My aim is to create a representation of each of the character classes from Team Fortress 2, in the form of imperial guardsmen. This will be a first for me, in that it's a project that I've thought about beforehand, and I intend to get right to the end of it. Work has already begun.

The Medic
"Another successful proceedure!"

The medic is basically complete. There are a few details need adding (connecting hose, medigun handle) but the rest is done.
The legs, torso and head are all from the Cadian Command Squad box. The medigun is made from a flamer, a grenade launcher, and the end was cut from a missile launcher (I had one cut up already).
The left arm is a grenade launcher arm, the right is a flamer arm. Both have had the shoulderpads removed, and the hand of the flamer arm was rotated 90 degrees.
The backpack is made from a cut-down vox-caster, part of a tau fusion blaster, and some detail from a heavy bolter I had lying around.

This is not completely accurate to the source, though I have tried to incorporate details where I was able. I would have liked to have had a head with glasses, but the one I found was pretty close, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna try fiddling around with anything that small. The medigun is also not technically accurate, but I like this version so much I don't feel it's worth changing.

This is the basic form the rest of the project will take; not technically accurate in all respects, but representational of as much of the original material as possible. Anyway, once based and painted, they should look coherant enough.

Coming up next: progress on the Soldier.

Heh, I had the same idea, but with orks. Anyway, it looks pretty cool. Good luck with the future ones. Don't forget to remove moldlines.

I actually started the soldier first, but ran into difficulty making the rocket launcher arm. Anyway, here's what I've got so far.

I don't usually do a lot of sculpting, so I'm quite happy with what I've managed to do on this one. Had to file down a regular armoured torso so I could sculpt back up to coat, though I didn't bother at the back.
Also filed off the pockets on the legs. The helmet I believe is from The Assault Group, but the rest is standard cadian stuff.

All in all there's still plenty of work need doing (other arm, some minor grey stuff work) but I'm pretty happy with the way it's going. Not sure which I'll do next though, as I'll likely need more cash.

I dunno...

Hehe, gotta love soldiers

"If fighting is to result in victory then you must fight! Sun Tzu said that! And I'd say he knows a more about fighting than you, pal, because he invented it, then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honour. Then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on Earth, then he herded them onto a boat and then he beat the crap out of every single one. And, from that day forward, any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a Zoo!

Unless it's a farm!"

The medigun is the medic's primary "weapon". It heals your teammates.

It doesn't have to make sense. Its just a game mechanic to allow the medic class to fulfil its primary role. Also the idea of a healing gun is inherently amusing

Well then allow me to offer you a teaser...imagine this fellow in a ski mask.

Re: the scout, I'm actually still looking for ideas on how to do that one. I've got a source for a baseball bat, and probably the head as well, but an appropriate body would be helpful. I could also use a good source for a sniper head.

Did a little bit of work last night on the soldier; managed to attach the launcher to the arm in a way that actually works. It's not my best work, but I really don't want to have to start that whole bit again. I only have so many missile launchers to butcher!

Scratch that. I had a breakthrough on the rocket launcher problem last night; it's now nearly complete. Just got the bit at the end to do now.

And here's how it looks attached to the soldier.

Well, after taking delivery of my new spy model, trying to sculpt a mask, failing, then leaving the thing on the side for weeks, I gave it another go.

I have to say this was one of the fiddliest things I've ever done. Still, I'm happy with the results.
All that remains to do now is finish the rest of the head, but the hard part's out of the way now.

The original model (which I forgot to photograph) can be found here.

I can tell you here if you'd like

Started by filing down the hair and ears (though in retrospect I should've left the ears). Then it was just a matter of getting pieces of greystuff the right size, shape, and thickness. For this I mainly use a scalpel, and a metal pointy thingy for poking/smoothing jobs. Might post pics of my tools/workspace later.

I did the mask in stages; thin, rectangular piece over the brow, then a very thin, rectangular piece under the eyes. This was the hardest part to get right, but once it was roughly in place I could press it down over the face. Once that was shaped to my satisfaction I joined up the first two pieces with very small bits at the sides, so that the eyes were totally enclosed. Hard part over.

After that, covering the jawline was child's play. I did briefly toy with the idea of giving him a cigarrete, but I think I'd have a stroke if I tried something that fiddly.

Picked up a catachan command box today, and started work on the Demoman.

Also had a few ideas re: the sniper, so that may be the next one after this is finished.

I hop you make a display base for these or something because they are worth of it indeed !

Have you decided which team they wilbe on ?

I had considered a display base, yes. I'll have to give it some serious thought round about the time I base all these guys. I was thinking I'd go either desert, or industrial/base interior. Any thoughts as to which you think would be better?

As for team colour - Red, what else
