Somewhere it was clarified that the box makes something like four standing gangers, two bikes with 1-2 riders, and the boss-biker which is a set model (w/girl carrying rocket-launcher), on a third bike... but supposedly this biker leader would be sold separately outside of the Warlord mega-bundle.
Even so... if the box is msrp $40, for two bikes + four solo models... it isn't a bad deal, especially with an online store discount added into it.
It's an even better deal if it means you get spare rider parts.. I always end up needing to find riding legs and handlebar hands for different projects.

Throughout the 2015 convention season, WGF kits direct from WGF were buy 4 get 1 free, or $10/box on last day of the con. They gave away free zombie vixen sprues at Historicon 2014 to everyone, and free sprues every year at the Muster.
Now everyone's chomping at the bit to pay WGF MSRP after several years of being able to purchase them for anywhere from 20-50% off depending on whichever online retailer had them.
I guess you really do appreciate the things you don't have anymore.
I tended to snap them up whenever the FLGS had them in stock. Just never got the WW2 Russians. I was looking forward to the modern soldiers and bikers, but at these prices I might just do without. I would say I appreciated them just fine before I lost them, before they were taken away. I probably would have bought a second box of the survivors for conversions but I was waiting on other kits for parts and didn't want to buy things I wouldn't use for a year or more. Never expected them to jump price so much or disappear completely. Automatically Appended Next Post: MLaw wrote:

Bob - lol.. well.. I hadn't considered that but now that you mention it.. I can't seem to think of anything else.
Chaosorc had some of the other WGF kits. If you're looking for those give them a shot.
WGF was always a panic button for me. If I needed something but couldn't find it anywhere hit the panic button and hope some of the kits worked out. When they started they were neat. The old idea submission system and all of that.. it was just very cool. What I do regret missing is being able to buy the cannons and horses for ridiculously cheap.

A couple of years ago I was able to pick up both survivor sets and the zombie vixens, all brand new in box, for about $12 each at a con. That was a good deal then, but now it really rocks. My uncle was confused as to why I bought them...I said one day they would surely come in handy, lol. I did also buy the Mein Zombie rules to try out, but have never gotten around to doing so. :-(
As for the Project Z game, I trust that Warlord will provide an enjoyable game. I would preorder the box set itself right now if I could (obviously don't need the big set they are offering at the moment). I'll likely get the box set and the biker gang when available.

So, i've got to say, I have been making male/female survivors all day out of the WGF sprues, and have been having a blast. That is a really cool set, and if its the back-bone of this line/game, it is a hell of a start.
That said, a couple practical problems. The minute you drop to a single-sprue for the price, the modularity of the kit gaks the bed. You really want to have access to different sets of arms, as some bodies absolutely must have access to long-sleeves, while others take any arms nicely. I've had to accept that I will probably be making say, 22-24 out of a box of 30, mostly because I have appropriated some of the only good sets of arms for the "wrong" model, leaving some leftover that are viable models, but might just look foolish as hell. I guess I could paint up suit guys with torn off sleeves though...
Also, packing one of the accessory sprues to one body sprue is going to be incredibly wasteful for non-kitbashers. Across 20+ guys I have barely used half of one accessory sprue, and that was with going out of my way to make genuinely unique models.

Looks like NWS Online Gaming Store recently posted the Complete Zombie Deal pre-order for $113.00 in their Warlord Games section:

Wasn't going to go all in since I have several WGF boxes already, but at that price it's very tempting...

I got my Female Survivors in today. I already had the males, so I was just fixing that gap.
I really have to agree with a few of the people posting. As great of a price as it is to get 30 for like $15ish bucks or whatever you could find it for.. There's no way I can see myself using all of these for survivors. I have some ideas for other purposes and you can make some unarmed to use as hostages or civilians in other games.. but 30 survivors.. or 60 with the men.. geez. Throw in a few vehicles and that's almost an IG army.
As to the accessories and extra bits. If you're looking at more realistic scale, you can use a lot of the female arms on the male bodies. The other way around could work too but not really 100% across the board.
All in all.. if you don't have the WGF boxes, I don't really feel like they're doing a huge injustice by dropping it down to 10x per box. While it does raise the per model price, the 30x really was a bit overkill.
I have not bought any WGF zombies and have heard they're not that great.. so maybe on those I'll look elsewhere or wait for the revamp.
I like the sculpts on the survivors and I have faith that the military/militia and bikers will be similar quality sculpts.

Speak for yourself. I easily came up with conversions enough to take up all 30, if not 60. 1/3 for the same price is a pure bull.

Honestly, while I probably won't build all 60 of my survivors, I do really appreciate not having to be careful with using bits I like most. I just plain enjoy some of the heads/bodies/arms more than others, but at the insane price for a box of 30, I don't care if I only use half, but really love what I am building...
I think the sets of 10 do injustice to the modularity on display. With essentially no conversion skills you can still whip up some really unique models with so many extras.

I was thinking about using the extra body parts and whatnot for basing, bits to glue onto other figures (eg. zombie holding arm to eat), terrain (zombie arms coming out of the ground), etc.
As for there being only "two" zombie miniatures games out there, I did a quick search and found several homebrew ones. The two I'm familiar with are All Things Zombie and Fear and Faith, but the Chicago Skirmish Wargames group have been using Nuclear Renaissance and Blasters & Bulkheads. They're obviously having fun with these games, so I'm not seeing a lack of zombie miniature games out there, or at least ones that accommodate them. OTOH, If you have played several zombie miniature game systems, I definitely would like to know what you think of them! ATZ's reaction system looks like a good ruleset for untrained and undisclipined figures?

I was looking at the kits more closely last night.
There's a lot of obvious celebrity bits and many that are close enough.
You can do most of TWD characters. Sam and Dean and others from Supernatural, Trinity and Neo and the Agents from The Matrix, Ash Ketchum.. kinda.. The guys from The Big Lebowski, Shaun of the Dead, RED, Die Hard, Resident Evil.. hm.. off the top of my head that's what I came up with. Oh.. maybe Blade.. have to look again.
What kind of "celebrities" have you guys mashed up from the kits if any?

Gameplay looks a lot like it will just be lining up everyone in the middle and rolling dice at each other until someone gets lucky with an overwhelming hit.
Army building is, if I understand it right, mostly just a sliding scale of fighter quality vs quantity, with all weapons assumed to be equally good.

actually I agree. Warlord's Wednesday hobby newsletters are an awesome mid-week early-morning read and their Friday releases newsletters almost always make me want to order something.
