Hey Migs, yeah this is everyone except the Tau influenced Roggue Trader. He´s got some nice models as well, amongst them some FW tau, and an ANCIENT imperial assain type guy, gooood stuff.

Still working on several things here, but not picture-worthy just yet.

Xanthos, when will you tell us what the next step in the story is? Don't we have about two players in each country at the moment? Let's keep going!

Scene: Skirmish between Clan Scryer and Clan moulder. Scryer player revs up the rattling gun:
*roll* 4, *roll* 1, *roll* 6... pause, consider. Moulder player taunts, *roll* 4! Damn! *roll scatter dice*, *aim directly at scryer warlock engineer,* *hit warlock engineer 15 times.* *Surrender* Ooooh, the beauty of Skaven engineering. =)

That´s a good thought, I´ve actually been speaking with some of our other players, and they have said the same thing.
So expect fluff mails including the next scenario as soon as I get the time to finish it.
I need to change it slightly, since you will be without arbitrators.
As far as my modeling goes, everything is on hold at the moment, due to school+work. :S

Right, Wasn´t going to post this yet, but since it may be a week at least until any more happens to it, here´s where the repressor stands now. I´ve done some GS work on the hull extension, and I´ve added firing slits, a bit different in design than the FW ones, so what do you think?

I´m thinking that this way, they remain closed until they´re needed, and then you slide them open, fire and close again. There is a lot of GS work to do yet, of course.

Great work Xanthos.

I really like the firing-slits that you have made. It's really beginning to look like a tank/transport worthy of the mighty Inquisition.

What kind of colours have you thought about, for this wonderful piece of Tech?

Keep 'em coming!!

Thanks a lot, we tries, we tries.

I just wanted to do something a bit more WW1-esque, a bit more gothic than the FW original.

I´ve been thinking greys, keeping it in a color scheme that is similar to my land speeder transport. That way they´ll work together, or alone.

So light grey base, dark grey detail work, and probably a lot of funny little detail work.

Hey all, it´s update time in =I=Munda land once more!

I´ve been extremely busy through January, but due to a weeks holiday I now present the finished Inquisitor Sigismund, with servoskull companion and everything!

I ended up doing some weird white lightning effects on his sword. I´m not entirely happy with how it looks in these pics, but it´s time to move on to new things.

Amongst these new things are a few additions to the Navy Armsmen. A breaching crew, consisting of three guys so far, to support my first void born character in ship-to-ship combat.
The first of these guys is finished as far as modeling goes, will start on the paint tonight. He´s the breacher, so he´s wielding a chainfist, with a built in handflamer unit. His job is to create openings for the team, and flushthem with flames before they enter.

He´s not carrying any other weapons just now, since he is more of a worker than a soldier. His colors will be classic construction yellows and greys.

Ah well, enough of me waxing lyrical, here are the piccies!
[Thumb - Inq Finished.jpg]
The Inquisitor, in all his splendor.

[Thumb - Inq Finished 2.jpg]
Another shot of Sigismund, with pet servo skull.

[Thumb - Breacher Helmet.jpg]
The breacher´s helmet, of the neoclassical "Krootesque shoulderpad visor" type.

[Thumb - Breacher Chainfist.jpg]
The chainfist, I used a space marine narthecium, sligthly modded.

[Thumb - Breacher Chainfist 2.jpg]
The chainfist again. I felt that an actual marine chainfist would have been waaay overkill.

[Thumb - Breacher Rear.jpg]
The breacher, rear shot. His powerpack unit with all the cabling.

[Thumb - Breacher Base.jpg]
And the base. He is currently entering through a wall he obviously didn´t like.

[Thumb - Breacher Base Rear.jpg]
Another shot of him on the base. I´ll get proper pics once he gets some paint on.

I like the breach guy, his body armor is the regular IG armor but that piece below the breast, what is that, did you build that or rip it off a kit or something?

It makes the armor look more like storm trooper armor..

That´s actually grey stuff, put it on there to break away from the look of the original armor.

I got some paint on him yesterday, will put pictures up later.

next up are the two guys that are next through the breach, a heavy flamer guy and a guy with a shotgun.

Okay then, I got some painting done yesterday and today. Here is the breacher guy as he stands now. I´ve gone with an industrial theme for him, so lots of yellow and such. He still needs weathering, paint chips, scorch marks and markings on the armored bits, but main painting is pretty much done.

I also took the chance to try a method I´ve never used before, and went for a reflection on his visor, in graded blues and browns. I feel that it came out okay, but it´s something I still need to work on.

Pictures for the masses!
[Thumb - Front.jpg]
Front view. He looks quite menacing, and the fist looks large enough I think.

[Thumb - Left Side.jpg]
His left side is heavily armored.

[Thumb - Right Side.jpg]
While the right side is mostly unarmored, since it will be facing away from whatever he´s cutting.

Lovely work - the new guy reminds me of a G.I.JOE character in a nice way. I like the visor effect too, but maybe the reflection should look more urban??

Hey, thanks migs, he does seem a bit "G.I. Joe!", now that you mention it. He will be properly dunked in the full horror of weathering and chipping, to bring him into the 40k universe though.

As for the visor, I realised even as I was doing it, that the motif was somewhat idyllic. I may go back and change it for something darker and possibly add more reds to the air part, but it was great fun to do.

For the record, it´s a gradual lightening of vallejo black brown, to skull white for the ground, and vallejo ultramarine to skull white for the sky part.
About seven steps for each part, on a bit that´s basically as large as a shoulder pad. Good fun!

Edit: Thanks for the compliment Aunshova. The helmet really is the biggest experimental bit with this guy. That and some pretty fiddly GS work.

That looks ace! Have you thought about using a gloss varnish on the visor? It might just give it a bit more kick to it!

Hey all, thanks for the positive comments! Seems that people mostly like the visor, and are iffy on the yellow. Well I´ve been working on the yellow today, and it´s gotten alot better I feel.

I can tell you that the visor was an absolute blast to paint, and I definately want to do more stuff like that. The progressive lightening is way easier than it looks, and the vallejo colors lend them selves well to the technique since they seem to be slower drying than GW.

I´ve also been hard at work putting final touches on the next two guys for the gang, and I feel that I´m close to finished with their modeling work.

No pictures tonight, the bleeping cable has gone awol and I´m too tired to search for it right now.. Hopefully it shall reappear in the light of day.

Yellow is a tricky one to go with. I think the shade in the picture you have posted doesn't fit with the rest of your group or their tone and style. It is very reminiscent of a GI Joe character.

In order to get it to work with the tones and shades of the rest of the group I think you either need to lighten it to an almost white yellow, or darken it down (possibly mixing in some charadon granite and a little light grey). Either of those should produce a more "gritty" and realistic tone.

Gotta agree with all the others, the visor looks wicked.

Why is he squating on a broken wall?

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Dante

Hey everyone, thanks for all the kind words about the visor. Good to see that hard work pays off. The yellow is indeed tricky. This guy will be the only one in the group with the yellow, but I´ve been working on getting him grittier and more 40K´ish. Still needs something, but I think he´s getting there...

If he ends up being too far from the style of the group he may end up being a civilian contractor for fluffyness. We´ll see.

@CMDante: He´s not actually astride it, he´s stepping through it, after cutting a hole in it.

In other news, the next two guys are now almost done as far as modeling is concerned, the shotgun guy just needs some shells on the side of the gun, and the flamer operator needs to get his helmet and airsupply attached.

And also, I have located the cable for my camera, yay! So piccies are here!
[Thumb - Breacher Front.jpg]
The breacher, now with dark washes and chips.

[Thumb - Breacher Rear.jpg]
Rear shot, now also with grittyness.

[Thumb - Breacher Side.jpg]
And a side shot, showing some lettering and stuff on his chest armor.

[Thumb - Flamer Front.jpg]
Flamer operator, not sure if it really says "heavy flamer" yet, but i think the double hose improves it at least.

[Thumb - Flamer Rear.jpg]
Rear shot of the flamer guy. He has an extra tank as well.

[Thumb - Flamer Side.jpg]
And a side shot.

[Thumb - Shotgun Front.jpg]
Shotgun guy, regular goon basically, but he also has the visored helmet.

[Thumb - Shotgun Side.jpg]
Side shot of him, with the added strap. Shells will go onto the side of the shotgun.
