Happy Saturday, comrades. I have been painting away at my jank fleet of Imperial reinforcements. I will be completely open with you here- all the WIP cruisers I previously showed you? Yeah I dropped the box they were in and they disintegrated. I've rebuilt them and it's kinda in keeping with my theme- rebuilt wrecks!

I hated the mid stage of painting these ships! I think it's the curse of anyone who enjoys this type of hobby- half way through I'll just look at what I'm doing and think 'I suck'. I've seen it referred to as Heavy Metal Syndrome, a reference to Ye Olde White Dwarf painting studio elite and their terrifying skills However, I'm able to understand that this feeling goes away for me once the final puff of varnish goes down. I'm happy enough with the finished results here.

Oh, and as usual my photography skills need some Hand Wavium applied- I think they look nicer in person

Battlefleet Rhiparion

Rhiparion Sector is in disarray. Fleet Command is silent - the shipyards there are inaccessible. Warp storms rage throughout the sector and it is possible 50% of populated worlds may have been destroyed. To the shaken survivors there is another key concern- in the days leading up to this disaster a stream of reports had come in of Tyranid vessels sighted in the Eastern reaches. A large force of Rhiparion warships had been deployed to counter them only for their astropathic comms to fall silent.

This is where we are now. Acting Fleet Admiral Cresserian has issued an immediate summons by fast packet for warships of any type to be reactivated and crewed at the following orbital facilities: Flexberg. Gethrika. Proxima Salvator. Fleet reserve stations have been instructed to reactivate their most capable ships for immediate deployment.

Lovely looking ships Ragsta, I’m envious! BFG is one game that got away from me, I wish I had the pennies to get it when it came out but was not to be, here’s hoping they revive it!,

Thank you, Max! So glad you like! I think it's the OSL that really pulled these hulls together. Just a base of blue on the light emitting bits, then drybrush of lighter blue followed by a light brush of white.

Thanks man! I'm really pleased that I've been able to use up all the Zeus bits in various bashy ways!

Kid_Kyoto wrote:Love the ships, who makes them?

Thanks, Kid! That is an interesting question. The light cruisers all have prows from Battlefleet Galaxy, 80% of the hulls come from Vanguard Miniatures with the rest coming from a mystical site from far away lands I kitbashed all of them using various bits box stuff and plasticard.

I love your bloody stuff! But I'm glad it's not just me!

Josh, thank you for dropping in! I'm glad you like my stuff. BFG is one of my favourites.

Thanks Jordy! BFG is alive and well, I assure you- check out this Reddit for a wealth of online stuff the likes of Horizon have archived and added to: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefleetgothic/comments/10lqd0k/how_to_start_with_battlefleet_gothic/

If I was going to start again I would likely look up Scourge Scenics as we're both in the UK - they've got starter fleets for £75 that get you a BS, 5 cruiser hulls and 6 escorts.

I suspect they will revive it eventually, only for the scale to be revised, all the ships to be space marines and the original rules to have had the fun sucked right out of them. But I digress LOL

Oooooh, those ships turned out absolutely stunning mate! The paintjob really lets your amazing conversions and kitbashes shine, the parts work soooo well together and it is clear you know what you're doing when it comes to ship design. The OSL looks great, too.
Also, I love the little lore snippet you added, it is so cool to read some creative in universe fluff text, and i think you nailed the 40k vibe. Mad props, and sorry for being a bit late to the party on commenting!
