or just right.... wanted to do them in a brwonstone kind of look...

Not really Vik Wouldn't worry overmuch as the bulding with the arches is of some size and eminence. iirc the bath stone in Bath are large and also some of the blocks in tenemants in Glasgow A torso is only a couple of feet and I am guessing the blocks in this pic of a smaller building are not far off: Am liking the dio matey Edit: They stone here is probably a bit smaller looking again, but I still wouldn't worry about it as the size of the stone blocks in your fictional setting is highly plausible imho What I would say however, to save you some time, is that although the lower storey has very deeply rescessed lines between the rows for decorative purposes, the upper storey is tightly faced. This could be easily represented by drawing the lines with a pencil and require no carving.

It looks great man, no worries. Sometimes, the smaller you carve, the worse it looks, as seen in one of my 20mm scratchbuilt buildings

thanks chibi for the reassuring comments and all the more for the refference pic, something along this lokk i had in mind when going into full carving^^ by the way, the carving was done a couple of weeks ago and i tried before to make a dioframe by cardboard but some things just have to have a certain stability to it, lest it falls over itself once you really want to squeeze some use out of it^^ so i used the multiplex i think it is called for the frame , the foam as said before was of stock i had when restarting my modeling...in fact mostly leftovers form the tankmaking really but i can´t helping securing bigger peices for further needs... i am for that like an old women keeping used strings^^
dsteingass, lovley building, and no misstake! the wood effect only gets betsed by the feel of the stones in the lower floor! don´t humble yourself because then you humble us all! is that all foam or what else did you use?
well neil mostly tedious work, as each line i carved had to be carved in two direction to get that slightly curved feel to the brickwork. glad you like it^^
small update, i have sort of primed the foam and the frame with cheap wall paint in black for a first coat and i think after drying i will aply at least a second black coat and then i start drybrushing same color as first installment of my tank got... the ocker color...:
then washes for the lines of the stones...also i will try myself to make a scenic skyeffect but i think this might be above my current abilities for now but it has to be done^^
then i ponder what to do with the ground... some of my models have muddy bases and i wanted to go for a muddy feel to the dio ground too... or should i go the grassland fell? or for that matter should i do a cobblestone look and if so how???
cheers, vik
