can they take duel close combat weapons????
its not shown in the space marine CODEX as a yes or no
so could someone just clearify it for me befor i go to a turney and look like an ass

No Codex Space Marine Dreadnoughts are equiped with 2 Dreadnought Close Combat Weapons. None of them have options for that to be equiped. The only ones who can are Blood Angel Dreadnoughts and Chaos Space Marine Dreadnoughts. The closest Codex Marines get is the Iron Clad, which has a Close Combat Weapon and Seismic Hammer.

Because GW likes to do things wierdly and the artist probably didnt know a BT dread couldnt be equipped that way. Although it does make sense, and it would be cool if BT could get that, I'm starting them up soon.

Our Black Templar Codex lists what our dreadnoughts can take. They don't have the 2 close combat weapon option.

sadly i have to agree...the BTs have been short handed..no pun intended...oh well the BTs need a new codex any how....but wishfull thinking gets us no where

BTs have been shorthanded?
I haven't read too much on the current Space Marine codex, but in all the previous codecies, I see the BTs as having everything the regular SMurfs have + fearless in CC, falling forward, (stupid broken) Blessed Hull, hitting on 3+, and other things...

well the BTs are a good army as are others but im not wanting to de rail the thread because theres alot of codexs that need an update....dark eldar being one of them although they need more of an model up date more than anything
but back on subject...it just makes sense that a dread could have 2 close combat weapons....but in all its just one little thing that was over looked by GW...so in all sadly although the art work shows a black templar dread with 2 close combat weapons its just a cruel trick brought to you by GW....oh well thanks guys

i love my chaos dread. it aint got 2 combat weapons, but can fire back with its auto cannon. its taken down many land speeders with that gun

I think chaos dreads are best with the dual CCW option. This way they only really malfunction 16% of the time. Plasma cannons are scarey on them because of what they can do to your own CSMs.

Ha ha yes cant remeber how many times i have given my dreads a chance with longer range weapons only to have them blow something up in my army. Dual CCWs on my dreads from now on period.

100% true. I try and keep my Dread near my Spawn, just incase it decides to go all twin-linked-lasscannon on me...
