How did you do?

Did you have fun?

Did the whole thing turn into a massive argument about KP for drop pods (yes, I know they were fixed)?

I won with nids in Fairborn ohio.
Kevin Kirby took second with green skins.
I feel bad (forget the name of the third place fellow.) But he played Eldar.(great guy i just suck with names.

First round was orcs for me. This pretty much ended up being me being lucky and forcing him into a bottle neck. But this was a well played game and was lots of fun.

Second round was against Term marines. Bad reserve rolls for him and amazing Tervagon rolls for me were the swing in this game.

Third round was against mounted orcs. this went in my favor only because of the mission. He kills ones of my units and i get a 2 point swing when I kill one of his. If this was victory points straight up I lose. Because its funky fast unit scoring I win.

I had lots and lots of fun.

I think that at this point level Tervagons are a bit to strong when you can run them apart from each other and have more than one go off. These dudes were my life raft.

hope everyone had a great time.

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

Sweet i won worst dice rolling EVER seen! I got dead last and yeah i know 1k sons arent the greatest but you know what i had tons of fun losing....why you ask because i couldnt help but laugh at my ridiculous rolling. First game i did alright and would have done better had i not bottle necked my opponents so much which in turn forced me away from objectives. The other two were just me watching my army get shredded because most of my rolls werent over a two. Bad thing is i didnt have any other dice and just laughed the other two rounds away.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

It was quite fun to watch the guys go at it. Watched the new Blood Angels get steamrolled by mechanized guard. phew. Watching one of the Dark Angels greenwing get run over by BA, not so fun. One of the necron players had a chance of getting up there but got massacred on the last round.

Top 5
1) Tyranids
2) Imperial Guard
3) Blood Angels
4) Daemons
5) Tyranids

Very good games. I love our store as all the players are lighthearted and everyone has jokes to be made about how their troops are "Sleepy after noms" when nids get poor consolidation rolls and such.

I personally didn't enter as I haven't played a game in so long due to uni classes and wasn't comfortable enough with the rules. The next one though I'll be in. Hopefully as either Ravenwing or Deathwing, though not sure if I'll be able to give up my dev buddies.

I won, with a pretty balanced IG list.
Straken, 2 platoons, a few Chimera transports, a couple of Vet squads, a couple assorted LR tanks, some sentinels, an Ogryn squad with a Comm lord.

First game was against a Vulkan list, with 3 Land Raiders
Game two against BA with 4 Land Raiders and 3 Baal Preds.
Game three vs. a Vanilla Marine list with 2 Land Raiders.

Yes, I faced 9 Land Raiders today, and I am tired.

Ended up being me in 1st, a BA list took 2nd, and Vanilla Marines in 3rd headin' to the semi-finals.

Great day, lots of fun

I had a good time but didn't do very well. Also the guy I played in round three had played a very similar army the round before, not to mention I made some very newbie mistakes :(

But I still had a great time, and got to meat a few new people.

So at the event I was at the top three was

1) Bugs
2) Battlewagon Orks (similar to mine)
3) Mech Eldar

Edit: the fact that two very similar ork builds did very differently proves to me that orks are not a bad army, I just can't seem to embrace the ork mindset.

Small town game store 'Ard Boyz today had six players (after two players ended up having to cancel because of work, I think.) Amazingly, no Imperial players at all. Two Tyranid players, two Chaos Daemon players, a Dark Eldar and a Tau. (The extra two probably would have ended up being Ork and Chaos Space Marines.) Top three ended up being Tyranid, Chaos Daemons and Chaos Daemons.

I believe much fun was had by all. I think the biggest complaint about the scenarios was that almost no one realized that they needed to keep track of the victory points from scenario one for use in scenario three.

I got SMASHED by the guard guy in the last game. I was playing a mostly raider spam DE. Despite my MANY Dark Lances and Blasters and Haywire grenades I ended the game with a ridiculous 4 kill points. He had around 40 to offer! It was the kind of luck that was so bad that you had to laugh and enjoy it. My only silver lining was that I made 16 obscured cover rolls for vehicles IN A ROW! It was pretty damn cool. ...And he still tabled me! Wacky day. But I did have 3 fantastic games! Good luck to semi finalists!

Marc Parker got 1st with Dark Eldar and 2nd place was a Foot Ork.

I got 3rd of 12 with all Biker Marines with 10 TH/SS Terminators. The Terminators were a very important anchor that allowed me to compete against armies that I couldn't run from without a nasty speedbump.

There were 3 Tyranids, 3 Orcs, 3 Marines and a 3 Monolith Necron.

Maybe Tyranids are better at higher point costs due to how expensive their shooting units are? Hard to say. Skill is more important than build/race and that may shine through when some people are augmenting their basic strategy and other people are trying to cast a silver bullet list to play with.

The Space Wolf player can't go to semis and passed his ticket onto 4th, who was Tyranid.

Diligently behind a rifle...

Well, I had a poor day rolling the dice. I have never missed that many Lascannon shots in my life. I went 1-1-1, Minor Victory, Draw, and Major Defeat.

I lost handily to the Salamanders and Vulkan He'Stan, twin linked MM and Flamers really don't like the IG. I only managed to kill a Sternguard marine, two assault marines, a Drednought & his dropod, and a rhino. Yay!

I drew ( I still can't beleive he was allowed to play, see my other thread) against arguably the worst player I have ever played. I understand if someone is new, that's fine we were all new once, but this guy wasn't new, he just stunk, and of course fate would give me the worst bit of rolling I have endured in my time playing 40K against this guy. He threw his HQ's right in front of my guns and acted surprised he lost them. I needed one more turn against him. I was going to turn something fierce. Whatever, I am just being bitter. Stupid table quarters fighting!

The Third guy ran Nids with a Tervigon (which I ignored, and he kept hidden behind cover.) He gave me 4 KP from the beginning with his spore mines, the I proceeded to slaughter his Genestealers and two of his Tyrant Guard fairly quickly. He also had a Trygon prime, three lictors and three Raveners that didn't get into the battle till late. A huge unit of Termaguants out flanked right onto my left and I proceeded to kill 25 of 30 in one turn. He also had two Hive Tyrants, A regular and a Flyrant) I got the regular Hive Tyrant down to one would, and killed the other one. But we drew on Killpoints, so we went to VP's I lost 671 out of 2497, he lost about 1300 points.

The top 3 at my store were:
1. Tyranids
2. Orks (me)
3. Imperial Guard

I played battlewagon orks and tabled 2 of my opponents, which was dumb on game 1. Lost first place to the nid player by somewhere around 5 points. Played him second game and we drawed barely, needed 100-200 points to have been minor victory in my favor, as we weren't able to get through all our turns based on how swarmy his army was.

Imperial guard cant make it so our 4th was ultramarine's! which gets to go.

Oh forgot the winners! Our victor had a Chimera heavy IG list with Inquisitorial allies. But he was mostly Guard. He had 64 Killpoints out of 72 possible, one of the nicest guys I have met playing 40K.

Our second place finisher had a DE list that was loaded up with Raiders. he annihilated a guy in 20 minutes today! He finished with 47 Killpoints.

Our third place had Blood Angels, he won on the last turn of round three by one Killpoint. He had 38.

Our 4th and fifth place guys had 37 and 35 Killpoints respectively.
