I read at the coverage for UK GD the Nids will be receiving some new units. With the release near 3 months away, anyone have any idea what they will be getting?
The last codex I read had Old One Eye and the Red Terror, but I heard those were taken out of the 4th ed.

As for any mention of new species, there's been rumors about the Trygon but that's it really.
I wonder if every big faction will get something from FW in their new Codex? Like the IG, and now the Tyranids. The Wolves of course are Space Marines. The Marines of course got plastic Drop Pods.

I was just more concerned about the new items rumored. I didn't want to go through the 28 pages the other thread had. But thanks.

Doesn't help that Biovores are rubbish, if they could splurge forth D6 spore mines a turn instead of just 1, I might be interested.
Back on topic, separate Gaunt and Hormagaunt sprues would be most welcome.

Yeah I also think it'd be cool if they would plasticify a cool FW model for each new codex. But then, when they do Necrons I don't see them making a plastic pylon
I'd like to see a plastic trygon, hive tyrant and an updated warrior kit that will let you also make plastic raveners or lictors, either out of the box or at least as an optional add on sprue like the orc steamroller thingy, that's got snake tails and stuff

Most of these "new" units are really just a weapon switch though.

Though come to think of it, has anyone besides the Imperial Guard lost a ridiculous amount of units but had them brought back? I'm trying to think but I can't remember any.

Some of it? All biovore variations on those concepts were brilliant, I remember when we saw it first time and we were like drooling and especting great models sculpted... then we got the current vores .
Looking at spacehulk new stealers I wonder if these new mutations and BLord plastics will appear on new codex.

Hmmm last I checked it was called debating
Tyranids hmmmmm the last batch for 4th ed were a little ropey the models...questionable.The only kit I really liked and made me think "Yes this is a good reason for buying Nids" was the Genestealer sprue coupled with the small spore chimneys you got in the Battleforce and it was a conversion hit.
That and the Carnifex which was a model that made me weep tears of hobby joy so much choice so much.
The rest I just couldnt get on with clunky warriors an even more stupidly static bunch of gaunts if two units are in need of redesigning it is these.

I really don't buy this list. Mostly because thats alot of metal... but also because thats a large amount of question marks. A malanthrope is too big for metal... its exactly the sort of model GW is trying to avoid doing in metal... especially if you consider how top heavy it would be... balanced on its tail...
New things, logistics allowing, will get done earlier on. The Trygon, like the Valkyire for IG will likely be front an center as an uber shiny its too good not to use sort of model/unit/rules.
I think there is alot of talk about Warriors going on... I wouldn't be surprised to see a recut of those sprues, one that might make a plastic Ravenor a combination of one Warrior sprue and an unique tail end sprue. This is where GW would take advantage of the recut to add any new options either unit might get.
The broodlord, while its model isn't anything special its adequate. If its redone, I imagine its going to be a 2nd or 3rd wave kinda thing.
Gargoyles... I think GW is realizing that making any flying unit on a flying base plastic is a good thing, so that I see happening.
If Crudance does anything with Biovores to make them remotely interesting, more options, more powerful or both... I can't imagine this being redone in metal. For what its suppose to do this model is sooooo undersized... its large enough to contain how many spores mines? (I want to see this quy bigger with a couple of different spores to choose from)
