Ditto here. Me and a few friends were planning on placing a large order with the Warstore anyways, and this deal came at the perfect time. The fact that (according to the area code of their phone number) they are located in Michigan with my group, makes it nice to help out a "local" game store.

Okay, how do I check for items? All it says is check if you are interested in a product?

One thing is, you'll get a PayPal invoice *before* you actually pay, so if something seems fishy, I suppose you could always back out then?

You call/email what you want. They send you a paypal invoice and you pay.

I figured I'd go out on a limb and place an order with 'em. I sent the invoice for the things I wanted to their e-mail about 30 minutes ago, and just got a response back.

Their site says to assume a minimum of $10 shipping fees. However, mine actually came out to less than that. To quote the invoice:

I'm ending up paying roughly $8 for an order including 4 boxed sets, which ain't that bad. The shipping was actually what was putting me off placing an order with them, but I figured it'd be worth a try anyway.

Their invoicing (and the mathematics of said invoice) are all accurate, and I think they're more legitimate than the site's appearance might lead one to believe.

We'll see how long it takes for the parts to arrive.

I gave them a shot and placed an order with them. They gave me a call to let me know that 2 of the items I ordered were direct only items and that it would take a week to get them. They just wanted to make sure I still wanted them. I thought that was pretty cool.

The guy I spoke with seemed like a nice guy, and sounds legit.

I purchased a ton of crap cause it was too good to pass up on that price.

I wouldn't even call this competing, as Mike stated about basically taking a loss by selling a LR at $33 is business suicide. However it gets you noticed and yes it will get you some customers.

However- masking your identity and being difficult to contact (the 5 times I've called over the last two months) doesn't look good in my book.
I'd rather order from someone who
1. I know
2. Has been around and isn't going to just disappear like one of the hundreds of previous online business implosions.
3. Is easy to deal with.

Not really too difficult to match them up to someone.

-Gorilla Con is in Michigan
-Direct only items can only be ordered by stores with accounts with GW.
-Stores with accounts are listed in the back of White Dwarf
-Checked stores in Michigan in White Dwarf
-One phone number matched the phone number for a shop called 'Planeswalkers Magic Hat'.

They've been in business for a bit, and seem active in the local community.

but yes, I actually just became the 100% owner of GTGU because i found it was already a mirror image of what i was doing for a military service member support program, so i figured to go for the strength in numbers theory and absorb control of thier college level gamer clubs (thats where all the warmachine/hordes orders been going!), and am looking to open a pure GTGU store & event center (to host 1000+ people at once!) in another location somewhere in the near future (next summer if we're lucky).

I only wish the dang website wasnt so.... "lame" sums it up - but im fixing that soon.

Not paypal only, I just placed a cc order myself. You include your phone# in the order email and they call to verify payment.

Awesome. Good luck with that. Having an event center like that would have people driving from several states away. Great opportunity to host large scale events on a regular basis.

ack, no, my bad. Make that 'magic bag'. I blame having to be at work at 5am, and many, many cups of coffee in my system.

But to sum something up for anyone wondering if they should put an order in: 40% off is the point where someone is GIVING the stuff to you. So unless someone's going out of business, that's a darn fine deal. Buy lots, buy often, and do your patriotic duty to get the economy healthy!

I for one wont be looking this gift horse in the mouth. Compiling a list of goodies right now.

I placed an order, being pretty apprehensive about doing so I must say.

If the guy is a scam artist, he's a really personable one, and seemed to be doing this more to get people out there to hear about the charity "Gorilla Con" than anything else.

I'll post again once my order actually arrives. I'll also point out to anybody who may have ordered with Amex: Amex has fraud protection on even the most basic cards, so even if this isn't legit in the long run you can protest it. FYI.

Its legit. I've ordered from them two times (reasonably large orders as well). I think everyone will be very happy who ordered. I assume there might be some delays in getting the order, because I'm assuming they probably got 100-200 orders today for Black Friday. I'm sure its going to take time to get everything and to make sure everything gets packed correctly.

Some people may not get exactly what they ordered due to the large volume of orders, but I would think Gorillatactics will try to fix it if you call them and let them know.

Is it only for friday or during this weekend? Its too late for me now but if the sale goes all weekend I will buy a massive quantity of stuff.....

I spoke with the owner at around 5am about some items on my order and he told me he already had about 200 orders (emails), so I assume they got a whole lot more after that.

The warstore is only site on the entire internet which GW allows to ignore their trade terms regarding the splitting up of boxed sets whilst keeping a trade account with them.I never really saw it as fair but good on them i guess.

As I understand it since they don't sell complete products online it's all kosher. But I'm not up on GW's latest.

I've seen this multiple times now, am I mistaken or is GW markup 45%? Five years ago, I'm quite sure it was...but I don't know what the mark is set at currently. However, at 45% markup...he's still making 5% + getting name recognition + nickle/dimes from shipping costs. I think this is an aggressive (and good) idea to break into the market.

Some bad information here.

Warstore is not allowed to ignore GW's trade terms. Far from it. There is some pretty good pressure put on GW Trade Sales to make sure Warstore does play by the rules. Neal has been pretty creative over the years in challenging and bending those rules, but if he breaks them or ignores them, GW comes down on him.

Answering another question: GW's current discount to Trade accounts is 45%, and generally will include free shipping. Nothing new, same deal for the last decade. Stores that choose to not order directly from GW will pay a higher price when ordering through a middleman or distributor.
