Certainly you understand that this is because Orks don't sell, people are just not interested in them. It makes sense for GW to dedicate their resources to popular lines such as Sisters of Battle, rather than wasting their time on niche stuff like Orks.
Need some sources - also, GW is finally doing plastic Sisters because A) They're bringing out every minor faction they can right now, to increase sales of books and models [thanks soup!]; and B) GW needs more boobs in 40k - more of a female presence, in todays day and age [again, another source of income].
It has nothing to do with them being popular - if it was, the Sisters army would have released ages ago.
Also, I'm an Ork player - I WANT to buy new models, but considering that Orks are currently terrible, and all their units are garbage (minus one specific build that spams one specific unit) - statistically, they're worse than every other factions entries, and way overpriced. I'll wait until I see the codex release before I jump back onboard whole hog - based on GW's current offerings of rulesets (8th core) and clear Imperial bias in codecii (strength and number), I'm really not sold that they'll do the Orks justice, which means I'm just wasting money. Hell, they don't even have 4000 points of Orks painted, one of the oldest and most iconic armies.
Orks are popular - you just don't see them much because their rule sets have sucked (3rd was their best edition, and that's ages ago).
And honestly? I'm TIRED of EVERY release being Imperial models. Every. Single. One. Remember when they announced that Xenos would finally get three codecii in a row (after a year of different colored Space Marines and imperial modes), that in that SAME announcement, they had to ALSO show off the "new knights" imperials would be getting? Couldn't have saved that for a seperate announcement, even ONE day later?
Fething let Xenos have ONE announcement where there's NO imperial presence. Just one, it's all I ask. One.

Yea this is it for me. I'm sick of Imperial stuff. I'm sick of Chaos stuff. As much as I'd love new Ork stuff at this point I'd take anything that didn't have an aquilla or 8 pointed star somewhere on the model. Inb4 Sisters players claim Fleur de lis.

What i find funny is that people still think that if gw dosnt release x y or z that they will lose players and they will fail.
If you have collected all the mintures for your army then good for you. If you want more stuff start a new army
Getting an army range extended or updated dosnt excatly forfill a huge amount of time unless its a army size update
Take ownership its not gw fault that your not forfilled enough with there model line its yours

It absolutely happens.
There's a few Ork players selling their army on facebook groups as I write this.
They don't seem to be interested in playing 40k for the foreseeable. I'm not saying it's common but it definitely happens.

Here's a thought: if you ask me, Squats are awkward as a faction, in both the fluff and crunch sense. I say, if they want to add Space Dwarfs to 40k, the thing to do would be to flesh out the Demiurg. It's a Xenos race, so the anti-Imperial-release folks are happy: it's an opportunity to try for a more distinct visual style than the generic Imperial auxiliaries that old squats look like, something like they did with Kharadron Overlords: and if they felt skittish about making them a complete standalone faction, they could team them up with T'au like they do in Battlefleet Gothic.
Demiurg are a for sure way for me to get pissed again @ GW. Lemme ask you, did you ever play squats? if so you would hate the fact that they redid them as something else when new models that are analogous look sooo good.
The fact that Kharadron look soooooooooo effin close to squats it actually makes me mad, he'll even the 40th anniversary Grombrindal looked exactly like a squat in exo-armour. I've almost broken down and bought some but the fact they don't have 40k rules has stopped me. the new squat bounty hunter for necromunda is exactly what i would want in a "new" model. even the stats reflect what they would play like, slow but tough.

It is, in fact, only GW's fault that they haven't even got plastic kits for all of the entries in the Codex.
Let me run that by you again.
I can't actually buy kits in plastic for all of the units.
They need to fill the holes in their line before starting new ranges. They have had, in fact, ELEVENTY BILLION FETHING YEARS to do this.

This.
I play Tyranids, Necrons, Eldar, and started Custodes mid last year. So i played only Xenos for the last 17+ years. But i don't get why people are so impatient nowadays. It used to take years before we would get new stuff for our army. Except for SM. If i remember correctly Tyranids got three major releases in the last 10 years. And Necrons got maybe two. and that’s the case for most factions. But since GW has started putting out new stuff twice a month people get upset when their faction(s) gets nothing in a year. I think most people forget or where not in the hobby when Dark Eldar waited 10 years for a new codex. Or factions didn't get a new codex in the whole edition. And now not even a year after the start of 8. edition we have Codex announced for all Factions but Orks, GSC and SW. Even SOB had theirs announced. So we're missing 2 Imperial Codices and 2 Xenos. We saw 5 codex releases in the first 3 month of 2018. I think overall GW did pretty good. I am actually amazed they can keep this paste.

The machines for plastic models are way more expansive than the ones for metal. so it may not be profitable to make every model in plastic.

GW seems to be drowning everyone else out.
Speaking of other companies, Red Republic Games is apparently showing the Greeks for Arena Rex. If anyone can get pictures of them, it'd be greatly appreciated.

If GW doesn't release X, Y or Z in a timely fashion, they absolutely will lose players. They probably won't fail, though. I'm a predominantly Xenos player. I've been waiting patiently for a Codex and new units for quite some time. The T'au book dropped with no new units. The Necrons book is dropping with no new units (a plastic version of an existing unit isn't a new unit). I'm tired of waiting. Star Wars Legion dropped yesterday. I spent last night shelving my 40k stuff and building Stormtroopers. I'll still pay attention to 40k happenings and might get back into it at some point in the future, but I currently have no plans to spend any time (outside of surfing forums and news sites at work) or money on 40k.

Tau got a large update last time. The only models that really need doing are the Vespid and flavours of Kroot. They've also done really well out of previous release windows.
Necrons? Well, I'd like to see Flayed Ones in plastic - but that's about it. The range itself isn't terribly old, and whilst Finecast is a PITA, other than the Flayed Ones its just the characters.

So far the release "model" for 8th edition codexes has been either to release almost nothing, or effectively a whole new range.
Marines got most of a new range of models with the Primaris stuff. Same for Death Guard. Custodes expanded from just one set to a full range. Pretty much everyone else just got new rules for their old models - occasionally with a new character or something.

Why do they need to turn things that already exist into plastic? They would then be competing against themselves.
Take Aspect warriors for example.
I have the latest metal sculpts already bought and painted. New plastic ones are released and they basically look the same with a few more poses and options.
Pretending I'm a lot more rational than I actually am, there's a good chance I don't need to buy them because I've already got them and I'm happy with what I have. A % of your potential customers are lost.
If they release a new unit for Ynnari, I definitely don't have them. None of your potential customers are lost.

Realistically, what Tau "needed" was a non-Commander profile and a Grey Knights-ing of the bigger suits like the Ghostkeel and Broadsides to open up some more thematic options.
Also plastic Sniper Drones.

Forgot about the sniper drones!
It's similar to people wanting new Death stuff for AoS.
What's easy to lose sight of is just how recent much of the Undead line is. End Times brought the three Mortarchs, Nagash, plastic Ghosts and the Morghasts. Before that, new skellingtons, Ghouls, the Big Ghouls, Zombie Dragon, Cavalry, Grave Guard, Corpse Cart, Dire Wolves and the Mortis Engine/Coven Throne,. That was a major release right there. The only models that genuinely need an update are the Black Coach (may have been clocked in the Adepticon trailers), Fellbats, Bat Swarms and Zombies (don't think I'm missing any others?)

There's no source, that's the point. It's a useless, annoying, cyclical argument that dakkanauts in general (and English Gentleman in particular) have brought up every time someone says they want plastic battle sisters (or decent rules for battle sisters, or an explanation on how their special rules are supposed to work in a new edition, or for them to acknowledge that they even exist in the setting!)
If it stings too much, take heart in the fact that you won't be putting up with it for 20 years, or that you'll definitely be getting your codex (with or without a fix to the underlying problem) well before the sisters do.

My point is that everybody who is blaming gw for there lack of releases is missing the point. Gw is a thriving company that has a big product range and is still producing more.
Gw has nothing to do with what you like or what you want so stop blaming them when you dont like somthing,
Why do you have more right to xenos models then imperial models
Key point nobody does
So shouldnt we just be disscussing what we like and dont like ,and not what we think we "should " have

Dropfleet make some very impressive ships and their hard plastic resin whateveri s rather nice to work with.
the only downside is the detail is SO fine that you've got to be really careful with cleaning (though the mould lines are very slight where they are present)
