I got one of the boxed sets when they relaunched and didn't have any real problems - the plastics were great without issue and the resins I got were a little warped but nothing that I would consider "abnormal" (esp as it was Shaltari parts for the battle cruiser so very long and thin in resin). I've not actually got round to the BC assembly yet but it should even out very easily with simple heat treatment and bending.

Plastics side I'd have no worry at all, resin can be hit/miss from some sources but I've not heard of "huge problems" then again after hteir KS gave them a stall they are rebooting (at least they are rebooting in a much stronger position than Spartan games as the Hawk Wargames was more a merger than a closedown - heck the original company head is still involved just moved to game and model development instead of finance/management)

Damn, I was really hoping we'd get a kickoff to dark eldar rumors at the con, but it looks like we've already moved on to the next three dexes.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Well I recently received my first TT Combat made dropfleet stuff and I was not happy if i'm honest, the old stuff was cast by the #1 resin production company in the UK and was priced accordingly. The New stuff is cast in house and is as rough as a badgers back side despite costing the same.

The resin is the hard dark gray type I have seen used by the Chinese recasters, nothing fits to gather flush or even matches up at all in some cases. Not sure if this is an issue with the molds, material or casting but I ordered some of the exclusives they put up at launch so fingers crossed the retail stuff might be the normal type and quality expected will wait for reviews before any more purchases of dropfleet or drop commander.

I think part.of the issue is they seem to have recast some plastic components in resin without factoring in shrinkage but who knows.

That is disheartening to hear. I always heard good things about DZC casting in the past and in my own limited experience with them.

Outside of GW's Fish Elves, Adepticon seems to not have had a lot else happen - unless I'm missing something? Is everyone saving everything for Gencon?

Is there a good website out there with a round-up of all the Adepticon news?

I was hoping for some Dystopian Wars new or renders of new ships. But sadly there seems to be nothing on that front.

Do we know when the 40k FAQ will be released? They said after Adepticon. Does that mean tonight or tomorrow, you think?

It could be any point from tomorrow onwards - almost certainly *not* going to be tonight, given I doubt anyone will be in the GW HQ office to post it.

Wasn't something mentioned about GW gathering questions from AdeptiCon to factor into this FAQ drop, or am I imagining hearing that?

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Dystopian Wars is a long way off yet. I'd probably not expect to see big news on that until mid-year at the best.
When Spartan Games died off they didn't sell the company or merge, instead it went straight into administration so when WC took over they've had to basically rebuild everything infrastructure wise from scratch. This is without them then adjusting the armies to fit into the new merged world setting of WWE and Dystopian.

I wonder why they haven't been able to get the models back in production at least. There are some really stellar models in there and it would give the game a pulse while they work to relaunch it.
