Yeah,
that's a crazy notion... imagine if we had chess clocks in 40k! you have 90mins to spend as you please in your 5 turns...maybe 6 or 7 turns do ya get extra time?
this could actually be good!

Panic.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Time pressure is part of the game in Space Hulk. The Marines player gets only three minutes (I think -- can't remember for certain) to make his move. For each Sergeant lost, he loses 30 seconds from the limit.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

From memory, it was 3 minutes basic, and then additional minutes added according to the various characters. Though please be aware I'm from the original Space Hulk days! (even got the Compendium of White Dwarf articles)

One of the D6 Generation podcasts talked about this being used for a War Machine or Hordes tournament. It sounds like an OK idea, actually. It does, of course, discriminate a bit against the horde armies so i think I'd want to make sure there's allowances for horde players using movement trays or 'move the corner units' tricks.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

I'm in agreement with Panic. If you roll one at a time, it's done and can't change. Which also means that a die that killed one of your "whatever's" won't change.

During the last bits of the game, espcially when your IC's are fighting, roll them one by one. It's way more interesting.

Yeah,
I guess players would need to be given a time limit based on how many figures are in their army.. maybe a table of sorts...

less than 50 gets 60mins
50 to 100 minis gets 75mins
over 100mini's gets 90mins total...
or something.

Panic...
