By going to to Kinkos or some store like that and have it plastic spiral bound, cost like five dollars its worth. If you need Reference points and keeping it on one page.

I think Luna puts pages into sleeves that go in a notebook. Will confirm.

I photo copy them and put them into plastic sleeves into a binder.

I also use color copier to copy the codex cover + army summary
and laminate them into a cool board.

I don't think of my rulebooks as particularly demonic enough to require binding.

I use them until they fall apart and then put the bits into sleeved folders.

* makes it easier to feed it into the scanner for scanning, printing and binding.

I have all the new books and codices bound up with a spiral binding and laminated covers. Makes the store copies last quite a bit longer. They take a ton of abuse. I usually need to redo popular ones like space marines about once a year.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

A buddy of mine did this with his falling apart 4th ed Nids codex. I'm thinking of doing the same with my Space Marines codex, as it's falling apart too.

Yeah, Im definitely getting my WoC bound and I know a friend of mine is getting on of his bound too... I literally had the book for 2 days and all of a sudden as I lift it up 7 pages fell out... and they were important pages too >.<

This has been happening to alot of people lately cause apparently GW decided to switch to a cheaper (cost and quality it would seem) company to produce the rulebooks... but didnt they also raise the price from 20 to 25? Dont want to start this into a giant bash on GW thing though, although it does strike me at a confusing point

My SM dex started losing pages a week after I got it. I took it back and the GW store manager told me about binding problems of the first printing, and gave me a new one no questions. I was very pleased - great service.

Then after a couple weeks I noticed the same problem, some pages were starting to come loose from the binding.

I took it down to office depot, and asked them to photocopy if for me. $5 later and I have it in a duotang. I brought the copy and the original to the store to show that I owned a copy of it, but told them that was the last time it would be leaving the bookshelf until I needed another copy to use.

My old Eldar codex disintegrated when I left it in the back window of my car one day.

I took a 3 hole punch and spent 15 minutes punching about 4 pages at a time to punch all the pages and then put the whole thing into a 3 ring binder. I use the pockets inside meant for homework to keep my army lists and FAQ's in.

Would never do it with a nice, mint codex but it cost me $2 for the 3 ring binder; the hole punch was my dads.

I've never had a rulebook fall apart. I suppose it's because I only need to read it once.

Could someone describe how you got it bound? You just take it to Fedex Office / Office Depot and ask them to do it for you? Or you buy the binding and do it yourself somehow?

Thanks

Nope, once I legally own the rulebook, I print off the 'dubious' downloaded pdf and put it in plastic sleeves in a folder. Using the folder for day to day and the purchased book as my right to print it.

Haven't ANY of you heard of breaking in a book?

I do this to all my Codexes (all my books, really) and haven't had any problems with them coming apart, even the newer Codexes.

People just don't know how to take care of nice things anymore.

Trust me, leave a codex or rulebook in the back car window on a 90 degree days and the glue holding it together dissolves.

So, just like cd's don't leave your books in the back window.

When I can be bothered I'm going to take my 'xerox' of the ork codex, print out all the rules and reference bits and make a mini-dex so I don't have to lug the big a4 dex to the LGS every week.

Makes sense, as it's a GW I'm not sure how they will take it though...

My problem is with army books being left in my car. the glue gets soft and they unbind rather quickly.

When that happens I carefully cut out each page, put them in a page protector(plastic sleeves) and put them in a regular old binder.

I did this recently with the Generals Compendium, Annual 2002 and Chronicles 2003.

I'm in need of doing my BRB this way soon.

PDF's from the interwebs are also you friends, and I only print anything that I already own. That being said I have a pdf of every fantasy book from 6th ed on.

The only rulebook I had trouble with was my first printing 40k rulebook for 3rd edition. A little rubber cement, and practically good as new.

If I was going to bind my own, I'd rather work from PDFs.

As a result of this thread, I went to the GW bunker near here, and asked where they got their rulebooks bound. They said any FedEx/Staples... so I went to my nearby Staples, waited 30 minutes, and voila! Bound mini-rulebook and codex for about $8 each (I had the front and back laminated, too) . Mine are done with a circular binding / hole punch, rather than rectangular like the ones in the store... and the binding is tighter on the page. I can even fold it back and only see one page. Cool

I also printed out a pdf of the quick reference sheet (from GW's site... it's the second link that comes up from searching "warhammer quick reference sheet" in google) and had it laminated.

I feel like I know more rules already!
