After reading the thread, I'm almost suprised. People actually noticed the SoB's face! And the Space Marines for that matter!
And is it just me, or does it look like a stormtrooper outfit ran amuck?

Yeah, but Mudkip is Pokemon, not YuGiOh.
sorry, i didn't know that there was a difference...
As someone who once played more Pokemon that he should've have I can tell you that Pokemon is much cooler than YuGiOh. Because they made a TV show out of a Gameboy game and a card game out of the TV show. I know they're just as evil greedy moneysuckers as the producers of YuGiOh, but at least they tried to hide by not making a show which does not directly refer to their product.

Vin Diesel, The Rock, Michael Duncan, or Batista should be the only people allowed to dress up as space marines.
You really shouldn't talk about other geeks like that just because their geeky hobby is dressing themselves up instead of painting little metal men

I knew immediately.
It's common knowledge.

If you want to be a Space Marine, hit the gym?
Not a bad idea I guess, but I don't think it'll catch on.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

Usually it's just professional models who look like their hot-babe characters that look good, but yeah. I'm trying to get together some nerdy/engi guys I lift with for DBZ or catachan dress-up. We all expressly agreed that if you weren't in a cutting streak by summer, you won't be able to roll.
It could be the lighting, but I suspect the SoB is also a guy... I think I'm seeing 5 o'clock shadow. Alas, the high collar hides the Adam's apple, or lack thereof.
Check the waist to hip ratio, definately a female. (though near butterfacedness she is indeed.)
As to the Ultramarine, damn but I would looooove to own a good qualtiy SM suit. You could use it for paint ball!
*Harr harr harr, I has 3+ save your shots don't count!
Even if ManFaye is being deliberately ironic, it is still very wrong.
She, not bad. He (marine) very bad. Have seen better SM costumes on gaming cosplayers. Unfortunately, there isn't enough body-shape appropriate cos-playing happening.
I'm a on-again/off-again costumer (NOT cosplayer. The difference? We 501st members aren't cosplayers. We do stuff for charity.) and yes, I mock and laugh at cosplayers. Usually while dressed as a Stormtrooper (you can't tell I'm snorting in derision under my helmet).
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

[potentially racist comment]Is there a reason why only the Americans and Japanese seem to take Cosplay seriously?[/potentially racist comment]
Are there any Europeans who do this kind of thing at conventions (other than the odd 12 year-old at Gamesday), or is this just a Western Hemisphere thing? I've been to many UK game shows and never seen anyone dressed as such an arse! Maybe its just not a UK thing. Maybe the French and Germans, and even the Belgians engage in it and not being French, German or Belgian I haven't seen them...?
I mean I see nothing out of place in fit young female models walking around in spandex and laser guns. But overweight middle-aged roleplayers doing it is just so wrong and I have NEVER seen a Brit doing it!
Sure its a free world, and people should be allowed to wear what they want to. But equally it being a free world and all, the rest of us are allowed to point and snigger! Somethings you just don't do if you are 3 stones overweight and poledancing is the other!

Because the Japanese are weird and when their cartoons, made for children but don't tell that to anime fans, came to the U.S., you had the wannabe-Japanese kids emulate them.

It makes sense that aside from the few hot girls who dress up as a hobby (most likely due to ego and attention-whoring), that hot girls wouldn't want to be surrounded by mouthbreathers unless it was for cash. I remember a sweet pic of some nerdy guy standing awkwardly next to the starcraft ghost chick. I can't find it but it sums it up.
I've seen pics of people dress up as comic book guy. Those people are at least cool enough to dress up appropriately. More people should dress up as Nurglings in 40k conventions IMO. BTW Diablo 3 cosplay is gonna own:
edit: This pic will do:

I agree, when you can do it in style why bothering with toy soldiers? I read here (I think) that somebody and his mates went to the McDonnalds drive thru in a kubelwagen dressed as SS soldiers [faceslap] beat that with toy dollies.
