Fresh from tinkering with the gubbins of WFRPG, FFG are releasing Chaos Marauders from the olden days of GW!

It involves creating your own warband and defeating the other gitz warbands.

Loved the oconography of the original and the redo looks just as good.

there is plenty of detail on the FFG website!

I have the original from 20 years ago. It's quite a fun game and easy to get non-tabletop gamers who like board games to play it with you. My wife and I used to play this game for hours and probably played it a hundred times or more.

Don't you just love it when a company gives us big lavish full-colour previews of upcoming products, allows the hype to build through positive reinforcement and designer dairies, and generally does a good job of getting the word out about their great up and coming new releases.

Pity there's a certain English company in Nottingham that fails at this every day of the week, and then tries to make us feel 'dirty' for seeking information via 'rumours'.

I'm excited about this. Honestly anythin FFG releases these days pretty much gets me going. Their quality is superb and the things they do with the GW IP is very impresive. I wish they would have been the ones to do Space Hulk, mostly because I think paying 100 clams for a game with unpainted, unassembled models is just weak. Oh well, got Space Hulk anyways and I'll be ordering this as well. Also Chaos in The Old World too!

Tis true, quite common back in the day (late 80s) when the background was a bit more fluid. Anyone else remember the Ruglud'sArmoured Orcs boxset (there was a hole back story revolving around orcs that found the aftermath of a battle and donned Chaos armour to defeat stunties with xbows), I'm sure they were featured in the original version?

Hell, i still got my copy of the origional Chaos Marauders floating around somewhere, have to dig it out and check its all there (think a card or 2 may be missing)

I still have the original Ruglud Armoured Orcs Regiment, and I still think that the models look good enough - despite my painting standard at the time... The background on the regiment boxes added flavor, I'll give you that.

Dear God: Please let FFG purchase GW and revise that swollen giant's basic marketing strategy so that they release good products to a well-informed, happy public.

It is - I ran demos at Gencon for it, and everyone had a blast. It's a very simple game with lots of luck and even more screw your neighbor style play. Something fun to play after you've played the "real" games that night
For those who have played the original, it's the same game but with bigger cards, so each card can have their rules included (so you don't have to keep looking up all the special rules in the reference sheet during play anymore). They kept some of the old John Blanche art but the new art is very keeping with the old-school GW art of the late 80's.

The game was always loads of fun. Anyone who missed the original should seriously consider buying the new version. It's loads of light, entertaining fun for up to four people.

I have to say that's one of my fave things FFG does for their board games. By posting rules online before the game comes out, everyone can pre-read them (and print out multiple copies) so that once the game appears and your group assembles to play, everyone is indeed ready to play - no sitting around the table puzzling things out with one single copy of the rules. Plus of course you can really check out the game in advance to see if it's a type of game you like or not. Pre-reading the rules for Chaos in the Old World for example really cleared up a lot of questions I had about the game style.
