Subject: Zip Kicker - Chances of Cancer/defects high?

hi I just started using Zip kicker to make mymodels glue much faster and easier and stronger. Tonight I read the warning label and it said the state of California recognises(or some other similar word) a chemical in Zip Kicker to cause Cancer and birth defects. Does anyone who uses Zip Kicker know what the chances of this are? I don't want to be sick over a few models I want drying faster....

The manual for my MP3 player told me that the data transfer cable it came with caused cancer, and that I should wash my hands after using it. Naturally I proceeded to ignore it at once. Seriously, as long as you don't eat the stuff, nothing is going to happen.

Use it sensibly and you're safe, they don't sell serious stuff without restrictions (eg spray paint, cigarettes, etc). Don't bathe in it, swallow it or inhale it.
The risk of birth defects requires a touch more care. Generally that just means it passes through the placental wall but that itself isn't a good thing for a foetus. If you're pregnant or trying to have kids probably best to look for something else, just to be on the highly paranoid safe side.

I expect that if you don't inhale the vapors continuously for the next 20 years you should be safe.

I think if you can still find pump or dab on zip-kicker, go for it. However, I would avoid the aerosol like the plague. It just goes everywhere. So unless you want to spend the time getting on all the required equipment to handle it safely (completely defeating the purpose: speed), I would avoid it.

The state of California is convinced that EVERYTHING causes cancer! Ignore the warning.

A buddy of mine just had a baby (well, his wife did ), and when they took her home and gave her her first bath, they found a warning label on the bottom of her left foot:
"WARNING: The state of California has determined that Life can cause cancer and even death. Life is not recommended for anyone."
|
There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

Genius... just genius On topic - most products with such warnings are safe enough if used correctly, otherwise they require that the retailers are licensed to stock the product and, in some cases, the product can only be sold to certified professionals (as in the case of certain poisons). I'd just relax and follow the instructions for handling, ventilation, etc.

Realistically, pretty much everything can give you cancer anymore. Thats the way of things. Just dont huff it, and set it on fire all the time and youll be fine.
