By my own admission, I am not a particularly talented painter. But I finished my first army and thought I'd share anyway.

The blue highlighting blends in better without camera flash and at a distance I think...

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

No game of chess can be won without pawns, and this may prove to be a very long game.

Doesn't look too bad . . . i'm in the same boat as you, i'm not a terribly good painter. but your marines look good, the rhinos need something to break up the color. Otherwise good job

Looks pretty good to me really and kudos for getting it done. I place a higher emphasis on having a fully painted army than on having 1 spectacular model amidst a sea of grey and taking 10 years to finish an army.

And actually, I think the Lord of Change looks good from what I can see. You should take some more, better pics. Spend some time on the pics to do the models justice.

Very nice, I like your paint scheme.

Sihamoni takes great pride in the league he helped create, as was conveyed in his recent advertising campaign for the CMFL that stated his midgets will "... take on anything; man, beast, or machine."

Amen to that, there's a certain joy in having every model painted when you hit the tabletop. I'm more of a gamer than a perfectionist painter.

The robes really look nice, the highlights are great for a table top army. I think you did a great job of using your talents to make a unified looking army that looks amazing on a table top.

Great job!

I'd say it looks pretty darn good. Im not a big fan of the painted text on the vehicles but that's purely based off personal taste.

Yup, at least from that distance, it seems pretty nice...

There are some highlights on the robes, nice colour contrast, some light freehands on the Rhinos...

Maybe they're not Golden Demon entries, still you have a full, painted force with an efficient colour scheme , which is something many yearn for!!!

Believe me I tried, I can't get my terrible old camera to do closeups without getting really blurred.

Try: A white piece of paper behind and under the models, also if the camera has a Macro setting, use that. Also try to light them from two sides, using your painting lights might work great for this. I used to know even more tricks but I forgot a lot of them...

Sure your not a very good painter compared to a normal Golden Demon winner. But I think your painting is actually pretty good. Your army looks nice together on the table for sure. Keep it up man your better then your giving yourself credit

The freehanding on the tanks is a bit rough, but the demons look good, and the marines arent bad either. Some careful use of inks & washes, and smoothing out the drybrushing/highlights, and you'll be turning out top notch stuff in a year or two.

Definitely admirable results for a first army.

Very well done, although I agree with the thought that the freehand writing needs a bit of love.

Diggin it. For the freehand writing, in the future lay down some thin strips of car painters tape to give yourself some references.

To be honest what I was going for with the freehand was letters that were supposed to be writhing of their own accord and forming into words on the vehicles. I didn't want it to look rigid and stylized. Tzeentchy constant change.
