Agreed. Give us a reason to use those funky minis that don't really have a purpose in the collectors range and also give GW a reason to get really wacky with sculpts.

Rogue trader wasn't a great game, but that's not the point. It gave the player a vast potential to work with and that's what is most important about RT.

Reprint RT in a special collectors edition. As I said, the game is nigh unplayable, but...that book would sell like hotcakes. Its just too cool.

As long as the binding doesn't give out, I'd get one.

My worry is that if GW reprinted Rogue Trader they'd 'revise' the fluff to better match what they do now, just as they have with the newer WFRP edition.

whatwhat wrote:The game which is in dire need of a redo is BFG. That imo has the worse rules of any GW game atm.

This I would vehemently disagree with, the BFG rules are very solid and it's still loads of fun to play. (Check my old-skool BatReps in the Space Games forum)

In RT, marines did not have genetic implants. They were elite humans, and Power Armor gave +1 Strength. iirc, marines were T 3.

In the dark future, there are skulls for everyone. But only the bad guys get spikes. And rivets for all, apparently welding was lost in the Dark Age of Technology. -from C.Borer

My needs are simple
1) The marine tactical squad box could do with an update.Things like
new pose variations and a couple of heavy weapon options.
2)A new marine tank that is not a rhino or land raider variant.
3) All necron options made in plastic. They have to be the most
expensive forces to build up.

Marines already get plenty of love. As to 3), Have you heard of Sisters of Battle?

QFT.

BFG is fine. It plays nicely and smoothly. The mechanics are clean. The only issue is having sufficient Orders Dice for large games. It doesn't need a redo as much as a compilation of the Armada updates and additions into the base rulebook.

1. It could use a minor update with more heads and more varied arms. But it's not a bad set of kit. The extra heavy weapons are in the Devastators box, so the base ML is fine.

2. The Marines have enough vehicles already. The Rhino and Land Raider are their tanks. Leave some of the design space to the Guard and Xenos.

3. Necrons are definitely NOT the most expensive force to build up. Necrons have plastic Troops, so they're actually relatively cheap. Sisters are all-metal basic Troops costing $40 for ~120 pts. Tallarn set a higher bar at $40 for ~90 pts of dudes, but Death Korps of Krieg are the clear winner at $50+ for the same 90 pts in infantry.

Second.

I'd also support a re-release of Quest, but mostly cause I want to use my WQ Witch Hunter for the proper game and not just Mordheim.

If you like Man'o'War, take a look at the new Warhammer Historical release Trafalgar.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Until they do Bretonnina fleets for Trafalgar, it's not quite the same as Man O War...

Though I will probably drop some green at the warstore to acquire it eventually.

I have the Horus Heresy board game. I only opened it to check all the pieces were there. Too many card counters, even for me that was overload.

Yeah, I agree with what several others have already said: BFG's rules are generally pretty solid. Personally I think it's one of the best games GW has at the moment, and it would be sweet if it got some more support (really, it'd be nice if most of the Specialist Games got more support).

What don't you like about the rules?

Personally, I think it would be cool if Warhammer Quest got a redo. I've heard it was a sweet game and I've never had a chance to play it. It'd be kind of cool to see Man O' War come back too. It seems like it could be a fun game too, if a little over-the-top.

Oh yeah, a collectors edition of Rogue Trader would be awesome too. I would probably buy that.

A remade Blood Bowl starter set, with new Human and Orc teams. The ultimate beer and pretzels game. It could even appeal to the current boardgaming crowd.

What exactly is wrong with the current starterset (other than not containing LRB5.0)?

I got Horus Heresy, Doom of the Eldar & Battle For Armageddon for GBP% each at one of GW's sales events. Waaay too many cards, but I enjoyed the immensely. Though every time I played Horus Heresy, Chaos won, no matter what side I was playing. Chaos was the cheesy list f the day back then.

Doom of the Eldar didn't work nearly as well as a boardgame

Did you have the pull-out game that came in an issue of white Dwarf, similar in style with counters to Horus Heresy but gave you a plan of the spaceship and the Emperor and loyalist troops had to fight their way to the bridge and kill Horus?

No, I missed that one (It was called Warmaster IIRC, years before the 'epic WFB' game came along)

Well, that alone is a pretty major problem. Plus I want Black Reach level BB plastic sculpts.

And I want GW to stop being so secretive about upcoming releases, but the fact remains that you and I are more likely to walk on Mars before either of these things happen.

No. The rules were good, untill the Dark Eldar, Tyranids, and Necrons came out, now they're more screwed a level far beyond anything orks have done to 40k.

I'll be honest, the only one of those fleets I've ever played against is Tyranids, and they didn't seem to screw up the balance/metagame. Not sure on the other 2.

Well I and many people in the online bfg community must be playing the wrong game then.

Well, thank you, Captain Obvious!

This thread is about what people want, not what they expect to get. What I expect to get is more of the same old crap.
