Lately my hobby time has gone to painting these guys up. And these guys take lots of time but still some of the nicest minis in recent history.

First squad Gideon:

Sergeant Gideon

Brother Leon

Brother Deino

Brother Claudio

Brother Valencio

Stayed with the classical Blood Angel theme, with some own hints, mainly the darker armour.

Tomorrow is squad Lorenzo's photoshoot, so stay tuned. And let me know waht you think.

I like the paint job - your red is really nice, with smoothed color transitions. The Lightning Claws look great.

The rear vents seem to be unfinished - the rear views seem too plain?

Nice, the red is more grimdark

The eyes are Gorgeous, Northen. Your painting has really come up since I last saw your minis in person - and it was nice then.

I second scarab's statements, lovely job mate!

The one thing I always think when I see the space hulk terminator bases is that they should have panel lines scribed into them and some rivets. Do you plan to do anything more to them?

Cheers,

I like them - and I second your sentiment about them being a pain to paint.

Thanks for all great feedback fellas.

JHDD: Back of the models realy don't have that overwhelming amount of details (as the fronts have) so the might look bit blain in comparison. You could paint and some other parts vents with different color to spice things up, but wanted to keep mine red.

CMDante: Yeah, me too. I might go back on the bases, but I wanted to keep them straight put of the box much as possible (the painting is enjoyable, but takes ages)

But now squad Lorenzo

Sergeant Lorenzo

Brother Noctis

Brother Omnio

Brother Zael

Makes sense to wrap up the flamer guy in tissue paper

Brother Scipio

Brother Goriel

He's not 100% finished as I am not yet shure how to paint the stealers.

Allways happy to hear more comments

Finished removing flashes from genestealers today, should be start painting tomorrow. First patch propably ready in a week or two so stay tuned.

cheers

Exactly, that's why I did contrasting metallics on the vent and the outer ribbing, to create visual detail at the back of the models.

Yeah, they're 2E Termies, but the same issue with front / rear detail exists.

Really awesome Terminators. Can only hope my Space Hulk minis will look half as good when Im done painting them. If it's okay for me to ask, what was your process for colouring/blending the reds on the armour? Its really ace

Sicarious: Thanks, yeah the prices wen't trough the roof after the release.

Ronin: Shure, painting the red goes something like this:

Dark flesh
Scrab red
Scab red + Blood Red (2/1)
Scab red + Blood Red (1/2)
Baal red + Badab black + Water (2/1/1) wash
Devlan mud + Water (2/1) shading
Devlan mud shading
Badab black shading
Baal red + Devlan mud + Badab black + water (3/1/1/1) wash
Tharak green shading
Blood Red highlights
Baal red wash
Blood Red + Orange fire (3/1) edge highlights
Orange fire extreme edge highlights
Maybe some Baal red/Devlan mud glazes

I encourage to try it with own steps in there too. Later thinking I would propably used more Tharak green shades to bring litlle opposite color contrast to the shading.

First patch of stealers ready. Actually had these painted for a while but it took some time to take photos. For the marines I went for pretty classic style, but for the stealers I tried something a bit different.

Always nice hear comments.

I like the pastel look to them - looks like they're blending in with their steel confines. Nicely done!!

Those Terms are great, they look a right fit for a dark dirty space corridor.

The minis probably look great together (reds vs... gray blues).

If you can, get a group shot!

When I saw the stealers, I thought that they were unpainted plastic with painted bases... then I saw the details, and remembered that the genestealer plastics are purple! *laughs at self*

Also, I love the terminators!

Wow, you make me want to give up on painting alltogether.

This level of grandure is beyond me. Stunning work.

Nice down to earth tones, and the use of brown in shading is excellent idea. These look really nice and fit to the dark corridors of abandoned hulk really well.

It's all so cool. Termies are great, especially Omnio. I've always loved that model and the paint job more than does them all justice. I really wish I'd bought a space hulk while I had the chance. Great Work again.

Thanks for all the nice comments people.

Malfred: yeah I get the group shot once done, maybe some action shots too

Metsuri: Glad you like the shading, I was a bit worried about it before, but when I painted it I fell for it instantly.

ghosty: You get few genestealers as single but most of them come in pairs. And everything is straight out of the box, expect the battle damage conversion of missing hand on one of the stealers

Got the second patch of genestealers ready yesterday, will take photos soonish.
