There's been a preview of the Sentinel floating around shown with a plasma cannon and missile launcher plus armoured and enclosed crew compartment, in Cadian colours if I remember correctly.

I don't understand peoples hate of the cover. It's not saturated with color like most of the others, but I would think of all armies guard would be the least colorful. They're gritty. I love the fleet master model.

Am I the only one who thinks the new astropath looks wickedly cool?!?!?

Also, I know it was mentioned about the greatcoat legs, but did nayone else see they mentioned resperators as well as a "bit"? No more uber expensive Forge-crack for me!!

the advisors look good, and the cadian command squad is nice. personally not a fan of the jungle fighters. (look too Rambo for my taste) and the covers meh! the SM codex cover is nicer.

I actually rather like the cover... i think this might be the release that gets me back into 40k, the new command squad models look nice but bitz business are going to do really well from it

I don't mind the saturation. I do mind the actual content. I'm no artist, but even I can notice that the the people look... off. Look at the Guardsmen on the left. He's the biggest person in the scene, so attention naturally is drawn to him. He just doesn't look right.

Compare it to the last two IG Codex covers, especially the first 3rd Ed. codex, and I think you'll agree that the art isn't as good as those covers.

Perspective has been wrong on every single codex (with the exception of the eldar ones I think) for the past few years. Manpile drawings are drawn with intentionally incorrect perspective. As for not looking right, thats just because he's holding the gun wrong. Which is an issue, but given some of the horrendous problems with perspective and anatomy(unintentional ones) in the last few codex covers it's not that bad.

I'm loving the new Catachan Command Squad, though - with the exception of the medic - he just kinda reminds me of an Ork Pain Boy. And while I hate Ratlings in concept and hate the existing line of Ratlings - I'm definitely buying some of these new guys just for the models. I totally dig 'em. The Officer of the Fleet will make a great Planetary Governor or somesuch, although I'm already planning to use my metal Cadian Commander from the box set as my Officer of the Fleet - maybe give him a nice peaked cap and I think he's set. Master of the Ordinance and Primaris Psyker are also totally solid. Looking good!

Wait, what? They're intentionally instructing artists to mess up the perspective?

Why would they do this?

I hate that the ratling has terrain already on his base.
I hate the Cover. Poor pencils, poor colors.
I love everything else.

There are a few models in there I'll be buying just to paint!

That second image with the blank flag and helmets is odd.

Is it some graphic program issue, the insignia were done on a different layer and it was deleted?

Odd, odd, odd.

Anyway there is no such thing as traitor guard. Except on Forgeworlds.

your right, that IS strange. I feel it was made in photoshop, and the artist may have been told to leave out the insignas go GW could do It how they wanted. But thats not probible. Could have been an early drawing.
