This could be interesting, but unless you manage sell them for more than you spent on them, there's no way you're going to make even a little cash.
my advice; don't rush them too much, spend a while making them look good, eg. paint the insignia freehand instead of using slide on transfers.

Sounds like this will be fun to watch... I like your Blood Ravens thus far so hoping for the same results on these guys eh? A bit off topic, but what Air Brush do you use? I have a fairly crap one (maybe thats me not taking good care of it... idk) but Id like to get a new one since mines crap and would speed up my upcomming SM army quite a bit!

ok.... I just looked at your blood ravens and I must say, I'm impressed. you should have no problem selling these Ultramarines for a good price to someone who wishes they could paint as good as you.

thanks for the vote of high confidence and the airbrush I am using is a Badger 200 its a pretty nice and I got it for around $80ish. When I say rush I mainly mean don't dilly dally. All I hope from this is that after cost of the figs, which this time around the SM's and the Rhino came from a battle box that I got for a discount of 20% or something so and the dread was from a large set of older SM's I got a long time ago so it didn't cost me much. So my cost isnt too high so as long as it makes me a bit above minimum wage I am good, which is basically $8 around here. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yea and I guess if anyone wants to see my blood ravens for a reference of skill or something there here you go,

I will post pics when I am done with that stage.

Gah - Smurfs! Don't let those Blood Ravens go without a bit of TLC, though. Still, mind you, have fun with these guys... I'm sure that you'll get a nice and tidy profit from 'em.

good luck and i hope you get the price that you want. as someone who is selling painted figs (with quality around 6/10 objectively), the market is crap. even if they're not painted any wierd way (you're choosing ultras so they're normal, not like the emperor's great space bunny chapter), people actually want to detract value for painted stuff. my stuff (same quality but different army) about 1.5 years ago got full retail within 24 hours on ebay for buy it now yet now sits there 40% off. hopefully your experience will be different.

OK... so that is been a bad few days for hobbying(I think thats a word). So Thursday nothing really got done because of chores. This last weekend I was out of town. Yesterday and Today school work kicked my arse. So not a whole lot has gotten done... tomorrow I have to finish cleaning the apartment and do some Laundry and dishes then I should be able to start back on working on these guys. I really hope to have the 10 tac and the rhino done but Saturday, we will see if that gets done. I have the first highlight on some of the guys I should at least get the rest done tomorrow and I will try and post pics of that.

*OMG MEGA UPDATE*
Sigh ok well here is how things started. After my last post things started to go down hill as far as free time goes. First it was problems with car and me running back and forth to my moms place which is two and a half hours away. After that I was like ok time to work on stuff, well then it turned into tests and papers... and after that when I thought I was in the clear finely Dragon Age: Origens came out of nowhere and well.. I have been waiting for that game since I heard about it like 2 years ago because I am a HUGE bualders gate and icewind dale fan and this game is everything I was hoping for. So needless to say many nights with no sleep went by and and I have finely managed to talk myself into painting again. So about 2 days ago I started painting these suckers again and here is the progress. I should have done one post for the first highlight but didnt really have the time so here is the first highlight on these guys and I will make another post after this one for the last highlight.
Here is the whole crowed:
Commander and special/HVY weapons:
Tank top:
Dread, and if you look in the back you can see a project that will come prolly the start of next year.
ok that was part one of the update. Automatically Appended Next Post: *Update 2*
So I decided since its been so long I will post what I have of highlight 2. So this will look a little overpowering right now but when I am doing painting everything I will be going back over the highlights and smoothing the lines out so they will look a little better. This is where I am right now after this post and a little bit of food I am going to get back to them and hopefully get most of the rest of them to this point and tomorrow I should be done with that and moving onto another part of them which should be the lenses first then black and all the small things like purity seals. well here you go.
The one marine I got too much paint on is mouth part but all lines will be fixed in the very last step:
Side view:
Tank other side:
Dready:
Dready side:
ok well as always comments, complements, criticism, adoption invites?

well the plan is $200+ I know it sounds like allot but last time I tried this I didn't take very good pictures nor did I make a good Ebay page for them and I made about $150 last time so assuming I come across more professional and have better pics and this lot is actually painted better I would assume I should get more then last time and I did see someone sell this same type of lot 2 times before for $220 and $280 and they were not nearly as well painted as these guys. Then again he could have been price hiking them I don't know. The plan for the money is to buy a group of the same thing and buy me some more Eldar so I have my 2500 for the Ard boys. Oh and thanks for the positive comments

Great painting, think these would go down a storm on ebay. Are you going to do an auction format or buy it now?
The listing you linked is pretty basic html plus an ebay shop frame, for the actual listing itself there are lots of ready made templates out there that you can edit very easily with programmes such as MS FrontPage - (this is what I us, never used any other). Try this site, there's a few different styles of templates and they are easily changed to suit your own styles ...
http://www.jennyhow.com/20-free-ebay-auctions-templates/
This site is great for generating hex colour codes...
http://www.2createawebsite.com/build/hex-colors.html
Tip, if you want to make the photos professional and (almost) thief proof, create a simple logo / tag and add it as a watermark on your pictures (I use photoshop for this).
Hope this helps, good luck and let us know how you do...

That's a very nice squad you have there. If I weren't a painter myself, they'd be on my radar as a potential purchase.
I really like the use of litanies, and the extreme edge highlighting. It really gives the Marines a sense of solid contrast.
Some of the freehand symbols could use a little touching up here and there, but very solid work overall.
Interested to see how much you fetch for these guys.
