While I am loath to start a question thread rather than a proper rumour thread, I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about the Legion of the Damned models we saw a while back, or that Heavy Flamer Sternguard model?

Any idea on when/if we'll ever see those?

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

HAIL

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

I had to make my own HF marine... wasnt too hard though, cadian command spure, and the flamer tank fits rather nicely on the back of the marines backpack.

I've heard nothing new out of the rumor mill concerning either. I can't imagine anything of the sort being tied with the BA book so, unless they suddenly show up on store shelves in a random splash release, you may be out of luck (or left to resort to that double backpack conversion).

All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy.

(THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK)

It's unfortunate that they can't bring themselves to release a "flame shoulderpad &heavy flamer" upgrade sprue. The flame bits would make a great addition to a lot of armies.

As it is though, I have always viewed LoD as more of a "Make your own fluff" unit. The built in fluff is a little silly for me, and the idea of a unit of marines in alternative styles of armor (space combat? Underwater gear?) is fun to me. It's a great opportunity for conversion and fluff writing.

Do you remember that time that thing happened?

Is there a link to the HF Sternguard? I'd love to see the pic.

I'm building 2 of them based of the ones in WD # 356. In that army he used the HF arm from the Terminator box.

Coincidentally enough, just received an email from GW announcing the unveiling of the Legion of the Damned at GD Italy, and their subsequent imminent arrival...

Today at Games Day Italy we unveiled the all-new metal Legion of The Damned models.

The Legion of The Damned are Spaces Marines in appearance. Their black armour is adorned with chilling images of bone and fire, and an eerie glow suffuses their sable armour and a halo of ghostly fire dances about their feet. Considered by some to be an extension of the Emperor’s superhuman will and by others as the vengeful and immortal spirits of fallen Space Marines, Damned Legionnaires fight with a chill precision few mortal warriors can match.

Out in January, the Legion of The Damned are an Elite Space Marine unit who can always Deep Strike and can even opt to re-roll the deep strike scatter dice. Also, their 3+ saving throw is invulnerable.

So Space Machine second wave is in Jan, hmm interesting.

*sigh* when are they ever going to be bothered with beasts of chaos :(

February/March time I'd reckon. They are given a vague, poorly veiled mention in the current White Dwarf.

They'd still need new Buggies/Trakks and a Deff Kopta kit that is available outside of the starter kit. Otherwise, Orks would be covered (I believe).

H.B.M.C, any chance you could start a thread asking when the new daemon prince is coming out too? Also for Dark eldar, necrons, chaos legions etc? GW seem to get their ass into gear when you're moody.

you know. it sucks. they're metal. if they were plastic people would be like awesome legion of the damned here i come! i would still use them even if not as lotd marines but regular marines.

they should have come out with something like this:

"Hey guys guess what, we present CODEX: LEGION OF THE DAMNED! with NEW LEGION OF THE DAMNED PLASTIC MODELS and SUPER AWESOME SPECIAL CHARACTERS OF DOOM!"

my new sig will now be:

LEGION OF THE DAMNED: THE GOOD VERSION OF DAEMONS OF CHAOS. shame gw never released them.

I think I saw a Sternguard Heavy Flamer in an issue of White Dwarf although it was a conversion by one of the staff: This may be what you're referring to.

Came out over a year ago. Personally, I think it's Legion of the Damned, given the fiery shoulderpad.
