Holy fething gak yes. I know those are concept renders, but I ever want to play that game. Plus, bolter with a bayonet / combat attachment. I smell special finishing moves.
I hope it's not centered around PVP.. like how it says zones are clamable and invadable..? i play MMOs for PVE stuff, if I want pvp I'll play FPS games.

This has Relic developing it, it's going to have online multiplayer, trust me.
For the love of all that is good and decent let us select SM chapters (easy pallet swap) and xeno races (harder to fit though) in multiplayer. Could you guys imagine clanning up by chapter or race. It's a dream but Eldar maybe even from your craftworld of choice going up against Imperial Fists, go to the game lobby and your next match is against Thousand Sons players, oh imagine it

I believe this is for the new squad based game. I don't think this is from the MMO.
No madam, 40,000 is the year that this game is set in. Not how much it costs. Though you may have a point. - GW Fulchester The Gatling Guns have flamethrowers on them because this is 40k - DOW III
Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1 - BBAP

Probably more of a 3rd person shooter like Gears of War, with some added RPG elements and bigger emphasis on close combat.
Yeah, so, just like God of War.
Especially if the bolter stays like the early vid they showed and continues to do absolutely nothing beyond stunning cultists.

Which is most definitely not going to happen, since that was confirmed to be another project which got ditched. On top of that, there are two ranged combat specialists you can play as. I really wish people would do their homework on this and stop thinking it's the same game as that old piece of crap. This is also developed by Relic, which the other game was not.
Am I alone in being completely uninspired by this?
Yes, its 40k and they've tried hard with the visuals and I'm sure there's some background-technical stuff which is impressive.
In gameplay terms, however, its just yet another completely unbelievable and unrealistic shoot-em-up (or in this case, beat-em-up as no matter how many bolt rounds hit a traitor guardsman, they don't die apparently!)
What would have been cool (and as far as I can tell unique in computer gaming) is a proper simulation. Short, well written missions with a strong narrative linking them. A proper campaign structure which revolves only partly around your actions (you're only one marine, after all, but do something impressive and it makes a big difference).
Most importantly each mission should give you limited supplies and a definate goal, not just running around for hours emptying thousands of ineffective bolt rounds into the air (where exactly are you carrying the ammo?) and ripping dozens of traitor marines apart with your chainsword - 'cos we all know how well that works!

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

Well, it is a squad based coop game with 4 marines and with lots of shooting. To me that sounds more like Gears than God of War. In both cases, all there is, is war.

That second video is from a scrapped game project, the one Brother SRM mentioned. It has been scavenged by Relic for the name and art and such. The gameplay footage there has absolutely nothing to do with the upcoming game.
Can't quite remember the Developer name, and a quick google didn't turn up any results, but I believe it was something like Sunfish or Angryfish? Their project, which you see in the aforementioned video, was scrapped entirely by THQ and handed to Relic, who developed a new game from scratch under the same name.
There was a video floating around of Relic's version that showed a developer going through the equipment screen and some gameplay footage, can't find it at the moment though, I'll try again when I'm done at work.
Something about those pics in the OP seems odd. I don't want to say the graphics are great, good yes but certainly not great, but everything looks too... oiled? Yeah I'll go with oiled. Power armor I can understand (to a certain extent) but look at those greenskins.
Hmm just watched the video and the parts that seem to use the game engine look very nice considering how much is on the field.
