Bring the GK / too many SM whining to another thread please.

As awesome as it would be to wait 8 years and get the same exact codex... I, for one, would like to see some new units.

On a separate note, I've never really like the repressor, either. 'Look, I'm a high capacity rhino... yay.'

This is wise advice.

I'm not sure that I like the idea of Sisters in Valkyries. I like the rolling forward preceded by a wall of flame image too much. Of course, there's room for more than one build in a codex.

Every time I put forth that idea, people yell at me saying "No! They need to be fast!".

What about scorching the earth as your tracked vehicles and foot soldiers move forward, burning everything in their path and chanting admonitions at the foe doesn't scream "Sisters of Battle"?

But think about Valkyries with Laud Hailers swooping over the battlefield and firing rockets as sisters disembark to heavenly music.

Ooh, what about a new Valk variant for Sisters?

Maybe give it hellhound style flamers?

Could be fun - and silly appropriate. Turn up the Wagner when you put the model on the table.

On a more serious/fluffy note - replacing the standard weapon loadout with napalm warheads would make sense.

I'm with you there, Kan. Sisters could be a great counter-mobile force, along with crons.

One shot only = lame.

We need non lame. Like MRP with flames! In fact, that's a great idea, MRP with Ignores Cover. Yay, I just made a new variant.

Not at all what I'm going for. That would be great for Air Cav Guard, but Sisters with Valks should be playing Eccelsiarchal Hymns. Spooky church music does a better job of 'scaring the heck out of the mooks'.

Sacred music is not really up-tempo enough for air raiding. Hence the "marching somberly across the scorched remains of hertics" image.

That's the spooky part of it. No one expects somber hymnals to be bellowing out of speakers on the sides of assault aircraft. Puts them off their game.

To which all I have to say is, "Thbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbt!"

Ring of Nibelung > Francis Ford Coppola

On a more serious note, I can't really see any issues with them from a fluff standpoint. The Ecclesiarchy may give the impression of a force advancing stalwartly into the face of the enemy, but the simple fact of the matter is that the Sisters are an elite force and elite forces often need special methods of rapidly getting to where they're needed. Drop pods aren't usable, so that leaves teleporters and high speed air transport.

And I don't know about you, but teleporters strike me as highly unlikely.

What? Feth that. I want more tanks-- tanks unique to Sisters.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

We all think that, but we kind of need proof one way or the other.

Negatory. If I said what I knew, it would lead to better fakes, and I don't want that.
It's just like network engineering. I never say how I know stuff, because then the next time the guy hacking knows to cover that.

So you are claiming to know what's really going on with Sisters but telling us preemptively that you refuse to talk about it so that others won't use your accurate knowledge to create better fakes?

Makes sense to me. But then again, I moderate a website about toy soldiers.

Or he might know how the images were faked.
I'm reasonably sure that someone with the drawing tablets that are used by many of the 'quality' webcomic's artists could do something like that using their equipment.

Makes sense to me. But then again, I moderate a website about toy soldiers.

I'm willing to give a modicum of belief to his statement, if he works at a publisher that does a lot of work with PDF formatting.

Yes, but that could just be you pretending.
Not to say I don't agree: the thing looks like it was typed up on Microsoft Word and thought out very poorly. Whether it was made by someone in GW or not, it is not in the format we can expect the codex to be in when it does come out.

No, I'm saying I know a fake when I see one. And if I did know something about the sister's codex I wouldn't say anything about a fake at all...because in that case I want more fakes out.

The easiest and most obvious one is that martyr is spelled wrong. It doesn't stand up to scrutiny for many reasons, but come on...spelling something wrong that a spellchecker would catch is just sad.

An example of a citation in this cases, Scuddman, would be your background in PDF faking so that we could accept your 'expert' opinion.
