I did the first one (top) with the flame on my stove before I realized the plastic I had was fairly malleable and I could bend it with my hands. It does somewhat curl back into it's original position, but what you can't see is that each pipe is pinned to the side of the bike in at least three places, so they're not going to be straightening out on me any time soon.

So I've been working on my warboss on warbike a bit more in the past day or two. Added a back rest behind the seat and I did a whole nother batch of exhaust pipes on the other side. The exhaust pipes are absolutely absurd in number, and they've done a decent job in bulking the bike out a bit more. I don't there'll be any doubt as to whether or not this is the boss's bike by the time I'm done.

Probably going to do the front wheel guard next, and I need to put a sleeping roll behind the backrest..

And then, of course, there's the guns...

Still, I think the 'waz' part is done.

So now that I've finished off my Big Boss project, I wanted to come back and work on this bike a bit more. First thing I decided to do was ditch the front wheel, as it looked too weedy compared to the back, and all of the new plastic ork bikers seem to have a larger front wheel than rear. I assume this is for crashing into enemies with. I grabbed a trukk tire, and with a bit of fiddling, remade the front end. The wider tire gave me more room between the forks to work with, and I discovered I could fit a pair of dakkaguns betwen the front forks, over the wheel. I didn't like how they looked at their original length, so I copied the design my big boss had on his fist-gunz and shortened them down. I figure four stubby barrels like that, with a bit of work, can easily represent Wazdakka's fancy 4-shot gun.

Obviously, any mold lines will be taken care of. The guns need a fair bit of work on them to be properly integrated into the bike. I think I'm going to cut off the vents where the spent shells are ejected from the side, and move them to the underneath, so that it would spit the shells down behind the front tire. It also needs an ammo feed, though I am not sure how or where I'm going to put that yet. I may want to put two ammo drums further up the forks with a belt of bullets feeding into either side.

They look a bit clunky so far because they've not been properly integrated - that's the next step. Hopefully, after the addition of extra bitz up on the forks and handlebars, it'll look reasonably placed.

Lastly, a very rough draft of what I think the rider will be, with some of the bitz I'll be using labelled:

Alright, this probably looks strange, but bear with me for a little while and I think I can integrate it a bit better.

I saw a Black Orc drum from fantasy that looked like this and I figured it looked good, so maybe I'd try and cover the worky bitz up with something similar and not worry about the gun's mechanism at all. I will admit it looks a bit strange, but combined with a front wheel guard and enough gubbins (dials, gauges, etc) up by the handlebar area, it'll look okay. The tops of the forks are going to be extended for some long-ish handlebars. Maybe not apehangers, but somewhere in between.

Uh, welcome to ECC, Ein county choppers.
Its kinda ridiculous what you do with some plastic and a bit of gs. I love the bike tho, and your attention to detail. It does look weird with the mechanism of the gun covered like that, but i honestly think that a lot of people wouldnt even notice if you didnt tell them. Right now it does look a bit flat, but im sure thats going to change soon.

I really like the overall look of the bike. Its rather simple atm and not cluttered up. Looking forward to the rider

just an idea for the gun cover, you know on the GQ bikes they have the metal cover things on the handlbars (not sure what the real-world term is) , you should model a big metal orky skull/face plate thing on there so that it looks like the gun is coming out of its mouth, with the jagged edge looking like its teeth

That is sort've what I had in mind. I'm probably going to add teeth pointing back towards the guns as a wheel guard so there's a 'mouth' at the front. I might put a pair of headlights on there too to serve as the 'eyes;.

Made in us
Bonkers Buggy Driver with Rockets

After a couple failed attempts, I ended up with a wheel guard I'm reasonably happy with that helps make a 'face' with the styrene around the gun barrels. The whole front end was basically modified from my original concept, but I think it's alright. Until a few days ago, the bike was looking far too 'clean' and smooth to be an ork bike. All the stuff up front helps break that up, though I will have to do some retooling arond the back area to make sure it's proper orky.

I still need to flesh out the handlebar area so that the gun looks better - by building up behind it with all sorts of worky dials and stuff for the driver to see, I should be able to make it look okay.

Made in us
Bonkers Buggy Driver with Rockets

Not much work today, but I did manage to hack down one of the dial sections from an Ork Trukk kit and make it fit between the two forks. I need to clean it up a little more, but I think it works. The steering wheel hole has been replaced with a turbo boosting button.

Also, please note that the rider's body is just a fantasy warboss that I stuck on the bike to get some sense of where the steering arm should be. The bionic power fist holding onto the handlebars is going to be a permanent feature of the final model, but it needs to have the 'handlebar' itself bulked up a bit - it used to be the handle on the Waaagh! Banner Nob mini GW produces, but it's a bit too thin to look like a proper handlebar given the rest of the bike's size.

I'm probably going to add rectangular holes on the angled-up sides of the toothy gun housing that will function double-duty as 'eyes' for the face on the front end of the bike and as a place for the dakkaguns to eject their spent shells. I tried adding headlights at one point to make eyes for the face, but it looked too odd with the eyes pointing forward but the top of the face pointing up.

I've been negotiating with Nozeminer over at The-Waaagh.com's forums for a bit of help with sculpting this biker boss. For those of you keeping track, Noze is the same fellow who gave me a hand with my Big Boss project. I think we've come to a decent arrangement, so once I get a few more things done he'll be heading off to get a body.

the front wheel guard is a bit odd somehow, the spikes are pointing the wrong way for running down enemies I'd been expecting more of a spiky _mudguard_, coz the boss doesn't want to be blinded (and his guns clogged) from mud thrown up from the front wheel (he is however perfectly happy to throw mud in the faces of whoever's riding behind him, so the rear wheel needs no mudguard...)

Seems easliy fixed though - add a mudguard over the front wheel, it will look like a tongue in the 'mouth' formed by the teeth.

You'll be doing some sort of ammo feed for the guns? Keeping with the 'giant scary face' theme, maybe round ammo cannisters forming 'eyes'?

I think something that could enhance the "jaw" effect would be to make the top set covering the guns a bit more curved, or maybe even elevating the back of that part (side closest to rider) a bit more compared to the front.

Looks great, though.

Ein, the bike's looking GREAT.
Where your Boss is concerned, I do have suggestions that *I think* are VERY important.

When speaking with Nozeminer, make certain to emphasize the GW Ork appearance. He definitely did a good job sculpting the Warboss, but there are a few specifics about the warboss that don't meet the GW look for Orks that makes him stand out (aside from his size LOL).
GW Orks have VERY corded muscles. They are in a constant state of bulge and striation. The Warboss' muscles are VERY smooth. That makes a big difference.
The other thing is head shape. I know he was simply sculpting over an existing head before. This one, though... If he sculpts a head, make sure it matches the GW style for Orks.
For this model more than the other, it WILL make a difference that it matches with the GW Ork physique.
The other Ork was a giant among its' kind. That means it's not so big a deal if its' different. This one, though, you'll want to look like a more coherent part of "the whole."

Just my thoughts.

Magickal: Good points, and I will relay the information along. A thing to note is that he basically just resurfaced he existing musculature underneath the greenstuff and smoothed it out - he didn't really modify the musculature any. Because of that, and because the original mini had relatively smooth muscular areas, the boss ended up looking a bit unique. Still, as you've said, he's sort've exempt from comparison from normal marines.

The only places that musculature will really be showing on the biker boss are his abs, which I have faith on Noze on. The rest of him should be decently covered up by the jacket he'll be wearing.

He won't be sculpting a head for this - going to use the Kommando Nob head with the goggles and cigar.

It may be too late for this, but I think the guns need more dakka. The current ones are fine for a boy or a Nob but bosses needs somthin special (usually disproportionately large).

I was actually inclined to agree with you until I saw the new Forgeworld Warboss warbike they're trotting out as a W.I.P.

When I first saw that, I thought they looked far too weedy, but it did actually help me a bit because I felt like I could represent the guns however I wanted. I was having trouble figuring out where I wanted to stuff the guns, as putting them on the exterior of the forks looked silly (the bike got far too wide). My current version was essentially a compromise, because I wanted something with 4 barrels to properly represent Wazdakka's 4-shot weapon.

Also, an important thing to consider: The rider is also going to be carrying a hefty gun (the big mek w/ bosspole soopa shoota) which will add to the total dakka output on the vehicle.

I do actually agree, like I said, but I've not got much more room to work with in terms of places to put guns.

I see what you mean.....=/

I took a different approach to wazzdakka I acually modeled the bike around the guns instead of the other way around. I used a heavily converted Tau Ion Cannon looks great IMHO. So essentially mine isn't a bike with guns it is a gun thats a bike =P (I would post a pic but I managed to knock my camera off where it was sitting and now it is in 100 or so convenient pecies >__<.

Regardless though your work is always incredible and it looks just fine as is.

Arise, ye slumbering beast, for I have morsels to feed thee!

Thanks to the immeasurable help of Nozeminer, over at The-Waaagh.com, this bike now has a rider! As a refresher, this biker boss was supposed to be a 'Terminorker' - a pretty obvious joke based on Ahhnold in the Terminator movies. Dressed up in a leather jacket, he is half-bionic, and his whole right side consists of cybork replacement parts, including his noggin'. The gun, likewise, is a joke aimed at Ahhnold's sawed-off, though it counts as a much meaner Kustom Mega-Blasta.

Enough babble, pictures:

Almost twice as long as a normal warbike!

I've got some work still to do on the model. The tube sticking out of the sleeve on his right arm is going to be made into an exhaust pipe. There will be a banner, and grots, and rivets, and maybe even a red light-up eye on his bionic side.
