But the thing is I have 3 concepts and need to choose just one, so can you folks help me out here choosing the one you think its the best for genestealers heads?

Wow, those are actually all nice, tough call.

I would have to go with the first one though. The bottom one looks nice, but doesn´t really say ´Nid to me. And the middle one is really good as well, but it reminds me so much of a monster from UFO:Terror From The Deep, that I can´t see it as a Genestealer head..

So Octopoid for me please.

Pincer head: it will make them look a lot spikier and more intimidating. Those concepts are amazing, looking forward to the results

All look really great, but I vote for the pincer head, it looks original while the others look more like remakes of the current heads.

I like the eyeless one. It looks like a stealthy genestealer.

Wow, can't you make all of them?!

Its a tough call, but I'm going to have to say pincer as well- mainly because the other two look like rehashes of the feeder tendrils currently in production.

A suggestion: can I have some horizontal bitey pincers on the pincer head as well please? I think it would look awesome!

Can't wait to see the finished product.

For a feeder tendril head, I like Octopoid best. Overall I like Pincer best, but it doesn't really say 'feeder tendrils' to me - if that's what it was meant to represent!

You're very brave, designing heads two months before the new codex nerfs all our existing army builds! Or do you know sonething we dont...?

Pincer head, because it's new, and the feeder tendrils are too close to the Octopus concept.

Y'know, you could just as easily make it a "generic alien head" and put your castings into production...

I voted octopoid but I also really like the pincer head.
The reason i wouldn't choose the eyeless one is because I imagine genestealers as really fast creatures that observe their surroundings so I don't really think having no eyes fits if you kow what I mean. However I don't have much to do with tyranids so I may be wrong backgroundwise.

It has to be an Ork thing, because thats exactly what I was thinking. Pincers look cool, but wouldnt that be pretty tough to cast with those being so small and thin?

I say pincer!

Navarro and I were brainstorming new genestealer heads. I thought he would be good at this (I was right!) and the main thing we are going for is alternate heads, but also we wanted to be able to supply "feeder" tendril heads for all those people who want them but dont want to pay 3-4$ for a bit.

I cant wait to see what he cooks up.

1: is the second easiest to cast and also looks like feeder tendrils but different.

2: is the closest to GW genesteeler tendril head, also easiest to cast.

3: Looks farthest from any genomorphs and is also the hardest to cast. If made in resin they will be expesive and if made in pewter there will be severe detail loss.
And we aim for pewter.

Thus I would go for 1:.

Thank you all dakkaites that voted on this pool, it really helped me up making my mind.
I runned this same pool in 12 forums for a week to have a wider prespective and the results are very clear and I will share them here:

Pincer head got 195 votes
Octopoid head got 99 votes
Eyeless head got 62 votes

A total of 356 votes.

So I will sculpt some pincer head variants and maybe I could also mix the octopoid encefalo on the pincer mouth... I will keep everyone posted on progress in a new modelling thread I will open just for this work.

Again thanks and wish me luck.

I honestly would wait until the new codex comes out and identify which head biomorph is going to be in the highest demand. For example, if you had come out with the eyeless or octo heads when 5th Ed BRB came out you would have made a killing. Heck you probably still could as these are still high demand items that seam to always sell out on the warstore. Again, it isn't so much the looks that should drive your desicion but the demand for biomorphs due to GW WYSIWYG emphasis. In otherwords, people might want the pincer head because it looks good, but nid players need the eyeless/octo head due to Codex rules making feeder tendrils nearly manditory on Genestealers.

I say the first one, it looks very lovecraftian.

Have you thought about doing a "predator" style head with the mouth open. That might look really cool.

The scythe one is cool, but I think that alot of detail will be lost on the small scale and it will be hard to paint/tell what is going on.

There all really good. But the Pincer head just looks so sinister & spiky which is why I think you should chose it.
