Well, the title pretty much says it all. What do you think of Gretchin? Do you like/dislike them because of their background? Do you take them because of the laugh factor? Have they ever done anything especially valiant in your battles? Or are they nothing more than a bullet screen?

Well, an Ork mate played againt me yesterday using his Gretchin as a shield. They shot at my termies+captain before they charged in to get slaughtered and suffice to say they dealt the only wound to my cap that evening. With shooting.

We both laughed.

Depressingly awesome. In a test game of mine, a mob of 19 gretchin polished off Prince Yriel on 2 wounds and a Howling Banshee Exarch. (the remains of a squad that had been mauled by lootas.)

Take about 4000 grots, the contents of GW's studio bitz box and the Mad Dok: what do you get? An Appoc army of invulnerable grots.

This thread has been ninja'd. We now discuss the praticality of cyborked grots.

I usually use a unit of ten, and go to ground on the home objective. A 3+ cover save, plus a relatively low chance of my enemy getting LOS in the first place (due to small models) makes this a passable tactic.
