Getting ready to order a Reaver, so I asked Forge World what their plans are for the future:
Elusive71 wrote:...I recall reading somewhere that Forge World was planning to release optional heads as well. Is this the case? While the Imperial Reaver bears an updated version of the old Reaver "skull" head, it appears that the Chaos Reaver sports a "Chaosified" version of the old "Space Marine" head. Will we see an Imperial version of this?
Finally, any development news on a Warlord and/or Phantom Titan or any other upcoming releases you'd care to share?...
Their reply:
Hi,
Thanks for your e-mail. You are correct; we certainly would like to release variants carapace and head detail for the Reaver Titan at some stage in the future, although these projects are not currently being worked on.
We certainly intend to release Warlord-scale Titans such as Phantoms for the Eldar, but again the scale of the kit means that it is likely to take some time for such a project to be completed - as an example, the Mars Warhound Titan took 16 months to be fully complete.
Essentially, rest assured that we do want to release Warlord size Titans, it's just a matter of time.

They answered within 24 hours actually.
It wasn't actually news considering that they've been talking about how much they want to do a Warlord for awhile now. It was nice to personally hear it from them though. I forgot to ask about the Reaver chainfist. That's the CCW I'm interested in. Seems a lot more practical option for destroying other titans and buildings than a giant hand IMHO.
I think it's safe to assume that we'll be seeing the Dark Eldar before a Warlord or Phantom, since the DE stuff is well under way.

Fixed.
DE stuff is apparently all done. GW just isn't releasing it because they aren't sure it'll sell.

I'm positive they've got enough done for a first round of releases. Put out the infantry and HQ choices. Maybe a transport to top it off. See how the new models sell. I'm not sure why that's so hard for them to think of. Even putting out the codex, which Goodwin has said IS finished, would help them forecast sales better than doing the whole lot of nothing that they're doing now.

Maybe with the ingenious design of ramps in the FRONT for a vessel that carries assault troops (I hope the eldar who designed the wave serpent were swallowed by slaanesh for such horrible design

So you are finally getting one ? Funny because I have finally started work on mine after buying it when it was released. My personal aim is to get it done for the German Golden Demons later this year and I was wondering whether I should hope for different carapace weapon setups. Seeing Forgeworld`s answer this seems pretty pointless, so thanks! for posting this !

I guess you could buy the appropriate Warhound options and convert them to mount on the Reaver carapace (which I may yet do). Sadly, they're right/left hardpoint specific, so it would require some sculpting to get them to look right and mount properly (no problem for you I'm sure ). But yes, I'm finally buying one after setting aside funds a little at a time and watching the exchange rate.

Seems you have some kind of third eye. Between writing my post and reading yours I ordered an additional Turbo Laser for the Carapace.
So far the model is much easier to assemble than the Warhound...

I was thinking the same thing...
Is it the Inquisition markings? As, possibly, they wouldn't have a standing army with a Titan in it but would requisition one?
Still, if that's it, someone needs to relax! It could have been painted up special, for that campaign, etc.

Thanks for the flowers, guys !
And yeah, it was the usual shtick that the =I= would never get to requisition a Titan due to their long standing feud with the AdMech.
I don`t really care as there could be a million explanations for something out of the ordinary. After all the whole 40K background is full of contradictions already.
But the boys at Bolter and Chainsword got really worked up about the this one. We`ll see what they say about the Reaver....

@Moloch what it comes down to inthe end is people can gripe all they want, but it's your hard earned cash that buys the supplies and the models and inmy opinon you can paint them and build them however you damn well plese. If they don't like how it's done then tell them to buy it for you. I am a fluff nut but I won't gripe to much on somone else because well they paid for it.

For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |
