Ooohh, Paranoia Agent, ehat an awesome anime. It gets strange like all hell, but very cool! The OP is one of my favorites, it's so nuts.

Welp, Grimgar has my love. Those 20 mns just flew by, I'm excited for more. From the preview, either someone dies or they kill their first goblin.

In either case, I'm loving the Dark Knight. Usually cocky as hell isn't my cup of tea save rare exceptions (Kamina 4ever) but he's so damn fun.

Wow it's been a while since I've been here new thread and all that( yeah really It's been a while)

I just started watching Paranoia Agent I'm on ep 7 atm...strange as hell but yet somehow I just need to know what happens next. It was the opening that got me to give it a shot....weird as hell but some how interesting.

I also hear they are finally doing Ep 6 for Hellsing Abridged...bout damn time I reckons.

"Erased" is such a roller coaster of emotions sadness, disgust, happiness, fear, I went through them all in this episode. The end was straight out of a Disney movie, it was so beautiful <3

Erased is probably one of the best pieces of drama I've seen in modern anime. Like these kids feel like real kids, the tension, the home life seems very realistic. Listen up Jun Maeda, this is how you write a good drama.

I'm going to be sad in 9 weeks when this is over.

I'm not sure what's worse, the sheer length of this particular Naruto filler arc, or that they released a movie that spoils some of the ending stuff that hasn't happened in the series yet.

Probably the filler. If you're talking about the Boruto movie, remember, the manga ended over a year ago and it's been 6 months since the side story came out. For the most part, the anime industry lives to increase the sales of the source manga, so the movie being released makes sense from that point of view. The file is worse because there's no reason for it to exist anymore...

Also, Kishimoto is writing a Boruto manga that comes out this spring, sooooo the movie is most likely also an advertisement for that. :/

So, we finished death parade and this is my second time watching it in the anime club. and I realise why I hate it, it blatantly contradicts itself.
there are rules for what an arbiter is. number one is "an Arbiter cannont stop being an arbiter, for that is why they exist" except in the series, you see one clearly stop being one.
and the fact that it says they have no "Human" emotions despite every one of them having emotions.

I quite loved it, tbh. Many scenes moved me to tears, and I found the ice skating scene to be stunning.
About what you said, yeah, but don't forget our main arbiter is an experiment. Nona wanted to change the system so she implanted human emotions in Decim. The Red-haired dude, Ginti, that one I have no explanation, he clearly has a distaste for humans. Quin, the one Arbiter who quit being arbiter, and I quote the wiki:

"Quin is the only arbiter that seems to have been exempted from the first of the Four Rules, as she eventually stopped making judgements and moved on to working in the Information-Processing Bureau."

In all honesty, I blame this on "having a friend in high places." Nona clearly is her friend AND she needed a spot to run her experiment, so she managed to promote Quin and get a bar for Decim.

The funny part is that we have no idea what arbiters are. They never fully explained their origin, we only know from the rules ( "Arbiters cannot feel emotion, for they are dummies.") that they shouldn't feel emotion because they are judges. That "Cannot" in the rules makes me think they have at least some emotions, they just shouldn't use them when judging. If they didn't have emotions at all, why do they need a rule? (and yes, I do understand this is at the same time silly, because Nona's experience consists of having an arbiter filled to the brim with human emotions)
Ya know, like in real life, there are many things you shouldn't do when it's personal because of your emotions.

Grimgar is interesting.

I know they are doing world and character building, but man it feels slow.

Except Ginti Clearly has emotions, as does Quin. they both clearly have emotions at many times, but the show expects us to think they all have no emotions?

Exactly. Like I said, Ginti has a clear distaste for humans, that's an emotion. Quin, she shows lots of love for alcohol and she's friends with Nona; I don't think anyone would be friend with a mindless dummy. That's why I can only assume the rule means they shouldn't judge using their emotions but Decim is the experiment proving it would actually be good if they did.

I dunno, I admit there's lots of contradictions for me to "get it".

And about Grimgar, yeah, I agree. It's getting REALLY slow.

Panzer was an ok series, I just disliked how they kept changing the rules to make the heroes even bigger underdogs in each match.

it seemed like that, But I think it might have been an escalation like thing, where most other schools could afford to escalate, they could not.
I had some gripes, wish I had more of it.

There's a movie out that will hopefully get a release someday.

I really wish Sentai had a freaking budget to do better dubs and releases -the GuP dub is okay, but you can tell if they had some more time they coulda done better. /rant

Hardly the first series to have a set of rules stated by some central authority that are then contradicted by the lives and actions of the characters. A lot of stuff with robots, androids or artificial intelligence is all about this.

I figured it was either him or the dark knight, but his death flags were just too huge and too many this episode.

I have to say, I'm glad it was him; The Dark Knight probably is the only character I like.

I find it interesting how much the animes either make me care extra hard about the characters or just not give a damn.

In Erased:
Spoiler:
I was having this feeling in my gut everything was going too well. I absolutely love that character and seeing her happy at the party, made me so so happy; yet, at the same time, I was scared something was gonna happen. It's the classic setup: Make the situation extra nice and beautiful so when gak hits the fan, it just hits EXTRA HARD.
I was NOT expecting it to happen so fast; when it ends with that cliffhanger, with just "She's late today" I went into full "NO! NO! NOOOO! DON'T YOU DARE, MOTHERF*CKERS, DON'T YOU F*CKIGN DARE". I REALLY care about Erased' characters and the idea she's dead, oh hell NO!

In Grimgar:
Spoiler:
I couldn't give less of a feth about someone dying. In fact, I was happy. Something actually happened. The anime was trying to shove feelings down my throat with everyone crying, everyone going "OH NO, OUR FRIEND IS DEAD" and there I was, not giving a single feth about it.
In fact, I'm actually more curious about the Goblin party than them at this point. Goblins can be absolute badasses! The blue one was amazing, the dude was using sword techniques, used crossbows like a boss and he seemed to be the leader to boot!

So Snow White just took an interesting turn.

Spoiler:
Pirates. Of course it would be pirates (not a complaint just sarcasm.)

And Dimension W decided
Spoiler:
for a brief genre switch into cliche haunted hotel but with cyber punk.

Which I'm cool with. Now then, my copy of season one of Familiar of Zero just arrived, so I need to get on that.

Anime has like never moved me before. like never. I found a few things sad, maybe even a bit bummed(IM LOOKING AT YOU BLACK LAGOON)
But my god, that Shiki OVA, I cried at the end, that was such a gut wrencher. I couldnt even.......When he started sticking them with the metal rod and the women smiled, I balled like a baby.
