Does anyone know how to make shotguns for IG? Would modifying boltguns work? Any advice in this area is appreciated.

I did mine using bitz for marine scout shotguns

I just cut of the barrel, power clip and stock on a lasgun to get a sort of combat shotgun look. I'll take a better shot in a second.

Thanks, that doesn't look bad. I'd only be worried I'd have to explain it's a shotgun not a carbine before every game. Maybe if I hacked off the top part as well to make it flat it would look more like a shotgun.

You could chop off that sight if you wanted, or you could model them as carbines that count as shotguns. There's no 'lascarbine' in the game but I could see such a gun filling a similar role and having the same stats.

Perhaps if you did the above, and GS'ed a strip of shells to the side, it would give a 12 gauge/pump action feel to them

My personal favorite shotgun conversions these days come from lifeofshan's IG blog here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/224537.page

He makes them by cutting the end off a lasgun, cutting the end off a Cadian flamer, and then turning the flamer bit around and mounting it on the front of the lasgun. Really great stuff. If you scroll through his blog you can see other pics of troops wielding them.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

I use these as "Count as" shotguns, if it helps.

Yea that flamer/shotgun conversion looks REALLY cool.
I used Catachans as a base for my necromunda gang (surprise!) And I just cut the barrels off the lasguns and then glue a small tube on the front. its WAY bigger then the original barrels and makes it look like a shot gun. Very easy
