Thank you guys!

My job and familial duties left me no time to work on my models, however I should be able to work on the Emp kids soon.

Looking at GWs blog, I've seen pics of a wonderful army with nicely converted heads:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=15900043a
Do you think I should give those a try for a squad?

I'll bring it back from the deep warp section where my wife banned it months ago (a.k.a the basement). I've found something just fine to finish the "island".

I really hope to be able to post something new soon (and more generally, just to work on my various projects)

A la prochaine!

I'm only looking at the photos at work so excuse if you've mentioned it already but where did you get the head for your DP?

These heads are from the Abberation Prime kit (from Rackham). You can find it quite easily on ebay.

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've been able to post something new, but today I've finally managed to get some time to work on my Emperor's Children.

I have maily worked on the Sonic dread which is now fully done:

As you'll notice I've heavily washed the skin of the base, and added the DE chains. The icon colour scheme is inspired by Yggdrasil's one (except for the gold)
I'll post it in the PM Showcase too.

I've preparde some press-molds to convert the noise marines bodies, and gave a try at a tentacled helmet (thanks to Wehrkind's suggestion )
This is a first guick test (done in less than 5 min)

What do you think?

Ha, at first when I saw your Icon, I thought "hey, do I still have mine in the workshop? Or did he sneak into my house to steal it?". Awesome rendering!

The Dread in itself is great as well, definitely is a Slaanesh cultist! The white laces on the armour plates keep on amazing me...

Tentacled head looks better on the profile view, so it must be good. Looks creepy enough to me!

Very Lovecraftian horror on that tentacled head... I like and Slaanesh approves.

I believe you exceeded the limit of badassery allowed on daemon princes......

Thank you all for your comments !

I'm glad you like the tentacles, I'll try to make a 6 men squad with those.

@Tyranic Marta:Thank you, I try to post new stuff as often as possible, but I didn't had much time for me lately.

@Yggdrasil: Thank you! I really liked your icon but a little voice in my head told me that sneaking to yourp lace and stealing it wouldn't be a good idea knowing your job .

@Antebellum: thanks man!

@ JoeyHeadWounds: ïa ïa Cthulhu Ftaghn!

@ Angerfist: Is there a limit to badassery? Sorry I didn't know that! thanks!

I'll try to finish the Daemon princes soon. The Snake Prince has received some milliput to fill the gap in its back and to strenghten the model's structure.

About the cult dreadnoughts , I'm glad to tell you I've received the bits I missed to start the last dread: a Thousand Sons Sorcerer dread (say it three times). I'll make it as a TS version of the BE Furioso librarian, I hope you'll like it!

A la prochaine!

Joe

I think you guys should have a look at Just Dave's CSM fandex. Not perfect of course, but a lot of great ideas, and an impressive amount of work & passion into that 'dex.

Hyena : erh... Well, I guess that's a good reason

I'd be glad to play with a proper cult codex, so if you guys make something, I'd be really glad to read it, and why not throw some ideas in

Here are some new pics of the stuff I've worked on yesterday and tonight: the Daemon princes and the early steps of the TS sorcerer dread.

First, the winged prince assembled:

I'll add the mandibles later. I still have to work on its ass (no bad jokes meant here ) and on the base.

I have no good pics of the snake prince but they will follow soon (I've filled the gap between the tail and the torso)

Finally here are some early pics of the lascannon arm for my next dread:

I hope Tipios will like this .

So, What do you think?

The real CSM codex as far as I'm concerned.

Also, excellent tentacled face there. But goddamn, 'dat prince!

Tipios might be dissapointed that you didn't completely drill out the gargoyle heads and use brass rod! LOL Looks great! I am going to steal the idea of pinning the heads on the weapons, because frankly, drilling them out is wreaking "havoc" on my fingers! Sorry couldn't resist the pun!

Thank you guys!

@Wehrkind: Thanks for giving me the idea of the tentacled face man! I'm really glad you like the DP too.

@RSJake: Tipios is a hard worker, I'm too lazy to do half of the drilling and rod cutting job he does (not to mention his other modelling skills!). Are you working on a plastic dread too?

@Medabee: thanks man,I hope you'll like the next step.

I will now focus on the TS sorcerer dread. I have a dread force weapon from the furioso kit, and I'm planing to replace the blade part (not chaotic enough to me) by the extremity of one of the DP swords (I just don't know which one yet).
The armor plates on this dread are going to be a mix of arrows (as I did on the sonic dread) icons (classic icons the legs just like I did on all my other dreads, and the pink horrors icon on the top) and press molded eyes reproducing this:

(sorry I have no better pic for now)
I'll also use some good old plastic card of course.

The torso will be done following the same pattern as my other dreads, but this time I'll be using the terminator lord sorceror breastplate instead of a regular chaos termie bit. I'll probably use the tzeentch chosen head from the CSM squad kit, but I might be interested in using the Scibor "not thousand sons" bits:

Has anyone already used those?

what do you think?

Hyenajoe, I'm not doing Dreds yet, I am currently converting Vanilla SM Heavy Weapons to Chaos, so adding the screaming heads and chains and spikes and such. Yes, Tipios is a magician with converting! His conversions make me tired just looking at them!

Hi there!

As I've managed to get some time for modelling, here are some WIP pics of my noise marines.
First of all I'd like to mention that the idea of using the sonic blaster cannon face on the noise marines was shamelessly stolen on the army shown on GW's website a few weeks ago.

It needs some more GS to make a smooth junction, but what do you think so far?

Thanks guys, but to be fair, I didn't sculpt those, its just press molded and glued on the legs. I've made milliput molds last week using the sonic blaster shoulder pad and the canon's mouth. This way I was able to convert about ten noise marines today.
