With an Apoc game coming up and everyone wanting finished painted models, I've been one busy little bee going on about finishing the finer details of some models to be ready in time for the game. While nothing too fancy and really just table top quality painting I thought I would share the last two days efforts ((when ditching work ))

Finished up three heavy weapons teams on Monday (( 2 x autocannon, 1 x lascannon)) Did something I never really done before for lascannon teams and that was paint the wires on the power cable from the las battery.

Yesterday after finishing one Heavy Bolter team, I decided to "rebuild" the second which was going to be done up that they were "on the move." The idea had been done before and I've liked how people have done it, but didn't have any green stuff to finish it. So I started over by recovering the base to have a complete model ready for the up coming game by making sand bags. ((The trip pod was hacked up to be "folded" into a carrier, which has been set aside for when I revisit that idea))

Then today I finished the painting/basing and paint on the heavy Bolter and the two gunmen.

Once that was out of the way I turned my attention to one of my Chimera's detailing its weathering and "battle scars".

I love your tanks, I feel as if the infatry could use some drybrushing though. Otherwise this stuff is aces.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

Then I guess its a good thing I don't like kittens, filthy creatures.

To be honest I don't spend much time on infantry; in fact one of the reasons I play guard is because the infantry die so fast there really isn't much reason to put much detail to them . Could spend HOURS detailing models to last two turns on the table and die... or just make it decent and watch them disappear faster while anti-mold line people focus their attacks on it while my tanks survive and keep shooting .

Started on the second Chimera today also doing some more weathering to one of my Russes. Hoping to have time to at least base coat and start on third chimera before the day is over.

I have to say I likw the way the Camo matches the bases! It looks like a camouflage scheme for where they are.....

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Well I finished up the second Chimera; hoping to get some done to at least one of my Russ's tonight. Do have to paint a few more soldiers to make the new list work for tomorrow. Always love those last min changes .

Btw; forgot to say thanks to all the people posting their comments. Always fun to get the responses ((even if it involves more kittens getting punched ))

The buzzing continues...

Some minor details left for the executioner; mostly small weapons fire damage and one window I've noticed that I missed.

I liek your paint style alot. very cloean and crisp edges with the faded desert camo look. Perhaps the base on the sentinel is a bit bland (more sandbags maybe?) and the armour chipping is ace.

They are all looking really good. I think my only comment would be to add much more weathering and scuffing to the dozer blades. You're going to get much more wear than that on them as you drive through walls and push rubble out of the way

The armour chipping would greatly benefit from the black being more irregular- at the moment it rounds the silver chips too neatly IMO. However your bullet hole damage is perfect- try using that technique on the chips and it would vastly improve them IMO.

Still, fabulous models, looking forward to more updates!

Drivers are getting a sort of Star Wars Rebel pilot orange jump suit with white trim going on. But I'm on last few drops of Gryphon Sephia, not enough to finish the sentinel for it to match the others, so instead I painted a few more cadians to match the new scheme from the old one.

Work continues:

I started looking around on google for "War Symbols" and found the Chinese writing for "war" had three characters; and though that the scouting part of sentinels is three units strong that it would be fitting to paint it on the front.

I know its difficult to see in this image; because I did it in blood red for two reasons: 1. I didn't want it to stand out too much and detract from the "dirtiness" of the vehicles. 2. Wanted it to look as though it was recently painted with the blood of their enemies in a way. I may at a later date use a black micro pen to high light the strokes but then it becomes something more of a decal they put on rather than something they did as a unit in field. I will also take closer detail images once the third one is finished being painted so that you can see the symbols a little clearer.

I also started the paint on one of the armored units; all that is left now is the paint chips and basing.

CadianXV; long waiting answer to your question was: lazyness. I had intended to go all out on interior detial, then the game that I had to be done for came up and I had no time/patience at the time to complete the cockpit properly so I blacked out the windows so that I'd meet the table paint game rules. It actually didn't look too bad so I've stuck with it. My second Vendetta that is sitting in a box because it is going to get decked out with working back lit control panels, interior and running lights will of course not get the blacked out windows. I'm told going to the extent to light a gaming model is pushing it, but heck even as a display peice I'd still use it in a game if I need more than the one Vendetta . Hiding the flasher chip is going to be the hardest part really.

So; with another tournament/game pushing on yet more models to be completed I suppose its only fair to show you guys the results. Unfortunately the picture that shows the brunt of what has been accomplished did not turn out so I'll have to retake them. But in the last two weeks I have painted

4x Chimera's
1x Leman Russ
1x FW Vanq turret with commisar model as ((Commander Pask.))
1x Armored Sentinel w/ Plasma
and caught up on 25x infantry to be finised painted to new scheme.

Today I started on my Sgt. Harker model as well.

PICS!
