Random question:

Anyone got the full text of that interview with Jervis where he talks about his son not know what each weapon was, and how they wanted to change that?

I need the exact text from it.

Q. Can bikes Turbo Boost during their Scout
move?
A. Yes they now can, but remember that they
have to remain more than 12” away from the
enemy as they move.

This was listed under the "FAQ" section. Not the "Errata" section?

Turbo Boosting is only found under the Special Rules section of the rule book. And Scouts says that you can make a "normal move" after deployment and before first turn. Since when is a Special Rule a Normal Rule (or normal move in this case)??

Most people (including GW staff) that I know interpret "normal move" as... well... a normal move. Turbo Boosting is a special rule. Hense the fact that it's in the Special Rules section...

So now we include special rules as normal rules? What about special attacks? Just as a hypothetical example: What happens if you are only allowed to make normal attacks? GW just openned a huge problem here. Now there is precident for those normal attacks to include special attacks. None of that makes any sense!

Internet forums are an essentially degenerate medium in that respect. Opinionated and rude, where normal social niceties don't apply, and each with its own favorite opinions and scorned heretics. Despicable, really.

Despite the fact that regular scouts can now turbo boost, Ravenwing cannot turbo boost in their scout move. It specifically says so in the Dark Angels codex. DA Codex, pg 27:

"Scouts: Note that no model may make a Turbo Boost move whilst using the Scouts Special Rule."

So sad. . .

The debate is still out on whether rulebook FAQ trumps codex which trumps rulebook. Usually the order is FAQ>Codex>Rulebook, it's just never been stated if it's ANY FAQ.

Yes, but regardless of the trumping order, this is a specific rule for DA.

And if the FAQ takes precedence over the codex, or trumps it, then it's no longer a special rule for them. Otherwise what does this help? Scout Bikes, and Deffkopta's? Wouldn't it have been better covered in their specific FAQs then?

No, my point was that the FAQ is explaining how the USR works. DA have an additional modification to the USR in their codex. The rulebook FAQ doesn't apply because of this.

Q. If my Codex includes some options (or other
rules) that seem to have no effect in the new
edition (like the Thornback biomorph, which
makes the model count as double the number of
models for the purposes of outnumbering the
enemy in combat resolution), are you going to
publish an errata to change them to something
else that does work?

A. No, if an option (or a rule) clearly has no
effect, like in the case of the example above, it
simply does nothing. We think it’s simpler to just
leave it until the next edition of the Codex rather
than change its effects through an errata.

I smell more laziness! When is the new Nid book coming out?

Hopefully sooner rather than later. It really needs it.

This also opens up a question if a tank can tankshock while coming in off an outflank. Tank shock is a special type of move, not a normal move.

It's sad that a 5th edition ruling update is trumped by a 4th codex saying otherwise.

I'm talking about RW bikes not being able to turbo boost on their scout move.

***** After further thought it might be overpowered to have full RW army scouting with turbo boost and also outflanking later.

It seems to me like a lot of people would have been much happier if the newest Chaos book had been LatD: An HQ for CSM, one for Guard-type armies. Troops for Traitor units, with scary CSM as elites.

Then do a second book that is the CSM people are used to: the Traitor legions

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

Potentially my Str 1 MC can now penetrate AV20. Don't know of anything outside of Nids this might be useful with, but not bad if needing a cheap weapons symbiote to fill out requirements.

Do the entrys for rhinos and razorbacks in the Codex SW refer back to the "space marine codex"
