Hello all, I have just signed up to the site and thought I would share some of my work with you all.
My chapter is self made. Sons of Alba, Alba being the gaelic word for Scotland and the chapter's fork symbol and "Over Fork Over" motto being my clan's insignia, not Jessica Alba
Although she could be their matriarch if marines were ever to have one... who knows.

Anyway, on to the models!!!

First up is my Chaplain in terminator armour:

Thanks very much fellas! I have a few squads and a captain finished, but the light has been too low lately for me to get a nice enough picture. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon as I don't want to use a flash.

To echo empchild, I like the green on him as well. It's not too bright, and seems to fit the model well.

I like the scheme alot, and also the name it just echos the space marines of ancient scotland, are you gonna give any of the marines with out helmets "woad" face paint because that would be awesome.

also for those of you who dont know "alba" is the ancient name for scotland.

I'm trying to steer away from using any tartan if possible, but I might put the chapter master in mine
I figured the differentiation between tartans was a French invention and I also didn't want each unit to be too different (which is what would happen if I used actual clan tartans).
I guess I could have made them just from my clan, but then that would limit the recruits somewhat fluffwise.
So only the chapter master may bear his tartan at any point and the others must unite under that banner until the next is appointed (or something like that).

These are excellent! I really like the dark scheme on the chaplain, but I'm betting the colors on the dreadnought will make more sense once you show us some pics of your rank and file guys

Thanks for the kind comments guys! The main colours of my force are red and cream like the dreadnought (which I've taken to calling my deadnought as it has died in every game so far lol). I will try upload some more pics tomorrow or something.

Mastiff, your marines are purrrdy mate, very nice job.

Good-looking stuff there The One You Know, and welcome to Dakka! I'm fairly new to posting myself and I can definitely say that you'll get all kinds of responses for stuff you put out there. I like the concept you have going with the army, Mastiff's army is really cool and it'll be interesting to see how this one evolves down its own line.

I have a feeling a fresco would work well painted on some nonessential vehicle to distract your opponent...that, or paint it on something important so your opponent would be sad to see it go!

sigh, will just have to settle with a good looking marine army... so betrayed... lol
